3 years ago the vehicle has problems with sensors, this year the engine light is on, the auto repair shop worker checked the car and described that turbocharger is leaking air, they offer me to it replace for $3000. The car was in motion in city street when the light pump up. Except of the light the car is driving as usually.
The instrument panel displays fault: abs/stabilization control. Tire pressure error and airbag error when driving and car begin to slow down while I was driving down a city highway at 60 mph.
I bought a car from vw south orlando 7 month ago and since than I had a lot of issue with the car engine light was going on and off I been their like 5 times now and just pissing me off I want a replacement car.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan. The air bag warning light was illuminated the steering wheel features became in operable. The local dealer was not contacted and the vehicle was not diagnosed respired. The manufacturer was contacted but did not assist. . The failure mileage was 56,000. The contact stated the failure was similar to NHTSA campaign number 15v483000 air bags. The VIN was not available. Ap.
While riding on the expressway with my wife driving, everything on the dashboard as well as the radio started flickering on and off then we lost power steering. Just about every code lite up from the engine light, brake light and got a message saying epc & abs failure.
Two separate problems. #1 on two separate occasions the cars emergency system activated with no cars or anything in proximity. Vw just cleaned sensors . It happened once after that while parking the car. #2 with only 8000 miles on the brakes pulse when applied. We were told just wait for 1 year service and it will be looked at. The Tiguan went in Friday morning and we were informed the brake rotors are warped. Vw north America recommend rotors and associated hardware to fix the problem. Troublesome issue with only 10000 miles les than I year old.
Drain tubes in the sunroof were corroded and leaking into the car. The water leak causes many electrical problems including short circuiting the passenger side airbag. The water leak is also causing lighting issues on inside of car. There is also many problems with the esc light coming on just after it being serviced. The esc light will come on while driving causing the car to slow down and wont let you accelerate.
The parking brake is permanently shorted out. I bought this as a used certified pre-owned vehicle. I've had to replace the battery in less than one year. Chronic problems with general braking system. Severe electrical problems. Example: my radio will mot stay off, when car is parked, key removed and alarm is set. Radio still runs. I get the message "cannot read sd card" on the console. I have had to jump my brand new battety 10-15 times. That is less than six months old. Vw America has ignored my requests for help, and it allegedly is still under the cop warranty and under manufacturer warranty as well. The car is unstable on the freeway, doesn't steer well and I'm afraid I'll have a severe accident.
I bought my car July 6th, 2018, got the oil changed in August 2018, and everything was fine until October 1,2018 when the epc light came on and about 1minute later the engine light came on. I was turning onto my street in my neighborhood when it happened and immediately called the auto shop where I'd recently gotten my oil changed. They told me to bring it the next day but I looked in the users manual and it said to drive to my nearest dealership. So I called the dealership and they said to bring it at 8:15 on October 3rd. I took it and dropped it off. I called before they closed to get an update on the diagnosis and they told me they suggested a 100k maintenance service and new battery. They said the battery caused the slow start and they checked the codes and it said fault in timing correlation which was caused by low oil pressure and they didn't see oil on the dipstick. So, I asked if the suggested maintenance would fix the issues and if that's why the service lights came on and she told me yes! I then went to the dealership to get final clarification of what was going on and she told me after the maintenance everything was fine and he just needed to test drive it and I could come back in an hour. So she called after an hour and said they finished and I could get my car. I paid them and she told me there were no problems and I would probably need rear tires and brakes and an oil change and the 110k mile service in a year or 10k miles- whichever comes first. I got in the car and before I left the dealership the epc light came on. I got out, went back inside and told her and she told me they needed to pull it back around and I left with my mom and she called hours later and said I needed a timing chain and tensioner. I asked why they didn't see that before and she said they hadn't looked at it closely enough. Then said she'll call back tomorrow.
Vehichles auto on off power system enables while turning, stopped, or parked if seatbelt is buckled. Turns made complicated if engines auto stop comes on. The safety alert that stops your car in case of a collision stops my car with none or thing in front or on the side of it. My backup camera stays on consistently when driving forward. The electronic middle console constantly freezes up and won't allow me to do anything or goes completely black. This has happened multiple times including the most recent in this complaint. The engine also jerks forward and is very dangerous trying to pull out onto a busy street. When I mentioned this to the dealership they said the car need to learn how I drive. It has 6600 miles on it?.
My airbag light stays on in the car it is my dashboard I have had it reset and it still keeps coming on and it says airbag error what can I do about this.
Car was driven to from friends house to grandmothers house and shut car off and was visiting family for 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. Takata recall I bought this car on 2015,used with 35. 000 miles, and I got warranty. While I was driving on highway to take my little kids -18 month old daughter, and 2 months old boy,on the daycare,I heard noise, like clicking ,and like a broken thing. I tried to use the horn. It didnt work. And on my dashboard I saw the warning light of airbags. And all the electrical was not working. I stopped in oneside of highway and called my husband. It was really scary situation. The steering wheels is to hard to turn left and right. I panic about this, because I have little kids that I have to take at daycare everyday. I start searching about this issue when I saw the recalls . For Volkswagen Tiguan ,2014. I called recalls customer service. The person who answered his name is greg g and he told me I had to go ,to do an diagnostic screening for my vehicle. So I went in a vw dealer here in austin . And there they figured out. The air bag clock spring was broken. After him a lady named evelyn f. Called me to ask also for the diagnostic screening,to fix the problem. After I sent to her the paper I got from vw. She called me and said we will not do that. It is not our problem. I am really anxious about this. I don't have another vehicle to move. Everyday I am facing very dangerous and unsafe situations. I can't use the horn, while I am driving and I feel unsafe using the Volkswagen. I am europian and while I was living in europe. I was using always Volkswagen and for me was on top. Right know I cant believe how unsafe is for me and my little kids. I need a solution for my situation. Urgent solution.
Driving in cold weather and slow enough speed, the electronic stabilization control light went on, indicating esc failure. The steering and brakes alternately and simultaneously failed. Stepping on the brakes produced no response at all. Car was out of control.
I was on a city street in nova scotia with the family in vacation, I was driving like 50 km/h and epc light and engine light came on and on the dash board it said engine fault workshop . My car was starting to act weird , not taking speed , not changing gears my acceleration pedal was pushed at max and it seems like the car was loosing speed. I pull over on the side of the road turn engine off and wait for 4-5 min , when I star car again epc light was off only engine light remain on and no message on the board. Car seems to be good for driving. I reach at the camp ground where we wore and park the car. 20-30 min later my wife want to take a load of laundry to the camp laundry place and wash them, I give her the key for car and when she tried to start , the car wasn't starting. I unplug battery pug it back in nothing was working. I call a toe track to take the car to a vw shop in truro (vantage motors). They told me they fix the problem, they have to change a relay 460 under the driver dash and move a fuse #5 to #7 under the hood and they took the car for a test drive and everything was good, now I can come and pick the car from them 279$ bill. Because I was in a such a hurry to get back home in new brunswick I didn't check to see if car is fully operational, and I didn't have to, because they told me they took it for a test drive. Now on my way down to home I realize my fans are not working, cigarette plugs, windshield pumps on front and back, and windshield wiper on the back are not working, I call the vw shop in truro to find out what is the problem and if is a way for me to fix it. They told me it can be multiple problems to take the car when I reach home to my vw shop in st. John nb.
While driving (regardless of speed), the car will randomly unlock and lock itself. Sometimes it happens in rapid succession 2-3 timesin other instances, it'll happen just once. . . . Which is to say they'll unlock only. When this happens, I will lock the door again, and it'll unlock again. It happens to both the front drivers side and front passenger side. I haven't noticed this happened while the car is parked and there's absolutely no consistency to it. This has been occurring for the last 3 years randomly and I just recently thought to report it.
My Tiguan only running 50k miles broke down in the middle of the highway. The engine light went on and the car stopped accelerating. When I towed it to the mechanic, I was told the timing chain tensioner and crankshaft sensor were bad. The timing chain tensioner defect caused complete engine failure. I now do not have an engine. After looking into this issue and talking to some lawyers all over the us, it seems like many people with vw Tiguans (2. 0l engines) have this issue and there are a few class action law suits in the us regarding this matter. I spoke to vw of America and they said there was no recall issued, although they are aware of this defect. Vw dealership now tells me the estimated cost to repair the engine and timing chain tensioner is around $10,000. If the timing chain tensioner was not defective, my engine would have never failed. I showed them proof of oil changes over the last 3 years in which were all done in a timely manner. I am now fighting with vw of America about this issue. There should be a recall on these vehicles. My car immediately broke down on the highway and I was very lucky that no one crashed into me. This is a very dangerous problem.
I was one the high way 1, and I drove about 10 minutes. All of a sudden, my car shut off while driving. The battery light came on and car died. The wheel was even locked. Basically, I was stocked on the highway! then, I restarted my car on the high way 1, and it worked again. The dealer can not find any issue, and the same issues happened to me twice with two months. Now, I have to report this in order to protect myself.
Serveral times while driving my SUV many failure indicator lights indicating epc falure, tire monitoring system failure, license plate light not working, left turn signal not working, brakes lights do not light up, esc not functioning. Trunk also will not unlock. It seemed like every system warning light this car has came on showing system failures. Everytime this has happened my car loses power and barely wants to move or stalls all together having the automobiles behind me almost rear end my SUV. This SUV with these problems is a accident waiting to happen & someone if not me driving these SUV's will get into an accident if vw doesn't find the right problem to correct this safety issue so many owners are having the same electrical problems I read online plus the ones who have filed a complaint already.
There are 2 separate incidents. First incident approx. Nov. 26. Proceeding up a steep hill when the car suddenly decelerated. Pressing on gas pedal did not result in increased speed. Needed to shift to manual transmission mode to regain control of the car. Second incident on Dec. 27. Proceeding down a steep hill at approx. 45 mph. Posted speed limit is 45mph. Pavement is dry, visibility is miles. Sky is overcast. While driving down the hill the vehicle suddenly went into deceleration from 45 to ~ 30mph. Pressing on the gas pedal did not result in speed increase. Needed to shift car into manual transmission mode to gain control of the car back. Third incident on Jan. 5. Proceeding on city street at less than posted speed limit. Suddenly car has no power. All electrical is off. Must move car to side of road. After getting the car out of traffic and stopped, was able to restart. All above incidents are reported to vw and car is in for service. Vw reports no issues with the car.
For no apparent reason many indicator lights signal at the same time indicating tire monitoring system not available, license plate light not working, left turn signal not working, brakes lights do not light up, esc not functioning. Trunk also will not unlock. It can be reset (I think, it worked on one episode) by multiple (10-15 times starting and restarting car) as this default has only happened a few times and I have been away from home I am unsure exactly what resets it. Starting and restarting the vehicle this many times can not be good for the vehicle engine etc. The vehicle system did this error a few times over a couple of days, stopped then starting doing it again. Vehicle drives differently when the error occurs. It starts out from a stopped position and the vehicle feels more like it is driving with the rear tires and feels like it is slipping. These defaults are extremely dangerous, had to drive home post snow storm with all of these malfunctions, no brake lights and no left turn signal and no esc. Vehicle only has 28,700 miles on it.
Apparently, the top portion of my fusebox melted when the temperatures in chicago reached 100 degrees. The effected area controls the lighting on the right side of the car, and may also impact the power steering and traction control. Although the car is just out of warranty, this is a dangerous situation if the fusebox is not designed to withstand normal hot temperatures given that the entire car is impacted by the fuse box, loss of electronic controls in a car with computer technology that controls all of the functions of the car is a dangerous situation. Thanks.
