The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 137,000. Jft.
Sudden failure of steering wheel. Display shows "steering wheel lock". This could be serious issue if it happened during driving. Unable to start the car or to get the car in neutral gear. Had to tow the car to the vw service where it was diagnosed with steering control module failure.
