1 Assist problem of the 2025 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 09/02/2024

I bought this car on 8/30/24. This car has the ability to turn off the lane keeping aid, but it defaults to steering assistance which can't be turned off. I was not aware of this before purchasing. This feature is a big problem and should be removed or allow the driver to deactivate. If I am driving and move out of my lane to avoid a pedestrian or stopped vehicle, the car automatically detects the solid line on either side of the car and steers me back toward whatever obstacle I'm trying avoid. This is seriously unsafe to be steered toward a pedestrian. I should not have to fight my car for control. I went to the dealer 9/10/24, and they confirmed that the system is working as designed and the steering assistance is supposed to take over.

2 Assist problem of the 2023 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 04/27/2023

I've had my Volvo for 6 months and two weeks ago I started getting warning alerts that the braking system, lane departure system and other electrical systems were having issues (the doors wouldn't lock and car wouldn't start). I've taken the car to the Volvo dealership 3 times and they have been unsuccessful in determining what the issue is. There is something wrong with the software and a software update that was installed on my car at the first service visit (when this began happening 2 weeks ago).

3 Assist problem of the 2022 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 12/29/2022

The screen does not come on, so no heat, no safety stuff, no reverse camera and no sensors. All the above adas features do not work either. This is definitely a safety hazard, which I think traces back to the vehicle operating system. Details reported to Volvo in this tweet--> https://twitter. 4 Assist problem of the 2020 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 11/07/2022

Initially the center tablet would blackout while I’m backing out of my driveway, I put in reverse. Camera works. I back out and camera completely turns off. Not an issue with dirty camera as it comes in and off. Several times while I’m driving the entire instrument panel blacks out! it’s happened 5x in the last two months and I don’t drive much. I have taken to the dealer and told Volvo by emails and chat features and no one seems concerned. They could not see it happen while they drove it so they are not worried. I don’t feel safe in this car. Safety was the only reason I chose Volvo. Also the radio makes weird sounds, repaired twice lane assist is not working properly and they are not fixing it, braking system wasn’t working but they thankfully did a recall and fixed that. This car does not hold steady while driving despite the lane assist and all the fancy features I expected was working when purchased.

6 Assist problem of the 2018 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 02/17/2022

When pilot assist's steering assistance is unable to keep the car in the lane, it will disengage without any audible warning nor visual warning (screen flash, popup message,. . . ). The only indication is the 3/4" steering wheel icon at the bottom left of the instrument cluster, changes color from green to grey. It has been behaving this way since the day I purchased the car in early 2018 and continues to behave this way today. The owner's manual makes no mention of any audible or visual warning. The owner's manual can be downoaded at Volvo's website https://Volvo. Custhelp. Com/app/manuals/ownersmanualinfo/year/2018/model/xc60.

7 Assist problem of the 2022 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 01/03/2022

The contact owns a 2022 Volvo Xc60. While driving at various speeds, the contact discovered that the lane assist safety feature failed to recognize the single or double yellow lines. In addition, he also discovered that the lane assist safety feature did not operate while driving under 35 mph. The contact also mentioned that the seat belt audible alert would only chime twice and that the warning light would disappear after 45 seconds. The contact stated that without the constant reminder, a person might forget to use the seat belt. The dealer was notified about the seat belt issue and informed him that customers preferred a limited seat belt reminder. The contact disagreed and stated that the seat belt reminder should remain constant until the seat belt was securely fastened. The contact sent an email to the manufacturer; however, the contact had not yet received a response. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 0.

8 Assist problem of the 2021 Volvo XC60

Failure Date: 07/05/2021

This is in regards to pilot assist. My husband and I purchased this vehicle in may of 2021. We have encountered several incidents (while using pilot assist). The car has directed us to different lanes, steered us to guardrails and other cars and has failed to break when cars have been stopped in front of us. We have taken the car in to our local Volvo dealership multiple times and they have still not corrected the issues. The first time we took the car in to the dealership, we were told (by the mechanic) it’s not a good system and it will never operate correctly. They have checked the sensors and hooked the car up to the computer and said it’s not sending off any codes, therefore there is nothing they can do. They have also test driven the car. The latest test drive, the mechanic left notes saying the car did start to drift in to the other lane but was corrected by the driver. However, he claims this is normal operation.
