I came to a stop in heavy interstate traffic (35e north in st. Paul). Just as the car was almost stopped, it revved-up/surged forward. I was afraid that the brake would not hold and we would hit the car in front of us. Three young girls were in the car with me. The car has been clunking into gear at low speeds lately, hesitating from a cold start, almost cutting out when idling at stop lights and then revving up only to start the cycle over again. None of this happens at higher speeds. Also today, when I put it into drive, it surged forward immediately and I had to push my foot very hard on the brake. I am scared of this car. I already replaced the transmission at 86,000 miles. Now the second transmission only has 52,000 miles on it. This is a fatality waiting to happen. This transmission is criminal.
At certain times while driving and applying the brakes they don't hold and vehicle keeps moving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer 2-3 times but they were unable to find the cause of the vehicle's sudden acceleration.
Third time item failed. This time with cars coming at me at 45mph. All of a sudden the gas pedal would not do anything. Max speed was about 5-10 miles per hour in rush hour. Very scary and upsetting to me and my wife. This is a safety hazard when the car basically quits in the middle of the highway with cars coming up your tailpipe. Please investigate. I did report the other two times to you. They were not as scarry, this one really upset us.
