Random engine hesitancy reducing acceleration while driving. Vehicle maintained by the dealer for all scheduled maintenance and service visits. Within 30 days of a manufacture's repair that dealt with the hvac and air filter and a service visit to change oil and rotate tires, the hesitancy during driving was more pronounced. The dealer's service center stated the air filter was flooded from an hvac leak and a clog. I have found similar owners have had problems like this and vw will not address it systemically. I otherwise enjoy my vehicle, but am concerned that it will not accelerate when needed and is potentially dangerous without warning. It should not take loss of life or property to have this corrected.

While driving the vehicle it will slow down and will not accelerate even while pressing the gas. It may even cut off. I have to keep pushing the pedal maybe 3 to 5 times before it will accelerate. This happens even on the freeway. I don't drive it anymore because of fear I might have an accident.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Volkswagen Touareg. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle did not accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 132,000.

There has been a substantial change/decrease in the performance of my 2012 Touareg tdi resulting in significantly reduced fuel economy: previous avg fuel economy was approx 27mpg and is now barely averaging 16 mpg. Noticed continual decrease in car performance after taking my car in for general maintenance to garcia vw dealership in santa fe, nm on the following dates: 3/6/general maintenance (air/cabin/fuel/adblue maintenance/ and tire change) 4/17/replace a faulty radio which suddenly failed (dealership had car for 8 days) 6/7/clean up ad blue fuel spill in the rear spare tire compartment the engine now runs significantly louder and is revving up and surging at intervals. In addition to the substantial drop in fuel economy, the average speed/mph has been locked at 13mph and dropped to 12mph on June 1, 2018. Change in engine behaviour: -engine runs louder and is revving up when idling, accelerating, breaking, downshifting -sounds like the fuel injection is sluggish when accelerating -steering wheel feels sluggish when turning right and accelerating through turns. Vibrating sound when turning. -starting ignition: longer pause for ignition to start after turning the key and foot is on brake. -suspension: suspension of the car rocks back and forth when braking and sounds like there's a tank sliding/ shifting in the rear when coming to a stop. When I initially heard this sound I opened the trunk/cargo area for the spare tire and found dried ad blue spilled all over the cargo area including dirty rags which had been used to wipe up adblue and stuffed in the bottom of the trunk. -air conditioner is emitting a very strong nauseating yeast odor that will not go away and isn't cooling efficiently. I havent authorized or approved any updates modifications to the vehicle the 3. 0 liter gen epa/carb modifications: I suspect vehicle tampering.

While traveling at night on a 4 lane highway at 70 mph in heavy traffic the vehicle went into limp mode without warning or any symptoms of a power problem. We had to move across four lanes of car and truck traffic while rapidly decelerating. Luck and skill prevailed to avoid a serious and potentially fatal accident. No warning indicators were displayed. Safely in the breakdown lane the vehicle continued an approximately 1300 rpm idle and would move at about 15- 20mph. I stopped the vehicle and the acclerator pedal continued to be unresponsive. I placed the vehicle in neutral with no change in the ability to increase rpm with the accelerator. I shifted back to drive and normal acceleration function returned. We drove another 35-40 minutes without further problems. The next morning the vehicle drove normally and I took it to the vw dealer. Their diagnostic review showed no issues and no malfunctions were detected.

This is an ongoing problem since we took possession of the vehicle. Unpredictable and inconsistent acceleration stumble: this occurs unpredictably and generally from a standing start. One depresses the accelerator and the car does not accelerate. It decelerates -then it recovers often abruptly. This puts the driver and passengers in peril of a crash from oncoming traffic.

My Volkswagen Touareg has a "hesitation" when accelerating affectionately known in vw circles as "death lag". Many times when attempting to accellerate the vehicle will just sit there for 3-10 seconds even if the accellerator pedal is depressed all the way. This has nearly caused numerous accidents with some avoided only by oncoming traffic swerving and skidding to a stop while my vehicle sits still in traffic.

The vehicle hesitates on acceleration, and this happens intermittently. While stepping on the gas pedal and the vehicle hesitates. The consumer took the vehicle to dealer, and they said this was normal, but they did say Volkswagen programmed a delay in the computer chip. There is no forewarning, no lights come on, and there is no noise. This first happened on March 1, 2005.
The consumer stated that 2004, Volkswagen toureg experienced loss of acceleration when pulling out. When the car is started in the mornings it is fine, but after the car sits for a couple of hours it starts having a delay in the acceleration when pulling out. This has been happening for a couple of months. The car has been to the dealership three or four times, and they could not fix the problem. The dealer said they were waiting on Volkswagen to come up with a solution. The consumer called Volkswagen, and they said that the consumer should keep working within the terms of the warranty until the problem was solved. The problem at this point seemed to be intermittent. At this point no one knows what is wrong with the car.
When the vehicle has slowed to a near stop and the accelerator is depressed, it initially hesitates, then surges forward. This prevents the driver from accelerating smoothly and could be a safety concern. I think the engine ecu may need a software update.
While attempting to accelerate from a stop the vehicle would not accelerate then stall. Consumer stated there was no power. Consumer took vehicle to the dealer, and problem recurred. The dealer flashed the transmission but the problem recurred.
Difficult to control acceleration surge when starting off from at stop position. Acceleration is not linear. Remote key fob works intermittently. Programmable convenience programs lose programming. Tire monitor often displays erroneous warnings.
Vw tourage- several times when starting from a stop the engine loses power as the vehicle begins to accelerate. This has placed me in situation where on coming traffic narrowly stopped before colliding with me. I have had the vehicle in the shop and will be taking it again next Monday;however, they have not found the problem. The dealer has suggested it has something to do with a safety devive that is some way connected to the braking system.
The vehicle occasionally hesitated badly on acceleration from a stop. (consumer letter add to received on 04/26/2004). Consumer still experienced intermittent hesitation on acceleration especially when coming from a stop.
I have a 2004 vw Touareg that either fails to accelerate or is very erratic in accelerating from a stop. The dealer says it is a soft ware proplem but has no fix. This car is very dangerous to drive.
When accelerating from a very slow speed or a "rolling" stop, the car hesitates or stalls before accelerating, then lurches forward. This problem occurs randomly, but consistently. When driving up a hill to a stop, the vehicle regularly jumps forward at the last downshift in the stopping process. This is dangerous and threatens my safety, those around me in traffic, my passengers, and other potential drivers of my vehicle. I've been told by Volkswagen of America & my dealer that this is the way this SUV is designed to perform. The fact that the "hesitations/stalls" occur at random only furthers my point that this is clearly a defect and not "just the way this model drives" and "you just have to get used to it" as I was told by the service manager at martens vw.
