Seats Problems of Volkswagen Tiguan

The emergency brake came on and the engine turned off on its own , may be a faulty sensor in the seat. Sensor is detecting no one is in the drivers seat, and you are sitting in it. Car put on emergency brake and shut engine off at red light, as it turned green and you move foot from brake to gas pedal, putting car at risk of collision from behind. Dealership said they can’t reproduce this and therefore can’t fix it. Told don’t move when you’re driving by dealership. Car gave no warning. Happens at red lights and while backing up in reverse. The problem appeared on the evening I received car. Dealership said the service supervisor drove car and can’t get it to reproduce problem, so can’t fix it. Told don’t move while driving. Your car is ready showed service advisor on the instrument panel in the car diagram the front two seats are not registering in the diagram, took car back into service and provided loaner once again.

The engine started smoking at 11,000 and new valve seals were replaced in the head. The engine has started to smoke again at 16,800 mile and dealer said the next step would be to replace the head. Car has been to the dealer 6-7 times for electrical and engine problems. The sos light comes on almost every morning. Driver seat memory does not work and dealer can't figure it out after 5-6 times, they have replaced about everything on the seat and it still doesn't work.

Water pump melted and needed to be replaced, car won't start, airbag light is on and clock spring needed to be replaced, heated seat gets extremely hot on driver's side when turned on.

Sunroof drains are not draining correctly causing vehicle to flood when there is precipitation, flooring is wet/molded, seat belts have mold on them, unpleasant smell, and condensation collects on the windows. Also causing water marks/stains on vehicles exterior body.

Water coming in through sunroof and pooling in the back seat foot pans. Only reason I was aware was first because someone with the same vehicle told me it happened to them and second I began to see moisture and ice on the inside of the windshield. Also began to have a mold odor. This lead to corrosion of the floor pans and damage to electrical wiring. Unknown what other long term damage could be caused.

My Volkswagen Tiguan 2016 with 28,00 miles driver's seat is peeling/cracking. It is still under warranty. Volkswagen will not pay for its repair. I paid $3000 extra for extended warranty via the dealer ourisman of bethesda-they informed me the extended warranty will not cover it. I have spoken to the Volkswagen's corporate office and ourisman several times about this situation.

Was sitting in car driving, felt uncomfortable warming sensation under my butt on seat. Figured it was nothing, kept driving. About 20 minutes later noticed a burning smell. Thought it was something wrong with the engine and burning smell coming through air vents. Would check when home. Got home, got out of car, looked down, burnt/melted holes in the car seat. Heating from the inside seat warmer slightly had burned up through the outside seat.

My husband was driving my vehicle and I sat in the passenger seat turned on the heated seating and after about 2 min I started to smell plastic burning my leg was burning and we seen smoke in the car and pulled over. When I got out the car my seat had a hole in it with smoke billowing out.

Driver seat back support failure. I was at the intersection of alameda and chambers, in aurora, CO. The light turned green and I put my foot on the gas pedal to proceed forward, a bicyclist darted out in front of me so I quickly hit the brake pedal to avoid hitting him. At that moment my back support dropped back into a flat recline position. My vehicle did not travel 3 ft, nor did I reach any speed over 3 mph. I made a right turn into a parking lot to see if I could lift the seat but it appeared to be locked into the flat position. I drove the vehicle to the vw dealership to have it inspected. I was told that my seat operated correctly and that they were able to get it upright again. But were unable to determine why the seat fell backwards or failed. I'm concerned that there is a mechanical or electrical issue with seat and that if I'm in an accident that the seat will fail and that I could be severely injured or worse.

Smelled something burning. Passenger noticed their seat was hot. Discovered burn spots in the passenger seat.

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated while driving 65 mph the contact attempted to raise the passenger seat from the reclined position but the seat would not move. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis but was informed the seats were designed not to raise while the vehicle was being driven unless the driver physically lifted the seat for the passenger. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and also stated the seat was operating as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 30,000. Rvk.

I have a 2009 vw Tiguan. The front seats are heated cloth. Yesterday, the passenger seat malfunctioned and burned a hole in the seat. I am taking it to the dealership on 12/22/10.

2010 vw le Tiguan purchased new and immediately the back-up camera comes on while driving stating that you can't use the back-up camera while driving. While service tried to fix several times, it continues to date. Water pump failed while driving, trunk hatch mechanism failed and had to be replaced and drivers door lock and window lock failed and new door replaced. Electrical box fuses melted and had to be replaced and the front passenger seat warmer overheated and melted the seat causing full replacement of seat (from the factory in germany). Engine manifold flap failed and had to be replaced. Integrated ipod jack has never worked correctly. Moon roof drain failed causing the inside of the vehicle to have ice on the windows and windshield causing the whole mechanism to be replaced.
