12 problems related to suspension have been reported for the 2000 Volvo 770. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The vehicle is experiencing premature ateer axle tire wear, cupping and severe front end vibration.
The vehicle has experienced premature steer axle tire wear which is causing severe front end vibration.
The driver side window shattered. The brakes squeaked, there was a noise coming from the front of the vehicle, the engine raced when the truck was in neutral, the transmission jumped in and out of gear, the gauges on the lcd display were acting erractically.
The u bolts on the drive axles are undersized and fail prematurely. The front axle of the vehicle is heavy causing premature tire wear. The manufacturer has now made kits for u bolts replacement available to correct the defect, consumer was also informed that the tires had never been balanced which was also causing premature tire wear.
Consumer states tires are experiencing wear at 60000 miles and less, tanks were set back, however vibration is still occurring on front, shaking the computer out of the dash.
The truck becomes over weight upon filling both fuel tanks. Also the steer tires wore out on one side.
Vehicle experienced excessive steer tire wear at 80,000 miles, manufacturer notified.
Vehicle is constanly out of alignment.
Consumer stated truck experienced suspension problems and steer tire wear.
The vehicle has no stability whether bobtail or with a heavy load due to suspension problem. Consumer stated that the truck was so sloppy it was dangerous to drive.
Consumer states that the front end makes a popping noise, there was also a ride height adjustment.
Vehicle is expereincing overweight steer axle problems,clutch problems becasue the forks wear in to the pressure plates, electrical problems with the dash, and the drivers window shattered.
