Door problems of the 1996 Volvo 960

Five problems related to door have been reported for the 1996 Volvo 960. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Door problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2001

The rear passenger doors stick and cannot be opened from the inside. When handle is pulled from outside, door panel separates from door frame. This especially happens in hot, humid weather.

2 Door problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2000

Thermostat was sticking, causing vehicle to overheat, when consumer got vehicle back, he had to take it back because the coolant cap and reservoir were not holding pressure. Radiator neck was broken. Ignition coils had hair line fractures. Inside door handle was loose and needed replaced. Brake pads and rotors were replaced. Battery failed.

3 Door problem

Failure Date: 12/08/1997

Right rear inside door handle broken. Nlm.

4 Door problem

Failure Date: 12/14/1996

Left rear outside door seal failed.

5 Door problem

Failure Date: 05/01/1996

Remote control entry system fails intermittantly to unlock doors.
