Equipment Problems of Volvo S90

The ac system releases refrigerant into the cabin due to Volvo improperly engineering the climate control and allowing the evaporator core to freeze and crack. They acknowledge the issue and have released a resister cable to prevent the evaporator core from cracking. I have tested the air in the cabin, and the voc level is at a dangerous level due to the refrigerant leak. I have the car currently at a dealer, where they have quoted over $3,800 to repair the issue. A quick search shows a large and quickly growing number of people complaining about this. The leaks in some cases are so bad that you can smell the refrigerant when you open the car door, as was the case with ours. This is a huge environmental and health safety issue. I have reached out to Volvo, and they refuse to assist with the repair, despite acknowledging that it is an engineering error. I don't feel safe having my kids be exposed to that level of refrigerant gas, and we don't know what to do with the car.

The car just received the latest Volvo over air software update - v3. 7. The car has twice had the driver's display screen lose its ability to display the map between the speedometer and the tach (map image pixiilates and display goes white) and then the entire display goes blank. When this failure mode is active, I have had to use google maps or waze on my cellphone to determine my actual speed. The driver's display screen does eventually reboot.

My Volvo was left in the garage for three weeks while on vacation, came back and the sunroof was cracked. The dealer inspected the car, but claim the sunroof was hit (which is not true). There is no evidence that the sunroof was hit.

Backup camera problem is more prevalent after recall software update when backing up, or when trying to view the rear camera manually, the message says "camera temporarily unavailable" for the entire duration I was driving for 40 minutes.

Water get inside the car in the back on the floor mat behind driver seat. Was not aware of this problem at all.

At low temperatures, the door latches are inoperable and you cannot open the doors. In instances of emergency this would make it very hard to get access to somebody inside the car. In addition, in extreme weather conditions or cases where you are personally in danger you may not be able to gain access to your car.

Hi, when you drive over 70mph, steering, floors and whole cabin start vibrates, I have changed tires as Volvo recommended, alignment done. Everything dealer requested I have done. I have driven couple of more Volvo as a loaners and noticed they all vibrates , but not bad as mine. Try to reach out Volvo head office but no proper resolution. They are keep blaming tires which I have changed 3 times but actually vibration happen from engine or somewhere else. Lots of Volvo owners online shares same issues online. Please help me out on this matter.

I purchased a Volvo S90 2018 from ecar one . On July 6 2019. I was told by the saleman virgil . That there was a recall on the dashboard and all I have to do was call Volvo dealership and they would fix for free. When I called Volvo after my purchase they said no recall on this vehicle. 0709.

I personally, back in August of 2016 ordered a new 2017 Volvo S90 t5 inscription, and took deliver in November 2016. I began noticing a little vibration around July time frame but after the vehicle first manufacture recommended service didn't feel it as much. It wasn't until the first week of December when driving to work when reaching speeds of 40 mph or more, most noticeably at 55 mph plus on an interstate or highway there was an vibration in the steering wheel and driver seat so bad the car (pulls to the right and left) feel like the car is going to lose control. After serval visits to my local Volvo dealership the service manager informed me that one or maybe 2 of my oem tires (pirelli p zero (pz4) tires max performance summer tires size: 255/35zr20 may have a manufacture defect. At the time of this incident the oem tires only had roughly 14,200 miles on them. The service manager recommended that I replace all 4 tires (at my expense of course) since they can't determine which one is bad. I checked the internet on several Volvo forums sites and discovered that several 2017 Volvo owners are having the same problems with the original equipment manufacturer(oem) pirelli p zero tires that comes with the 20'' Volvo oem rims. Sunroof spontaneously exploded. Driving at 50mph. Road was clear. Temperature in mid 70s. Volvo corp and dealer denied warranty issue.

I lease a 2017 Volvo S90 with auto-brake and start/stop technology. Recently I was in my driveway and put the vehicle in drive. I rolled forward a few feet and realized I needed to exit the vehicle for something. I became distracted due to an item on my drivers seat and since the vehicles engine was not running due to start-stop technology I did not realize that the car was still in drive and that the ignition was in the on position. I exited the vehicle and closed the drivers door. When I did so , the start-stop technology engaged and the car drove off without me. The only thing that stopped the car was that it ran into my home. I believe this is a huge safety flaw that Volvo needs to correct immediately. The auto brake button was not engaged.
