| Mechanical Jack problems |
I deployed the car jack as directed by the manufacturer as indicated in the driver's manual. We had a flat in the right rear wheel. During the lifiting pocess, the knurled end of the screw opposite to the crank end failed. That is the end of the screw which serves to pull the sissors together while pressure is applied to the sissors at the other end of the jack by the rotation of the screw in the threaded slider at the crank end of the sissors. It failed catastrophic way with a big bang, the car dropped onto the flat tire, and luckily I was not hurt. It would apperar that the jack is a hazzard and should be recalled and replaced.
