Due to a leak in either the sunroof or the windshield water continuously drips down every time it rains onto the floorboard of the driver side of this vehicle, creating a sopping wet floor board that has 2 inches of water, which in turn soaks the whole electrical system for this vehicle. I mean the water continuously drips from the time you purchase this vehicle until forever I guarantee that anybody who has a v8 version of the 2005 Volkswagen Touareg has a sopping wet driver, side floor board! the water never has a chance to dry, especially in colder climates mine went into limp mode due to this electrical system, failing. Vw mechanics told me I needed a whole new engine w! when I did my research and I found out that this is very common on this model, and if there are some wires that inevitably get corroded from all the water that ruins the electrical system underneath the driver side floor board, and therefore the wires become corroded and severed which creates a real problem for the electrical system to function.

Sunroof is leaking and creates condensation and mold inside the car. I have taken it to the dealership for repair and they performed a cleaning. Couple a weeks after I have discovered the sunroof is leaking again and contact the dealership again. They claimed they only cleaned the pipes but now they need to seal the pipe. At the same time I was there the dealer mentioned he is swamped with vw cars with the same exact problem with sunroof leaking and he is backed up. This appears to be a widespread problem with all vw cars and not just my model. The design of the draining system for the sunroof is faulty and create water penetration. I have researched this extensively and spoke with a few dealerships and it appears to have been a wide spread problem with vw sunroof.

I went in vacation and left my car parked in the driveway with the windows up and doors locked. When I came back to my car the adhesive/glue must have melted due to the heat outside the car caused the rear view mirror to detach from the windshield and it is now dangling by the wires from the inside of the car/windshield.
Airbag module defective with only 54,496 miles and a $1200 cost to fix. This is a safety issue! dash lighting has went on and off for for airbag. A washer pump defective, power train transmission jumps and has been an ongoing problem and known problem by Volkswagen but nobody wants to admit the defect problem.

I was driving on 101 south from santa rosa towards san francisco and when in the novato area the rearview mirror came off dangling from the headliner by the wiring harness right on my face. The dangling rearview mirror blocked my view of the road and this big distraction nearly caused an accident. This is clearly a safety issue, rearview mirrors should not just randomly fall off. I strongly believe that Volkswagen ought to have a recall for this defective mirror and perform a repair at vw's expense. My aaa certified mechanic quoted me in excess of $700. 00 to re-glue the rearview mirror to the windshield.
Walked outside on Sunday morning to see my rear view mirror was dangling by wires. They say it cost 700+ dollars to repair because of the rain sensor that is behind the mirror. Original front glass and mirror. There is no reason why it should have fell. If it would have happened to me while driving, it could have caused an accident and endangered my life. This needs to be considered to a recall due to multiple issues with other Touaregs. Please review this claim as any other but note that it could be a serious issue with safety. Thank you for your time and hard work!.
