Brake Master Cylinder problem #1

The contact owns a 2007 Volvo S60. While driving approximately 1 mph he applied pressure to the brake pedal and it extended without resistance to the floor. In order to operate the brake pedal he had to apply repeated pressure to it. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where he was informed that the master cylinder was failing. The vehicle was repaired but the failure continued to occur. The failure and current mileages were 60,000.

Power Assist Brake problem #2

On occasion, I will lose brake pressure and stopping strength/ability when pressing the brake pedal on a slight uphill while attempting to come to a stop. I can lift my foot off the pedal and reapply it and the full pedal feel and stopping power will return. There are certain locations that I can, at will, reproduce this occurrence, and there are other times when it has happened unexpectedly and almost caused me to drive into an intersection against opposing traffic.
