I purchased a vehicle from a dealership that was aware of faulty airbags that was returned to dealership from another consumer. I discovered the issue a few months later when airbag warning light appeared and had it repaired which included steering wheel airbag, lower knee airbag and the seat belt in September. I did know it was involved in a accident prior to purchase since carfax states airbags did not deploy. A reporter approached me in September to inform me that my vehicle was involved in a story of said dealership selling cars with faulty airbags. The Volvo service advisor and myself did reach out the dealership seeking out financial assistance which they state since the vehicle passed a multi point inspection they are not liable to assist financially. The da is aware of the situation and I am seeking damages that could have resulted in my bodily injury of lost of life.

The drivers seat belt to lock in place or unlock gets stuck ! makes it very difficult to ge try out of my vehicle daily. This is a major concern if I am ever in an emergency and cannot get out of my seat.
I have a 2012 S60r. I just received the recall notice for the front seat belts last week. In September of 2021, the warning light on the dash board intermittently comes on with a warning sound stating that my rear seat belt is not in use. This happens while starting the car and driving. There are no passengers riding in the rear seats of my car when this happens. I have tried to fasten the rear seat belts, but they do not fasten. I can not have passengers in the car due to the malfunction of the rear seat belts which is a safety issue. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
I was on my was home from work and I engine started to malfunction in the middle of the street I got help to push out of the street waited a few minutes and it started back up thank god it got me home but now I’m still having problems.
This relates to recall r10029 which I was notified of last summer. I received a follow up letter in December and called to schedule an appointment to have the recall addressed on January 18. Was told parts will not been in until March and that I should call back. Seems like poor concern fo rthis safety defect.

Recall notice on 11/2019 to replace all doors due to a safety issue (recall #: r89978: door latches). Recently on 12/1/2019, 12/23/2019 and 1/5/2020 I noticed that my rear right door slightly opened while city driving in suburban neighborhood (lots of stops) and the door signal did not indicate. They did not fully open but the latch seems to have an issue. Have been reaching out to service and Volvo does not have the parts needed.

Recall notice sent and received by myself. An appointment was made for corrective action by the dealer. When car brought for service on scheduled date, was told that the corrective part was no longer available, and there was no time frame for stock replacement to correct the the recall issue by Volvo. Unknown when this would take place. No corrective action received by the dealer or Volvo.
Yes my passenger side seat belt just randomly locked up. My car has never been in any crashes I didn't stop short for it to lock up. I went to put it on and it would only pull half way out and then when it went back it it stuck. It won't come out at all at all now. I can't pass inspection without it working.

The manufacturer has not corrected a known recall. Nor have I received an update. This is the second notice in the attached document. They state there is not yet parts available to correct it. But according to the NHTSA web site VIN look-up, the recall is listed as recall incomplete. When if there is no fix available it should be listed as recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available. We have received recall notifications, the first attachment. We have not received a follow-up notification for either recall notices. In the one for NHTSA recall 20v-378 recall r10029: front seat belt fastener states: "unfortunately at this time, replacement parts are not available for this repair. Please be assured that Volvo is working to secure the needed replacement seat belt fastener as soon as possible. Estimated time for parts in stock is end of November, 2020. We will send you a second notification letter as soon as the new replacement fastener is available. " my problem is that I am a u. S. Government civilian employee preparing to relocate from italy to the u. S. I shipped this car to italy from the u. S. In November 2018. The shipping company will not ship a car with an open recall. I need something in writing that accurately reflects the recall status; "recall incomplete" or "recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available"?.

Note ahora se han mudado al 755 NW 20 st miami FL 33127 under name golden glade collision center, insurance knows about air bag it does not working properly,, they know about fraud,, investigator knows about safety parts,, insurance pay them with fake papers,, insurance knows about stolen money through the my accident,, insurance, agriculture government knows about unsafety car,, the auto shop, aaa of dade county in miami did only very superficial repair work on my car, although they collected compensation from the insurance company. They mention having repaired my seat belt system, air bags, and other mechanical items, as well as outer body parts, but it is obvious that these items have not been repaired. This was confirmed by Volvo, miami & melbourne (see attachment 2 & 3), and by j&j in palm coast (see attachment 4). More importantly, not only did they do improper and incomplete repair work, but there is indication that they themselves caused additional damages to my car, e. G. There appear scratches, the rear bumper is loose, the original front tires were removed and replaced with tires so worn that it put my son’s life and mine in grave danger! I have since replaced them by new ones. From what I have been told at Volvo, my car has suffered a loss in value owing to “created” damages equal to at least $18,000! on 9/24/14, aaa of dade county prepared an authorization form for the purpose of collecting money from the insurance company. This report states that all damages have been satisfactorily repaired on that same date. Please note, however, that the photos, clearly showing the damages to the car, were taken by the appraiser on 9/26/2014!). It thus appears that this form was used for the sole purpose of collecting money, and not, as stated, confirming repair of the damages. Please feel free to contact me should you need additional information.
Our seat belts have been problematic because the passenger side is sticky and has to be moved around before it will disengage. When I took it to a dealer they said it was fine and just needed a little lubrication. Lubrication did not help the problem.
When the front passenger does not use seat belt, the car does not issue any audible warning (even when the car is in motion, e. G. At 30 mph). Note that, in contrast, the audible warning will ring for 6 seconds if the driver does not use seat belt. I called the local dealer and Volvo north America at (201) 768-7300, the reply was that this is exactly how it is designed to work. The dealer also confirmed that the same behavior was observed on other Volvo cars on his site. The receptionist at Volvo north America confirmed to me that "the audible warning for the front passenger seat was eliminated" and it is not possible even for the dealer to enable it. Then, my question is, why does the design engineers at Volvo think it is ok if the front passenger does not use safety belt and there is no need to issue a reminder?? in other cars (e. G. , I tested on Mercedes Benz c300 4matic 2013 model), when the car is in motion and the front passenger does not use seat belt, the car reminds with a audible warning.
On August 24, 2013, I was involved in a car accident. A car stopped short on the highway. The car in front of me hit that car. I then hit the car in front of me. I had only a few seconds to react. Another car then re-ended me. My airbag nor seatbelt pretentioners deployed. I had difficulty turning the car off. The car was totaled. Within a few weeks of the incident, I reported the matter to Volvo. They sent an investigator out. Volvo claims that sensors were not activated since the damage was above them, and there was not any problem. However, at the speed I hit, there is no excuse for why the airbags should not have deployed. Either the car is designed improperly in terms of where the sensors are placed or there is a manufacturing defect. As I understand it, other S60s (not my vid#) have been recalled for an electrical problem that could cause airbags not to deploy.
The contact owns a 2002 Volvo S60. The contact stated that the front and rear passenger side seat belts failed to operate by not retracting. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where it was stated to the contact that the seat belt assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000. The VIN was not available.
2001 Volvo S60 passenger side seat belt retractor failed and allowed for the belt to fully release without any tension. Volvo dealership informed seat belt mechanism must be replaced.

The front passenger seatbelt retracted and would not move to engage the passenger. It was stuck in place. The dealer examined it and said it was not possible to fix because it is a 'closed system' and would need to be replaced. They would charge over $650 to replace it for parts and labor.
The seat belt can not be pulled out and therefore does not work.

Seat belt reminder is not working. ( no beeping sound or display while driving without seat belt) erratic reading/display gas mileage (electronic reading of gas gauge is not correct).
The grief from this car literally began on the way home from the show room, as the seat belts were not functioning. They required four visits to the service department to correct the problem. The issue of the tires being unsafe became apparent when the car was two weeks old, with under 1000 miles on the odometer front & rear bumpers separate from vehicle , with little or no provocation. Tires self destruct at speeds of 2-4 mph (while parking), if a curb is touched. I'm informed that tires have weak sidewalls & to replace tires (at my expense). Air conditioning required three visits to repair shop & is still not getting the car as cold as it should in hot weather. I should add that I'm also informed that replacement tires will diminish the handling of the car.
