When my son got a car last December, we bought him a 2024 Volvo S60, primarily for the safety features. Since we have had the vehicle, Volvo has had a lot of issues with their infotainment system. He has contacted them many times and I had started to keep a record of how often it would glitch. If it was just music not working, no big deal. But sometimes it was the backup camera too and once the heat. He recently had a car accident. He is okay (of course shaken up) but it was a bad situation. A van had dropped a lot of items. Plumbing and metal shelving. There was a pick up who was trying to avoid it. My son tried to avoid the pick up unsuccessfully but partially because his wheels landed on metal shelving and he was sliding on the road. The accident report captured this. His car was totaled. The purpose of this email is that the car was totaled, as even though he was braking as hard as he could, his tire was sliding on that shelving so he did have quite a hard impact. Not one safety feature worked on this vehicle, not the sos, not the forward, not the airbags. My intuition is telling me it's all related to these many issues with the electronics in this car (recharge models have had this issue and been recalled). Before they dispose of the vehicle I wanted to consult with an attorney to see if we have any recourse with Volvo, especially because safety is why we bought the car. It is currently at the body shop. The infotainment has had an issue forever.

I purchased a vehicle from a dealership that was aware of faulty airbags that was returned to dealership from another consumer. I discovered the issue a few months later when airbag warning light appeared and had it repaired which included steering wheel airbag, lower knee airbag and the seat belt in September. I did know it was involved in a accident prior to purchase since carfax states airbags did not deploy. A reporter approached me in September to inform me that my vehicle was involved in a story of said dealership selling cars with faulty airbags. The Volvo service advisor and myself did reach out the dealership seeking out financial assistance which they state since the vehicle passed a multi point inspection they are not liable to assist financially. The da is aware of the situation and I am seeking damages that could have resulted in my bodily injury of lost of life.

While I was making a left turn in ice my car bumped into a curb and the side airbags deployed randomly. There is zero damage to the side of the car. Immediately the car turned off and the hazards tripped as well. Currently the car runs perfectly smooth and has no problems turning on or off.

I am unable to service my car to fix the recall, because there is no Volvo dealer where I live.
I was expected to pay over one thousand dollars to have the recall remedy performed. My home and location of car is ketchikan, alaska. There is no Volvo dealer in ketchikan and no roads connecting town with the mainland road system. The car would have to be shipped by either aircraft or oceangoing vessel to the mainland for access to a Volvo dealer. This would cost a lot of money. I perform all maintenance and repairs myself so I contacted Volvo asking then to ship me the air bag for installation. Volvo responded that I must take the car to a dealer at my own expense. The practical reality is that transporting the car to a dealer for this (or any other recall) is completely unreasonable, making it virtually impossible to have the recall repair performed unless Volvo will simply supply the part so I can install it.

My air bags malfunctioned when I was in a motor vehicle accident in this vehicle. We were hit in the front left side and both the drivers side and passenger airbags tried to deploy, but never deployed releasing a form of mist instead. This vehicle was totaled and towed away after the accident, but both me and the other person in the vehicles safety were put at risk due to this. We both flew forwards towards the dashboard/ into the steering wheel which could have resulted in much more severe injuries after the impact. The problem was not further looked into after the accident, but I just got this vehicle 2 years ago through a dealership. There were no warning lamps or symptoms of the failures before this collision occurred.
Air bag throw shards of metal but Volvo say I shouldn't drive it but won't give loaner car, they won't help us at all with the situation.
Injanuary 3, 2021, I received a recall for the front driver airbag but replacement parts were not available. Onapril 19, 2021i received a letter the parts were available were and for me to contact a Volvo dealer to replace the front driver's airbag. Free of charge. I called Volvo cars to let me know the dealers in nashville. They recommended Volvo of cool springs. I finally got an appointment on November 16,, and had my car towed to this dealer. I picked it up on November 9, with a receipt the front driver airbag module had been installed. Aftera few days I noticed my srs was showing"airbag service urgent". I resetthe srs but the message is still showing. I called Volvo cars and they agreed to tow the car to Volvo of coolsprings to check the airbag. I picked my car up the clerk tried to explain the problem was with a failed dim control module/display. The charge would be over $2000. So the receipt showed "customer declined recommendations. My srs was working fine until they supposedly replaced the airbag. My mechanic looked it over and the airbag is not connected. Volvo refused to pay another dealer to check the airbag. However, Volvo offered to tow my car to Volvo of nashville on murfreesboro road , not the orignal dealer. I refused unless they took care of the charges. I now have an a front driver airbag that is not connected. I would have to pay a dealer to find out if the airbag had been replaced. I have been driving without the recall airbag. I am filing this complaint in case of accident and to let you know the airbag recall has not been corrected. You can never talk to a mechanic at Volvo of cool springs. I called numerous times and left messages for the mechanic or manager to return my call.
Recall airbags- fuel gauge goes up and down never registers correctly.
Both front airbags deployed on its own in the garage.
Takata recall the air bag in my car is damaged. It has not blew up on me yet but it is dangerous.

I have a Volvo S60 2002- with very low miles at 114. 000. It has been garage kept a majority of it's life and is truly in mint condition. I recently took the vehicle to Volvo for maintenance check up (understandably) and also because an air-bag light came on. It reads srs airbag service urgent. Now I'm not a mechanic, but basically the airbag is in tact but the instrument cluster or dim has failed. Since it wasn't the airbag itself I wasn't sure how they were related and they explained that the cluster signals were not necessarily reaching the airbag. As a mother and knowing Volvo has a lot of airbags I was curious as to which ones were affected and they said they can not guarantee that any of them would deploy in a crash. Now this is a costly problem $2300 as well as very common as I see in the forums. Like I said, my car is in quite good condition aside from normal maintenance for it's age, but I do not believe the dim to be normal maintenance. Additionally, because of the cost and the difficulty of this type of issue, owners are being forced to diy it themselves and send their dashes to some company in canada. Now if it only affected my radio or interior lights, etc. Which it doesn't, I would probably send it off to canada too. But with it having to do with the most important part of the car- the airbags and Volvo being the top rated for safety features, my confidence is very low and I think someone needs to step in. The thing is, Volvos are supposed to easily last up to 300,000. But with faulty computers that have to do with the airbag (even though the airbag itself is fine), owners are being forced to rid their cars, trade them in, etc. Because of this issue. We need to encourage the importance of airbags to consumers who are ignoring having this fixed because of the cost and prevent injuries ahead of time.
On Feb. 3rd, I was pulling into a parking space in front of a store when my S60 r type Volvo began to accelerate on its own and reached very high rpm. My foot was not even on the accelerator as the car normally idles fast enough to perform parking maneuvers. I hit the brake but the car continued to move. It jumped the sidewalk; hit the building and proceeded to dig a hole in the flowerbed at the store's front. This all happened in the length of a parking space. I can¿t remember whether I shut the ignition off or of the engine stopped on its own shortly after the collision. Neither the airbags nor the pedestrian avoidance braking system deployed. I hit the building so hard that the brick cracked inside and out of the structure. The door is still inoperable.
Note ahora se han mudado al 755 NW 20 st miami FL 33127 under name golden glade collision center, insurance knows about air bag it does not working properly,, they know about fraud,, investigator knows about safety parts,, insurance pay them with fake papers,, insurance knows about stolen money through the my accident,, insurance, agriculture government knows about unsafety car,, the auto shop, aaa of dade county in miami did only very superficial repair work on my car, although they collected compensation from the insurance company. They mention having repaired my seat belt system, air bags, and other mechanical items, as well as outer body parts, but it is obvious that these items have not been repaired. This was confirmed by Volvo, miami & melbourne (see attachment 2 & 3), and by j&j in palm coast (see attachment 4). More importantly, not only did they do improper and incomplete repair work, but there is indication that they themselves caused additional damages to my car, e. G. There appear scratches, the rear bumper is loose, the original front tires were removed and replaced with tires so worn that it put my son’s life and mine in grave danger! I have since replaced them by new ones. From what I have been told at Volvo, my car has suffered a loss in value owing to “created” damages equal to at least $18,000! on 9/24/14, aaa of dade county prepared an authorization form for the purpose of collecting money from the insurance company. This report states that all damages have been satisfactorily repaired on that same date. Please note, however, that the photos, clearly showing the damages to the car, were taken by the appraiser on 9/26/2014!). It thus appears that this form was used for the sole purpose of collecting money, and not, as stated, confirming repair of the damages. Please feel free to contact me should you need additional information.
I was traveling between 30 - 40 mph in my 2013 Volvo S60 when I struck an SUV from behind. None of the airbags in my vehicle deployed, even though it was a direct rear end collision. After the collision my instrument panel displayed the warning message 'srs airbag service urgent'. My Volvo S60 is equipped with the standard city safety auto braking system, which did not engage at any point to avoid/reduce the impact of the collision. The auto braking system does not work above certain speeds, I am aware; however, I am concerned that my airbags were not properly working considering that it seems my vehicle was traveling at a speed above the auto braking threshold. There were no airbag warnings before the collision. For reference, there was a nearly identical collision in the same intersection just minutes prior and the vehicle involved in the collision had deployed airbags.
Driving car lights on dash board went completely off. Took it to shop they tap it and dash came on again, change fuse . Lights went off again and stayed off.

While driving out of a parking lot and accelerating to 35 mph, entire dashboard blacked out. No speedometer, no odometer, no gas gauge,no message. Radio, windows, and air conditioning continued to work normally, as did headlights, interior lights, and turn signals. I turned off engine and then restarted car. Same symptoms. The third time I restarted car I received message on panel, srs/airbag service urgent light comes on and stays on. I could not retrieve any other information regarding average speed, how full gas tank is, etc. I just went out to my car, which has been parked for about 21/2 hours since the incident, to get the mileage for this report and panel lights have disappeared again! I will get car to mechanic tomorrow, but I feel this is a very dangerous situation to be in,and especially with night time or high speed highway driving! my mileage is approximately 94,000 miles. I could not get a reading from my odometer as the panel is blacked out again!.
Volvos-60 24t took car to dealer bill gray Volvo for electrical problem and transmission problem. Car was returned to me with air bag passive restraint system inoperable and dealer refuses to correct problem or to even accept responsibility for same.
My 2003 Volvo S60 has a seatbelt warning message. The dealer diagnosed the problem as a faulty driver information module which would cost 1400 plus tax to repair. The car is valued at approximately 4000 as a trade. There are many complaints of failure of this part even in much newer Volvos.
The dash information sytem will randomly go blank and display srs and brake failure, along with all information lights blinking on and off. Also the analog gauges like the speedometer and fuel gauge will go to "0" and empty or just move eratically to any number or position while driving. At night sometimes the entire dash or information center will go black (no lights at all) and on odd occasions one headlight may go out and come back on.
The contact owns a 2004 Volvo S60. While driving between 25-30 mph, the contact struck a deer and the vehicle flipped over. None of the air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The contact sustained back and neck injuries. The contact has pictures. The current and failure mileages were 41,000.
