In the first week of ownership, the seals in the front wheels began leaking, then about 9 months later while driving, there was a grinding noise and a bump from the front end, consumer pulled over and saw nothing, so he started up the vehicle and hit the gas, the steering was gone and consumer lost control of the vehicle which went into a ditch and ended up tipping over, consumer saw that the wheel was sheared off clean on the inside, consumer stated there was a problem with the axle weight, however Volvo states this had nothing to do with the accident, consumer was injured in accident and Volvo has since reposessed the vehicle, the owners address may not be correct, it was stamped over.

5 Steering problem of the 1998 Volvo 770

Owner reports regular occurrence of steering wheel "lock-up". Reports that wheel frequently lock after 1/2-3/4 revolution of steer wheel while maneuvering at low speeds or while accelerating from stop. Upon locking, steering wheel must be force to regain movement .

6 Steering problem of the 2001 Volvo 770

The vehicle is experiencing front end problems, shakes, and the weight is heavy. Other problems are as followed: the starter had gone out, oil leak, seal between the engine and the transmission, and the steering feels soft when shaking. The average miles of the steer tires are 80k.
