I am filing this complaint because my 2000 Volvo s60 is experiencing a safety failure regarding the front, driver door latch/lock. The door fails to latch properly. While there is a known safety recall (e. G. , recall r89978) for this exact issue on the 2000 Volvo s60, my VIN shows as 'not affected' on the NHTSA lookup tool. My vehicle is exhibiting the exact safety defect that the recall is intended to fix, yet I am not covered. I request that NHTSA investigate why this VIN is excluded despite having the same safety defect, posing a significant risk.
