Tl the contact owns a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated that the seat belt indicator flashed and a chime was heard even when the driver's seat belt was secured. Flow Volkswagen of charlottesville (1313 richmond rd, charlottesville, va 22911, (434) 296-4147) was notified several times, but was unable to replicate the failure. The vehicle was currently at the dealer being diagnosed. In addition, there was a delay in providing the part concerning an unknown recall for the ambient lighting. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA action numbers: ea18005 (seat belts) and pe18001 (seat belts); however, the failure was related. The manufacturer was notified of the seat belt failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 60.

There is a recall for sunroof lighting: from vw website: high humidity in the panoramic sunroof ambient lighting bar led module (caused by environment or by leaving the sunroof open) could lead to a local short circuit. If this happens, there is a risk of a fire. So, I bought higher model because I wanted this feature, but now I cannot use it because vw is going to disconnect it? at the end, pay for feature, but you cannot use it because vw can't figure out which fire to put out.

This vehicle has a drive ability problem. The car has a major hesitation and is very dangerous when pulling onto the highway. The car almost cuts out but doesn't stall and find it very dangerous. The dealer told me that nothing is wrong with it. Also, there was a recall on my ambient lighting on my sunroof. There could be a leak or humidity could affect the wiring and could cause a fire. There fix is to disconnect it. I have no sunroof lighting. I should get a refund for something they took away.

Panoramic sunroof led ambient panel lights recall resulting in darker lighting inside vehicle which makes me more afraid at night and was a false advertisement feature as the original lighting was what attracted me to the vehicle upon lease agreement. No effort has been made to repair the lighting defect caused by recall.

I have been having this truck for 13 months now I have more than 20 payments still to make on this truck every time it rains the truck gets filled with water in the passenger side fills more than 5 gallons of water depending on how bad it rains my heated seats don't work am assuming it's due to the water damage and my back lights continue to blow out I am actually fighting a ticket due to this matter there is water damage on top of the roof top and feel I got rip off with this junk.

The contact owns a 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled and all the warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed a loud noise, no compression, and a metallic metal to metal noise coming from the engine. The engine would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was serviced per NHTSA campaign numbers: 14v441000 (fuel system, gasoline) and 13v569000 (electrical system, exterior lighting). The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 08v235000 (engine and engine cooling). The failure mileage was 125,310.

The contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated that the exterior lighting failed to operate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the a fuse for the exterior lighting overheated and caused the fuse panel to become damaged. The fuse panel needed to be replaced. The dealer stated that the repair for NHTSA campaign number: 13v569000 (electrical system) was previously performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

On four separate occasions the car has lost power while in drive on city streets. First occasion April 23 2014 the coolant/water pump failed as did fuse. May 23 fuel pump failed and fuel pump panel. July 28 car died while driving due to faulty fuel injector. Yesterday Aug 15 2016 car again lost power while driving on city streets and had to be towed (fourth time with less than 50k miles) to dealer. I am awaiting diagnosis but no longer feel safe in the vehicle. Twice I was fortunate that police officers showed up and were able to push my car out of traffic and to safety but at this point I believe vw should take action to replace the car as it has clearly proven a safety hazard for myself and others on the road. I received a safety recall 97z9 letter asking me to take my vw Tiguan to a vw dealer to have the affected fuse (plug-in position f16) replaced. I responded and informed the company that there's no vw car dealership on st. Croix, in the us virgin islands where I have the Tiguan. I asked if the part could be shipped and the vw mechanic could install it, and I was told that can't be done. The gentleman then told me that the nearest vw dealership is in puerto rico, and I should ship my car there to have the work done. Puerto rico is separated from the virgin islands by approximately 12,000 miles of water. It is not practical for me to ship my car there. I need some help in resolving this problem. Exterior lights went out completely on the right side of the car. Driving down the highway this could have been a dangerous situation. My fuse under the hood was melted and panel also shows signs of melting.

Alert messages appeared on the information display stating that multiple exterior lights failed. I checked and there are approximately six exterior lights that are not working. My husband suggested that this might be a fuse. I did an internet search to see if I could determine if there had been a recall regarding this issue. I found articles on several reputable news sites stating that Volkswagen had issued a recall for 800,000 Tiguan models worldwide for lighting issues. When I called our local Volkswagen dealer, they were unaware of any recalls.

While driving down the highway in dark, snowy, and icy conditions with medium traffic, some of the vehicle lights went out and vw warning indicator came on saying multiple lights were out. After pulling over in a safe location, found right high beam, right low beam, right front blinker, right fog lamp, right rear blinker, and taillight out. Upon further research and troubleshooting, found 30 amp lighting fuse in under-hood fuse box severely melted. Additional research revealed that this is a common vw problem and should be recalled.

The contact owns a 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the front and rear lights malfunctioned. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The dealer replaced the fuse under warranty. The contact did not have an issue with the light after the repair. The contact did not call the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 42,000.

Drivers side head light went out took car to dealer for replacement and was told that the engine compartment fuse box was melting and it needed to be replaced which we did so that the car would not catch on fire at a cost of over $500. 00.

I started up the car and multiple dash warnings then went off. The epc light, check engine light and the head lamps warnings all turned on. I then popped the hood and opened up the fuse box to make sure the fuses were seated correctly. Upon checking the fuses I noticed the box itself was melted and scorched meaning there had been fire at some point under the hood. I then took my Volkswagen to the closest vw dealership service station. It cost $400 (michigan) to replace the fuse box, also leaving me questioning if this will happen again. After some investigation online I found that this is not rare. The vw dealership that did the repair stated that this was the 8th one he himself has done. Hopefully this does not happen again. Lights randomly going out is a safety hazard,and could lead to car accidents, injurys, and fatalities.

Fuse at fuse box under hood melted (not blowing) a 30amp fuse. Several light warnings came on after occurrence. Headlamp, marker lights, tag lights did not work.

Apparently, the top portion of my fusebox melted when the temperatures in chicago reached 100 degrees. The effected area controls the lighting on the right side of the car, and may also impact the power steering and traction control. Although the car is just out of warranty, this is a dangerous situation if the fusebox is not designed to withstand normal hot temperatures given that the entire car is impacted by the fuse box, loss of electronic controls in a car with computer technology that controls all of the functions of the car is a dangerous situation.
