2 Power Train problem of the 2015 Volvo XC70

Failure Date: 01/15/2022

My Volvo Xc70 has had a sudden and significant increase in oil consumption. I believe this is due to the pistons which Volvo is now acknowledging. They refuse to issue a recall or to repair my very well maintained vehicle. Continue operation requires up to 2 quarts of oil every 500 miles! it also presents an ongoing risk of sudden engine malfunction and dangerous stoppage, I have all my records which shows my car has been maintained and the cause is faulty pistons. Volvo must be held accountable.

5 Power Train problem of the 2010 Volvo XC70

Failure Date: 11/11/2019

I would appreciate your deepest consideration for assistance with the problematic rear differential on the 2010 Xc70 Volvo. I have spent considerable funds to maintain my vehicle at top working order through maintenance at Volvo. I have always asked the Volvo advisors for service recommendations on the vehicle to keep my car running economically to ensure main components did not fail due to lack of maintenance. Therefore, when I learned that my rear differential is failing and there is no recommended service on that particular part which can be seen on the maintenance service manual below, there seems to be a lack of knowledge shared on this part. Unfortunately, I just started to look into this matter once my rear differential starting to fail, this knowledge was not shared to me during regular periodic maintenance, my Volvo service advisors never recommended changing the rear differential oil. Moreover, it is a known defect for Volvo cars built throughout the years of 2008-2014. Volvo and Land Rover use the same part and there are many examples of this happening to Volvo owners around the mid-90k mile range. The cost is extremely expensive at an estimated $5,580. 00. Please look in to this matter, this should be a national recall for this vehicle!.

6 Power Train problem of the 2016 Volvo XC70

Failure Date: 03/19/2018

When cold sometimes not able to shift from park to any other gear or neutral. After driving, able to shift from drive or reverse back to park but get message saying "car is not in park - shift to park". When in neutral sometimes not able move shifter from neutral to drive or park. When contacted dealer for service they seemed to be familiar with the problem. My concerns are not being able to drive car on demand, as well as not knowing if car is truly in park or not.

7 Power Train problem of the 2011 Volvo XC70

Failure Date: 09/22/2017

The car makes a loud roaring sound at about 45-50 mph and the dealership says "probably the tires" but doing some research there seems to be a lot of people with similar problems and add to this it randomly downshifts while braking (or maybe it is the brakes) when coming to a stop which would cause the car to lose control on a snow/ice/slippery situation, this happens at a slower speed and only when slowing down at about 10-15 mph. I am not sure what is causing this and there are multiple complaints out on the internet and no real solutions.

12 Power Train problem of the 2007 Volvo XC70

Failure Date: 05/11/2012

When driving through puddles of water, slush or snow, the exhaust may cool down fast enough to change shape and touch the propeller shaft, causing a high pitched squealing noise. This noise will be noticed by the driver for only a short time; once the exhaust temperature equalizes the noise will disappear. This creates a high-pitched, siren like noise, which can scare the driver causing his/her to swerve or lose control of the vehicle. The is a design defect recognized by Volvo with repair kit available pn# 30742265. As this is a design defect and a serious safety issue, this should be recalled by Volvo and not a $250. 00 repair by the customer.
