Headlights problem #1

The new xenon headlights on our Volvo Xc70 provide very poor light in low beam mode when going down hill. We had a near collision due to not being able to see far enough ahead of the vehicle. The lights are unsafe, especially going down hill. We have contacted Volvo about this problem, they state that the lights meet government standards and there is no issue.

Exterior Lighting problem #2

Engine hesitation upon acceleration and sudden transition into the "reduced engine performance" mode which was extremely dangerous on the freeway. The incident happened several times with the failure codes pointing to the "etm". In other cases the engine was surging after start and then went back to the "limp" mode.
