1 Air Bag Light On problem

Tl the contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Passat. While driving 20 mph, the air bag warning indicator illuminated and the air bag partially deployed. Prior to the deployment, the contact heard several popping sounds coming from the steering wheel underneath the horn pad. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 18v148000 (air bags) on September 7, 2018. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 96,000. The VIN was not available.

2 Air Bag Light On problem

Tl � the contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Passat. The contact stated that when the air bag warning indicator illuminated it does not go off. The vehicle was taken to dealer santa ana auto center (1223 w 17th st, santa ana, CA 92706. 714-835-7830) who diagnosed the vehicle and informed that the air bag warning indicator pump had failed and it was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown. Jc.

3 Air Bag Light On problem

My vehicle was a part of the clockspring recall for vw in 2015. The airbag light is now on and all steering wheel electrical controls are no longer working. Mechanic says it is a failure of the clockspring in the steering wheel.

4 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/13/2017

Vehicle was recalled for air bag/clock spring reason twice in just over a year. Now, shortly after both of these repairs, we had a noise in the steering wheel, as well as an air bag failure indicator illuminate. We cannot help but feel this is related to the work that has been performed on these recent recalls and feel vw should be responsible for the cost of these repairs. This happened while driving on a city street while making a turn. Attached is a copy of the service record.

5 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 04/25/2016

Vehicle has 32,000 miles and airbag light is on. Horn does not work so the vehicle was taken in for the clock spring recall. Horn works but airbag light is still on. Dealer recommends replacing the "passenger occupant detection system" at an estimated cost of $3,000. 00. Called vw customer care and opened a case with them, but because of the time (not mileage) they refuse to offer any assistance with this issue. This is a serious safety issue and should not occur having owned the vehicle 5 years and driven it 32,000 miles.
