I have a 2008 Volkswagen Touareg 2 which was purchased new with pirelli tires. At approximately 12,000 miles, I noticed a vibration in the steering and took my car in to the dealer. The dealer found nothing wrong at that time. The car started to pull to the right at about 20,000 miles and again I took the car to the dealer. The dealer would not align the tires because they said that there were too many highs and lows in the tires although I had done everything required by the dealer. I called pirelli who said that the tires should be rotated every three to four thousand miles but vw says that they only rotate at 10,000. After filing a complaint with vw the dealer offered two new tires but I had to pay for the other two. Not a satisfactory solution as the dealer would not give me the two tires without my personal purchase of two more. The dealer claimed they didn't know that the pirelli suggested rotating at 3,000 miles.

This 2005 Touareg has given me problems since I got. First it was always the headlights that gave me trouble, then the tires wore out way before the time, the braking system had to be replaced all the way around at about 30,000, now the transmission is slipping or jumping , the coating on the door and on the heating vents is peeling off, I had to have the lock on the door fixed cause that never worked. This truck has been a serious problem since I got it and I feel like it is a lemon.

Multiple engine light failures for over 4 years. Engine light came on and engine shut down immediately while wife was on the freeway. Very dangerous. . . Essentially no warning. Have replaced wiring harness in the vehicle and have had it in the shop for electrical issues many times. Unsafe handling and acceleration. . . Car jumps forward at stops while it is downshifting. Think the transmission, tires and brakes should be tested. Think you will find they are defective. Engine blew up at 44,000 miles. Very dangerous car. . And you will find other Touaregs with similar issues. Should be recalled.

I lease a 2005 Touareg v6 and all tires of the car are worm out after 8k miles. Maker refuses to deal with the problem. One of the tires also has a deep crack. The lease vehicle return final inspection came out with 150$ charge for each tire.
- the contact stated that while driving the 2004 Volkswagen torgue with 31000 failure mileage at any rate of speed the tps monitoring system light turned on, and staysed on until the vehicle was restarted a couple of times. Also, the vehicle pulled to the front passenger side and was wearing out the tires and brakes on that side.
Front tires wear at 8-10,000 miles, first set replaced and given a new alignment however now second set worn as well. Volkswagen refuses to remedy even though they know of the numerous complaints involving tire wear.
6700 miles and my front tires are already bare!!.
Tires keep getting worn out.
Alignment: since its purchase the car was not properly aligned. I took it to the dealer several times, at the 5,000 miles, 10,000 miles, and 20,000 miles services. It was not fixed at all. The repair sheet stated that car was fixed to the manufacturer's standards. At the 20,000 miles service I requested the car to repaired before I take it back. The dealer told me that due to the uneven tires there was no way for them to repair the alignment, and that the only way to fix it properly was to replace the tires first. I replaced the tires and brought the car back. The dealer had the car in the shop for three days the first time. When I tested the car after the first time it was not fixed. I took it back and had a dispute with the technician. When other technicians tested the car the dealer decided to keep for repair. The car was at the shop for two days. When it was finally done, the car had the same problem. Computer system: lights and signals periodically stop working. Gas sensor periodically stops working for days. Cd player. Periodically skips and does not work. Transmission: periodic jerking when shifting to lower speeds. Screeching sound comes from the front right side after 20 -30 minutes of driving. Tires were worn out after 10,000 miles.
Oem grandtrek tires are a disgrace. 1 side-wall tear, 1 internal shredding, and 3 blow outs within 15,000. Replaced soon thereafter.
Dunlop grandtrack 8000 255x60x17 tires are worn to the wear line (all4) after 20955 miles. Tires are on 2004 vw. Tires were inspected and show no problems other than wear. Dunlop will not replace, vw has not replaced tires. Tires on a $42k vehicle should last longer than 21,000 miles. Replacement is est at $1154. 00.
Vw Touareg 2004. The contact states that the air bag sensor is on; this means the air bags are disabled. The air bags have been repaired once, but it happened again. The vehicle will be taken in to a service dealer today. Also, at 9,000 miles all four tires had to be replaced. The service dealer stated that it was unusual wear from the vehicle, and to contact the tire manufacturer.
I currently own a 2005 v-6 Volkswagen Touareg. The vehicle has less than 15,000 miles. Approximately 3 months after owning vehicle, the vehicle exemplified obvious shifting concerns as well as poor gas mileage. The transmission was replaced in hopes to correct the issues described above, however, it has not improved. I was asked to drive the vehicle for at least another 6 months to a year, to break it in. In this time, my car has worsened. The shifting is more erratic, losing power, jumping gears, and nearly stalling when taking off from a stop and at intersections. As a result of the erratic shifting, I have been nearly rear-ended. My car has been in 5 times for 3 to 8 days at a time. The dealership has not been able to duplicate this issue, since it has replaced the transmission. The only service the manufacturer has done to my vehicle in hopes to correct the poor shifting and poor gas mileage (11-12 mpg) is computer software updates. None of which have ever fixed the problems. In addition, with each month that passes, new mechanical problems arise. The seat adjustments fail, along with the radio, the trunk hatch, the airbag, etc. The car overheats and smoke comes from the tires & wheels, of which the manufacturer took notice to, but could not determine the cause. The service department at Volkswagen has had 5-6 attempts to service the multiple problems since may 2005 and it is now January 07 and my car is still in the shop for the same problems. In addition, the tires (w/ pads/rotors (sp?) are completely worn, and the vehicle has only 12k miles.
Concerns regarding the perrelli tire equipment on the 2004. . . . The tires on this vehicle were much too soft for the weight of this vehicle. The tires wore out in less than 8000 miles. This created a dangerous situation on the roadways not onlly for this vehicle but for other vehicles as wellvolkswagagen's policy is to replace two tires, forcing consumers to pay for the other tires.
Tires on SUV does not support the weight of the vehicle. The consumers 2004 vw toureg needed new tires at 11000 miles. The tires the vehicle came with were dunlop 255/60r17 106h. The consumer stated that the book gives an example of an 18 inch tire stating that consumers should make sure the tire supports the weight of the vehicle.
Consumers vehicle is experiencing erratic shifting. When accelerating from a stop car will hesitate and jerk. This problem seems to only occure whil the transmission is in lower gears. The vehicle has been taken to the deler at least three times but they have not been able to locate or fix the problem. The consuemr has also contacted tehe manufcature but they provided no assistance. The tire have excessive wear at only 16000 miles.
