The vehicle was working fine, I drove it the night prior back home and parked it in my garage like I normally do. When I went to leave the next morning, the car would not start. The engine wouldn't even turn over but the radio and what not would turn on. We tried jumping the car, charging the battery, changing the battery out and nothing worked. We got it towed to the auto shop and they said that they could not fix the vehicle as it's electrical. We live in the desert and the closest dealer is over an hour away in palm springs so now we have to get the vehicle towed there, at our expense, to try and get it looked at.

Had started noticing that when I would start my car my radio would sometimes take a long time to come on. Eventually woke up one day to start my car and it would not start. This should not be happening because the battery is not even a year old. Used my portable jumper to charger and took it to get read and it was not the battery. I was told that there was an electrical drain that was still charging my battery even after it was turned off. The second issue is when I am driving and go to give the car gas and the car would not immediately accelerate causing to me to almost be hit twice. I had to give it gas a second time in order for it to accelerate.
Car will not start. Put key in the ignition and it will not turn over. Had mechanic come and check out and he said the ignition switch is not getting the power it supposed to one core reads 12 volts the other 6 and they both suppose to read 12 volts to turn it over.

Car wouldn't start. Got a "service steering column lock" on the dash. Was able to start the car after a period of time. But engine start and stop still sounds bad.

I just bought my chevy Cruze on Dec 18th 2016 and on Dec 24th 2016 my car wouldn't start while in park, no warning lights, no peeping, no nothing just would not start, I waited a few minutes then it started. I drove about 10 or more miles to my dads was there about 5 minutes got in my car to leave, same thing, wouldn't start, again no peeping, no warning lights nothing, waited about 3 to 5 minutes and it started. I immediately took it to the dealer, they told meto bring it in the following sat which was Dec. 31, 2016, the car started the rest of that week no problem. Took the car in on Dec. 31, 2016, they still have my car and it is January 7th, 2017, they can't find what is wrong. I have since done research on this car and found out it is the most unreliable car out there. I drive an 82 year old lady to her appointments and I can't risk being in an accident because of car problems. I got rid of a 1994 Ford escort because of it breaking down all the time, now it sounds like I just traded that in for the same damn thing just a different make and model. I am not dealing with it, I'm taking the car back one way or the other. Very disappointed in dealership selling me this car, specifically told them I needed a safe reliable car and they sell me the worst rating car on the damn lot. Never ever will I buy a chevy or a Ford again. We will see how the dealer makes this right if I go back to them or give them a good review. It has been 7 days now and they still have my car and everyday I'm told the same thing, don't know what the problem is, don't know when we will give you your car back. Much longer dealing with this and they can talk to my attorney. I don['t want the car back, trade it in or give me my money back. This is bull.
This vehicle safety complaint is in regards to my 2011 Chevrolet Cruze lt, which was serviced at ourisman Chevrolet of bowie, a general motors (gm) authorized dealer, for the repair of my vehicle. I incurred charges for unwarranted maintenance repairs on the following dates September 26-October 5, 2016 ($134. 95 and $139. 07 (cost for a new battery)), April 26, 2016 (warranty covered repairs), April 11, 2016 ($590. 92), and April 14, 2015 ($382. 14) that never addressed the safety complaints I made, all of which were handled by service advisor buddy reio. On these dates, I took my vehicle to be serviced for experiencing hazardous issues with its electrical systems and reduced engine acceleration while I was driving between 40-55 miles per hour. Without warning, my vehicle¿s speed would decelerate (both on the highway and residential roads) and my car doors would begin to lock and unlock uncontrollably with error messages ¿service stabilitrac,¿ ¿service parking assist,¿ and ¿service airbag¿ displaying on my dashboard. After about 30 seconds of this condition, my car would resume normal functioning. I incurred $1,247. 08 in unwarranted repairs for my vehicle, which was never properly diagnosed, leading to my vehicle shutting down while I was driving it on October 22, 2016. On October 22, 2016 at 3:20 p. M. , while driving on a busy thoroughfare, my car decelerated and error messages displaying ¿service stabilitrac,¿ ¿service parking assist,¿ and ¿service airbag¿ showed. After approximately 30 seconds, the car began to shut down and I managed to steer it out of the way of oncoming traffic. I immediately contacted Chevrolet¿s roadside service and informed the representatives that my engine would not start and I was stuck on the side of the road.

On 10-1-14 my Cruze eco would not start. After multi tries and hearing only clicking sounds it did start. After getting to my destination and letting the car sit for hours it did the same thing again. Contacted dealer was told to bring car in which I did on 10-3-14. After a week, they stated they showed the alt was not charging and replaced it then again because 1st one they recieved from g. M was defective. On 10-10-14 picked up car started it up went home and let sit for about a hour then tried to start and again it only clicked but this time there was 3 messages and one was to roll window up and down? why? does these Cruzes have electrical issues or computer issues? contacted selling dealer again and was told to bring it back which I did on 10-13-14. Waiting on my new Cruze again to be fixed and wondering why do these 5 star Cruzes have so many problems according to what I have been reading the last few days without g. M doing something. I am not satisfied with this car.
Car radio kept cutting on and off multiple times before all of the car lights flashed on the dashboard and steering wheel became stiff. I pulled over on the side of the road, cut the car off and pulled out the key. I put the key back in the ignition and tried to start the car and it wouldn't start. The lights and radio didn't even come on. I couldn't put the key back in the off switch nor could I pull the key out. After about a minute or so my radio came on and I was finally able to start my car.
After purchasing the 2014 Cruze on July 29, 2014, I drove it to my residence which was for 6 miles and parked in my driveway. I placed the shift level in the park position and set the emergency brake. My grand daughter, age 16, asked if she could test drive the car. After entering the vehicle, she released the emergency brake and attempted to start it. The car would not start and unknown to her while attempting to start, the vehicle slowly went backwards into the street. The shift lever in the vehicle was stuck in park and would not move and it would not start. I called on star and asked them to run a test on the car to see what was wrong with it. The lady came back with no known problems from their test. I asked and she called a tow truck to return the vehicle to the dealer. The Cruze was repaired the next day. The problem was identified with a defective shift cable. The casing around the shift cable at the transmission cracked causing cable not to release leaving transmission in free mode. I was upset and angry with the dealership and gm because the vehicle broke down in the first 6 miles. I then checked for recalls on the vehicle and found gm recall number 14048 and NHTSA recall 14v092, which identified my defect exactly, but did not include my VIN in the recall order. I called gm and expressed my concerns they assigned a case number and a very nice lady called and asked what would make me happy. My main concern was the safety of my family and other people who have bought the Cruze with a defective shift lever cable. Once a part is identified as defective it should no longer be used and it should be replaced on all manufactured vehicles. I was offered a replacement vehicle by the dealership and gm but I declined the offer.
On this particular occurrence the lights on the radio display began to flicker and then all electrical power to the dashboard, airbags, and the electrically assisted power steering went out. It remained off for approximately 10 to 15 seconds. As a result I had no control over the vehicle. The electrical came back on and the dash display depicted the warning message check stabltrack, or words to that effect. I took it to the dealership and they said that nothing showed up on the scope and there was nothing they could do. This has also happened to my grand daughter on 07/09/2014 out in colorado as she is using the vehicle for school and work. Again the dealer states there is nothing showing up on the scope and they have not been able to duplicate the issue even though she had her friend record the event with their cell phone. During this event the vehicle could not be restarted after the vehicle was turned off in a parking lot. After an hour wait the vehicle was started.
While driving all of the dash lights keep flickering on and off. The power steering went out and the ac turned off and would not turn on. The next day the car would not start and key was stuck in the ignition.
I could smell coolant/antifreeze when the heater was on and the temperature was set to a high setting. I didn't think anything was wrong, just thought it might be a break-in issue. As of today's date Nov 9, 2014 I still can smell the coolant smell when the heater is on. Recently I received a letter from gm concerning possible coolant loss. At my last service of the vehicle I asked the dealer to check for this problem. Nothing was reported to me from the dealer. I assumed that there was no problem. The other issue I have noticed is dash lights dimming or brightening on their own. The latest problem was that the car would not start this morning. Drove perfectly yesterday, this morning dead. Jumped the car and everything seems fine. Making an appointment with the dealer. Noticed that the coolant level is about 3 inches low in over flow tank. Looked on the internet about Cruze cars and found many posts about electrical problems. Gm tells them all that they are not aware of any electrical problems but you tube videos show gauges and radios cutting out when driving. Some videos describe cars shutting down when driving and not restarting. Others have service messages appearing on the information screen and the dealers find nothing wrong. It is starting to sound like the infamous Jeep grand cherokee electrical problems. I am seriously thinking it is time to get rid of my 2013 cruse as the factory warranty will expire soon. Current mileage is 27490 on Nov 9, 2014.
The day I purchased the vehicle, the radio intermittently discontinued working. The following morning after driving the care for approximately 20 miles and then stopping to visit my father, the car would not start. The car was towed back to the dealer and they noticed a burnt smell and no voltage to bcm, the repair order indicates they replaced ubec and operated system was all ok at that time.
The vehicles lights started flashing (radio, warning lights on dash) and then the turn signal would not work. Dealer found no problems. Similar problems happened over next month and then car would not start/respond to remote. Brought car to dealer while lights blinking and service department saw problem. Car would not start while at the lot and service department pushed it into garage. Checked vehicle for week and found no problem and then it happened again. Kept car again. After car returned, car would not respond when shut off and attempted to get out of car (locked in). The car was in park and turned off and the occupant could not get out of the car. Restarted car and then locks worked. Dealer found no problems. Since then had an incident when car was parked and turned off and it took two tries for occupant to get out of car. Concerned about safety if occupant is locked inside car.
