One problem related to mechanical jack has been reported for the 1998 Volvo S70. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The 2 of 4 welds on the jacking point bracket failed. The jacking point bent over, causing the car to fall down about 1" onto the Volvo jack, pinning the jack between the car and the pavement. No injuries.
