1 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2006 Volkswagen Rabbit

Failure Date: 03/04/2013

My car is a 2006 and after one of my fuel ups with the wife we smelled gas, thought it was nothing maybe some gas on my had or something. During the week we still got smells of gas off and on, well the smell was so strong that my wife was getting headaches from it. I looked under the car to see for fuel leak, around the gas tank but nothing. I went online and found NHTSA campaign id number: 10v621000 which stated ,"rabbit vehicles may have a small plastic tab located on the windshield washer fluid reservoir that may chafe against an underhood fuel supply line. " so I looked under the hood and found exactly where it was as stated above, only my car is a 2006 and not "model year 2007-2009 Rabbit vehicles equipped with 2. 5l engines" so it is a 175 dollar cost to me. There could have been a fire with my wife in the car as she is the main driver of that car, good thing I do not have kids yet.

2 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

The contact owns a 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit. He stated that the vehicle was equipped with a knock sensor and it would limit the engine rpms and it would not allow the vehicle to down shift. He confirmed when activated, the amount of fuel passing through the fuel lines would be limited and when passing another vehicle, his vehicle would not accelerate. The manufacturer advised the dealer to retorque the knock sensor under an unknown manufacturers service bulletin. The vehicle was released to the owner, however the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer a second time who stated that they would replace the knock sensor under the manufacturers warranty. The contact was awaiting repairs, to date. The failure and current mileages were under 5,600. Updated 04/20/10. Updated 09/21/jb.

3 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit

Failure Date: 12/17/2006

The vehicle was brand new, less than a day old from the dealership, with only 240 miles on it. The vehicle was driven to dinner, and after dinner it would not start, there was a strong fuel smell. Looked under the car and noticed a significant fuel leak. Manufacture sent a tow truck. The local dealership said it was a fuel line that had been improperly installed at the factory. They re-attached it.
