Power Train problem #1

I came to a stop in heavy interstate traffic (35e north in st. Paul). Just as the car was almost stopped, it revved-up/surged forward. I was afraid that the brake would not hold and we would hit the car in front of us. Three young girls were in the car with me. The car has been clunking into gear at low speeds lately, hesitating from a cold start, almost cutting out when idling at stop lights and then revving up only to start the cycle over again. None of this happens at higher speeds. Also today, when I put it into drive, it surged forward immediately and I had to push my foot very hard on the brake. I am scared of this car. I already replaced the transmission at 86,000 miles. Now the second transmission only has 52,000 miles on it. This is a fatality waiting to happen. This transmission is criminal.

Automatic Transmission problem #2

Volvo xc 70 2001. Would just disengage as in neutral, engine would roar. Volvo dealer advised to get to a local mechanic since I'm 90 miles away from dealership. Mechanic said transmission fluid completely burnt up, changed. Took to Volvo 8/8/09, checked it out, everything was fine. Offered a software upgrade for $72. 8/10/09 did the same thing, local mechanic said burnt worse than the first and changed again. Driving back to ft. Collins, stalled on the interstate, had to call a tow track. Upon investigation there are tons of posts on the internet with this problem, and notices in transmission shops. Living 90 miles away I took my car to Volvo for service more than necessary. They told me they never changed the transmission fluid and have no guidelines (contrary to everything else I read, from 30k to 75k). I had a 90k tune up 12/08 & went in 6/09 for lube service. If these '01 cars are the biggest offenders, why didn't Volvo mention it, change the fluid, mention the software upgrade?.

Constant Velocity Joint problem #3

While driving there was a clicking noise from the rear right cv joint. Upon inspection of the vehicle the under carriage was full of grease and oil from the right rear cv joint. The right rear cv joint broke.
