Odometer fraud from dealership - vehicle was sold with an odometer reading of 21,812. A few weeks after the purchase the car had problems and was taken to a repair shop who noted that the vehicle looked like it had many more miles on it. Through car fax we found that the car had over 90,000 miles. We bought from a dealership that is part of a large auto group and presumed proper due diligence was done. While we did get a refund, we feel it is important to file a complaint should there be others out there in the same situation.
Consumer was traveling about 40mph on higway in rush hour traffic and engine check light came on dashboard panel. She pulled over to the shoulders. Vehicle started overheating. Dealership was aware of problem.
With no indication of overheating the engine overheated and was destroyed. The only idiot light to come on was the check engine light and that was after black smoke was coming from the engine. The temperature gauge never registered outside of the normal range and no other warning lights were activated. The engine needs to be replaced according to Volvo but this is not covered under my extended warranty because they state it does not matter that the gauges malfunctioned and they can not be tested anyway because the car can not be started.
