Steering Problems of Volvo C70

Driving down the highway, power steering went out all of a sudden making it very difficult to steer. Hard to make turns. Had it inspected next day- and the power steering line had ruptured. I now have to have the entire line replaced.

The rear camber arms of the Volvo c 70 are failing at an alarming rate. Not only are tires wearing unevenly at owners expense, the failure of the arms causes the car to become totally uncontrollable. Volvo in a recent publication acknowledged the problem with their original equipment but yet fails to issue a recall and replace order.

The key won't turn for the ignition. This is a known problem with the dealership but Volvo won't recognize the problem. The cost to fix this at the dealership is approx 800 dollars. My fear is that this problem will leave u stranded and more importantly I fear this will progress and lock the steering wheel while you are driving.

Car has been at a recognized auto repair facility and has been having maintenance work performed. It was seen that the car had suffered a complete failure of the power steering rack with the housing fracturing, and all of the power steering fluid being lost. There was no impact and the housing appears crystalline at the break. There was no impact causing this damage, which had the failure occurred at highway speeds could have had severe consequences.

Car began shaking when driving. Pulled over to check the tires and did not observe a flat. When I restarted the car and pulled away from the curb, the car would not accelerate but the radio and lights from the dash were still operational. Power steering no longer worked as well. Car was towed to dealership. The throttle was replaced but the car continues to shake when accelerating but does not shut off. Have taken car to another mechanic but no error codes have been detected. Car is still unreliable.
