Two problems related to rear suspension coil springs have been reported for the 2014 Volkswagen Passat. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2014 Volkswagen Passat based on all problems reported for the 2014 Passat.
On March 27, 2019, during a state safety inspection, the right rear coil spring was shown to be fractured. It was repaired by Nissan of somersworth, nh on June 29, during a rear brake repair, the left coil spring was found to be fractured. Repair not yet done. I think it is more than a coincidence that both fracture within a 3 month period. They were poorly manufactured. Currently there is a recall for other vw modes having faulty rear coil springs. I think this model and year requires a recall as well.
