The failure recurred recently and the contact stated that the failure recurred less than 30,000 miles later. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 80,000. The VIN was not available.

2 Driveshaft problem

Failure Date: 05/27/2010

The contact owns a 2005 Volkswagen Touareg. While driving at 35 mph, the contact heard an unusual rattling noise. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where a defect was found in the driveshaft. The contact called the manufacturer who confirmed their knowledge of the failure but would provide no assistance. The vehicle was repaired at the contacts expense. In addition, the transmission valves were defective. The vehicle was currently at the dealership awaiting repairs. The current and failure mileages were approximately 70,000.

3 Driveshaft problem

I have a 2005 Touareg with 74,000 miles. I had to replace the drive shaft after because of a faulty ball bearing which produced a high pitched noise.
