Two problems related to frame and members have been reported for the 2000 Volvo 770. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Within the first 7,000 miles, vehicle became unstable, driveline vibrations, looseness in steering, rough ride, numerous attempts were made to correct condition. Problem caused by loose front crossmember allowing frame to twist. When fuel tanks are full the front axle is overweight.
The location of the fuel tanks causes the front axle to become overweight when fuel is added to both tanks, Volvo agreed to make changes by stretching the chassis and moving the tanks farther back, however the changes would void the warranty.
