My check engine, power steering, service esc, esc off, brake system (!), abs system lights all flash, and all of my gauges fluctuate simultaneously. The same problem keeps occurring, and I have had my control computer nodule replaced, as well as my power steering module replaced at lynch Chevrolet in kenosha, WI. While driving my car shifts/jerks, and my steering wheel locks up, almost causing me to crash. When I come to a stop at a light or sign, my car does not want to accelerate, causing me to be in an intersection for longer than normal because my car won't take off. The vehicle also jerks into different gears while all of these service lights are flashing. This feels very dangerous to drive, and the problem cannot be resolved. It started in January and is continuing to happen despite replacing parts.

During operations while turning car locked up; lost power, lost steering. With engine running the radio and ac shut off. Drifted to shoulder of road. Illuminated dash lights: power steering drive with care, traction control, emergency brake, abs light, temp showed cold, no gear indicator light. Operated car less than 5mph approx. 1/4 mile and shut engine off. During operations it sounded as though brakes were on (screeching/clanking). Once engine shutdown stabilitrak light illuminated intermittently with power steering. Doors would not unlock, windows would not go down (trapped in vehicle 10 min). Brake pedal locked, car would not start. 45 min later car started. All illuminated lights cleared, check engine light illuminated. Vehicle towed to dealership. Dealership investigated. Several fault codes were present. Each fault code pertained to vehicles communication. Vehicle lost communication with everything. Dealership stated difficult/impossible to follow any sort of direction for fix. Dealership drove car and could not replicate incident. Asked me to drive and recreate problem then to bring back. Car is unsafe. Instantly locked up during operation, trapped me inside, left me stranded and scared me. Refuse to drive. Gm was contacted; awaiting guidance.

On March 30th, my abs lights came on my vehicle. I took my car to the dealership. I was told not to drive the vehicle. My car was serviced for the wheel bearings and abs brake system $1085. After picking up my vehicle, I received a diagnostic report from onstar stating that my vehicle still had brake and abs problems. I picked up the car from the dealership. Two days later while driving 40 mph my brakes went out completely out and I crashed into a van.

Tl the contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the steering assistance reduced warning message would intermittently appear on the instrument panel. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to malcolm cunningham Chevrolet augusta (2031 gordon hwy, augusta, GA 30909) where she was informed that she had a defective rack and pinion. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where they diagnosed the vehicle with a defective tie rod and had the tie rod replaced. Recently, the contact stated that an abnormal scraping noise would emit from the vehicle upon depression of the brake pedal as the abs warning light appeared on the instrument panel. The contact then took the vehicle to johnson motor company of south carolina (490 jefferson davis hwy, graniteville, SC 29829) where they repaired the vehicle for a defective pcv hose. An hour after the vehicle was returned to the contact, the same failure recurred. The manufacturer had been notified several times about the failures and several cases were filed. The manufacturer offered no further assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 10,757.

In 2016 I started experiencing issues with my cruise control working sometimes & sometimes not. After a year or so while driving my car abs light indicator light came on (oct. 2017) after taken it to an authorized gm dealer it was found that my left rear wheel hub unit bearing broke, a little over a month later, the abs & the stability trac light came on. This time it was the right rear wheel hub unit bearing broke. It controls all that takes place with stopping, cruise control, skidding, breaking, etc. . . . Extremely expensive per tire & not safe! after quite a bit of research the Malibu & impalas are well known for this issue. I was driving both times when this happened, I was traveling down an expressway(I-75)!.
Esc,traction, abs lights come on while car is moving, and when first starting, a trouble code c0131 has been recorded. The problem started in June of 2010. A week after we got the car, the dealer changed brake lite switch, the car has been back to shop 15-20 times it is now 8-9-2017 no one can fix problem, made calls to gm costomer service many times over the 7 years, still no fix, gm wants us to pay for repair and diagnostic as too the car is out of warranty ,we feel gm should repair the car free of charge as to this is dangerous and has never been fixed ,.
On March 1, 2017 at 28981 miles, the airbag light came on, (not the first time). The next day, the stability control and the abs lights both also came on. In both occasions the car was moving at about 40 mph on a city street. I took it to the dealer, they charged me $153 to get a diagnosis. They wanted another $850 to have it fixed. I took it to another shop that did it for $190. These were 2 separate problems, one was the airbag light (a connection under the front passenger seat), and the other was a sensor in the left front wheel (the stability/abs light).
The abs light showed on the message center when I started my car to leave for work on a Monday morning so I took my car to green Chevrolet in deridder la. The mechanic looked at the car and said the sensor was bad so they ordered another. After replacing it the light did not go off so they scheduled another appointment to check into the problem again. I took the car back and the mechanic said it was a sensor and would be close to $ 400 to replace it. I paid $200 the first time. So I called gm to ask about the recall that was in place on the same year, make and model as my car. I was told that while the recall was active, it did not include my car because it came from a different plant. So gm worked with the repair shop to lower the cost for the second repair. I paid $115. That as in February 2017. The mechanic at the service center said that they have seen this part being replaced several times and that it needed to be recalled. In April 2017 I was on my way to missouri for a funeral and my abs light came on again. I called the service center and was told to bring my car in when I returned home. I called gm again to complain that it was on again. I took my car back into the shop and was told that it was the same problem but a different wheel. Again the mechanic said that the part needed to be recalled. So now I have to schedule an appointment to have the sensor replaced and pay more money. I am writing to ask why the part has not been recalled for all 2014 Chevrolet Malibus. I am paying for a problem that a recall has been issued on while others owners are not. My car has 47,000 miles . It is my primary vehicle. How many times am I going to have this problem? please expand the recall to include more vehicles. Obviously it is not happening to cars from just one area. Thank you.
Driving down an expressway about 60mph and the power steering quit working, a message displayed on my dash "power steering service esc" the abs indicator light also displayed at the same time. I have no power steering. My car has approx 125,000 miles on it. I googled the issue and there was a recall for this issue for 2006-2007 chevy Malibus so I contacted the dealer and they said my car does not have a recall for this issue. I do have a recall that I have not had fixed yet for the brake lamp malfunction 13036 which dealer stated is unrelated issue. I see several other people online are reporting this same issue for the 2009 4 cylinder chevy Malibu's. I would hope gm will recall this and take care of the problem.

Driving car on the expressway hit a puddle abs light along with check stabil trak and check break assist system come on, few minutes down the road attempt to break and turn wheel neither work, hit guard rail l, after hitting guard rail another warning light saying service power steering, drive with care appears, took to dealer filed claim with gm to fix body damage for manufactures defect. Gm did nothing, blamed issue on whee bearing.
The abs light has come on stating that I did not have stabil track control anymore. This happened when I was entering a busy road when I spun tires on some gravel on pavement road surface. It happened when I spun tires on a icy road driving at about 35 miles an hour due to road conditions. It happened when I was driving down a dry pavement state highway at 65 miles an hour. A total of three times. Every time it was the same problem but different wheels. It has happened with lr, rr and rf wheels part replaced was 13589507w-(s) wheel bearing assembly. The problem is the encoder ring which is part of this assembly is cracked, pieces gone or the whole thing gone. There was not a problem with earlier versions of this encoder ring. I understand that this part will be on the new 2017 models and that it will affect the computer even more than the 2013 version with some features such as cruise control.
Computer problem 2003 chevy impala 6 cyl front wheel drive automatic 130000 miles this recently started, the traction on light and the abs yellow lights on dash stay on. Rarely do they go off, only a few times. The square indicator light says "service traction control" light comes on when I start the vehicle, stays on for 1-2 minutes then goes off. But the traction control light and the abs light remains on. How can I reset this or what to not have a trip to the expensive auto repair shop. I have no problem with the abs brakes to operate correctly, no delays or brake hesitation when I press the brake pedal in use. Help me out with a good solution. I will greatly appreciate your response.

The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact shifted the vehicle into park and reinserted the key into the ignition in order to restart the vehicle. Also, the contact mentioned that while driving at 30 mph, the turn signal lights and hazard lights failed to work intermittently and the abs warning light illuminated. A day later, while driving 20 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to stop. The contact had to apply excessive force to the brake pedal in order to stop the vehicle. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the master brake cylinder and turn signal relay switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v400000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 125,000.

Vehicle front end shakes/wobbles severely when under hard braking situations down hill. Loud low rumble noise and pedal vibrations are evident. Shaking and wobbling is present through vehicle steering wheel requiring more strength and directional corrections to steer and guide the vehicle properly. Down hill braking could be severely impeded in normal driving or while towing a trailer. Panic stops and light braking situations on level ground are normal straight and true. Brake fluid level check okay and is clean. Abs system operating normally. Parking brake operating normally. Vehicle brake system and abs warning lights check okay. Vehicle has 4 new tires mounted and balanced on original factory rims. Tires are sized and inflated to vehicle manufacturers specifications. Cold tire pressure 29 psi in front and 26 psi in rear. Front left and right rotor surfaces are smooth and within normal specifications. Vehicle diagnosed as having warped front rotors. Front rotors appear to warp prematurely under normal load. Vehicle has had front rotors repaired and or replaced 3 times. Has been suggested that front rotors are not large enough to handle the size and capacity of the vehicle. Vehicles with the six cylinder engine option displace more weight upon the front axle creating excessive heat and wear on undersized disc brakes. Vehicle presented with 69,000 original miles.

Tl - the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the steering wheel locked causing the brakes to engaged. The contact mentioned that the esc light, abs light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnosed the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000 and the current mileage was 101,000.
Abs light randomly coming on, and brakes completely failing at unspecific intervals. Today as I was driving I came upon a stop sign, while decelerating on an downhill incline my brakes decide that the would completely let off, and about 500 feet later down the road they catch and lock. Luckily I had ample space ahead of me and wasn't involved in an accident, but those intermittent failure can defiantly be a problem.

The abs warning light has been going on occasionally since I bought the car new in 1998. Recently, this has been happening frequently, almost every time, shortly after starting the car and usually during the first turn. Turning off the engine and then restarting turns the abs light off, and it then stays off. Also, in the past month or so, the car has slid forward just as it is coming to a stop. This causes me to slide about one foot beyond where I intended to stop, which could be dangerous. I have taken to stopping well behind the car in front of me to allow for this extra slide. At the time of the slide, I feel the pressure on the brake pedal suddenly drop, and then I have to push really hard to stop. This failure only seems to happen in the first few times I stop after starting the car. I brought the car today to wilkie Chevrolet in philadelphia to have this defect checked out.

While stopped at a red light the vehicles tilt steering unlocked without warning. As a result the vehicle began to roll forward even with the brakes applied. The vehicles abs light would illuminate when the vehicle was driven. The light would go off once the vehicle was parked, turned off then turned back on.
For over a year now, my 1999 Malibu has had its check engine light on intermittently. It will stay on for months at a time and go off occasionaly. It was diagnosed by a Chevrolet dealer to be the air pump which I had replaced for approximately $400. The light is still on. I have had it diagnosed again, but the mechanic cannot seem to find the problem. I am now told that there is going to be a new law passed which will prevent me from getting an inspection with my check engine light on. If the dealer can't figure it out, I do not understand why I should be penalized and have to spend additional money for them not to figure it out. I also have my abs light coming on constantly now for the past 6 months. The diagnosis showed it was the abs sensor which was replaced and the light is still on. I took it back and it was diagnosed again. I had to have both front wheel bearings replaced ($500) at 55,000 miles, which includes new sensors. The light is still on. I am now planning on taking it in for another diagnosis.
The consumer complained about brake problems. When applying brakes the pedal goes all the way to the floor, there was extensive pulsation, and extended stopping distance. The abs light was on and was intermittent. This made the stopping distance longer almost causing accidents.

While applying the brakes abs braking light appeared on the dashboard without warning. The brakes has been replaced five times, every 35,000 miles. While applying the brakes vehicle would vibrate, and there would be extended stopping distance.
At 47,000 miles my brakes began to pulsate violently when pressing the brake pedal. Also the abs warning light came on. A metal on metal sound could also be heard. This car was taken to a repair shop where the rotors were turned, new pads were installed and the abs light was reset. At 90,000 miles the exact same thing occurred. This time the rotors and pads were replaced, new calipers were installed (they were binding) and the abs light was again reset.
While traveling on the highway and without prior warning the abs braking system light appears on the dashboard panel.
Intermittently abs warning light is on the dashboard. Dealer notified.
The abs warning lights continuously stayed on while driving. Prior to this the light would flicker off and on.
Front brake rotor failed twice. Have had to replace them twice. Anti lock brake light also comes on periodically.
I purchased a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu in April 2001 VIN 1n1ne52j516196681 and have had the following work/problems with the brake system repaired at capital Chevrolet where I purchased the vehicle. Date problem/repairs mileage Nov 2001 abs warning light on, brake pads, rotors 7,754 Jan 2002 front suspension 9,080 Mar 2002 front suspension 12,000 may 2002 brake pads & rotors 14,555 July 2002 abs warning light on 17,170 oct 2002 brake pads & hub 21,055 Nov 2002 abs warning light on, rotor, hub kit 22,005 oct 2002 rotors 21,310 Dec 2002 caliper & brake pads 24,066 from the information above, I can generally get about 7,000 miles on the brake pads. I have contacted general motors customer service department (request # c06717865) and was able to get an extended warranty on the vehicle in June 2002 after several complaints, however the brakes have needed repair several times since my original concerns. I am concerned about what happens if there is a catastrophic brake failure? my recent conversations with gm customer service department have been less than cordial. I have considered trading in the Malibu and purchasing another vehicle, but the trade in value offered for the Malibu is not acceptable. My question what kind of assistance does your office of defects investigation offer? I firmly believe there is a serious safety issue with the brake system on my vehicle and general motors bears the responsibility for correcting the defect or replacing the vehicle. Thank you. Ts.
Abs light illuminated intermittently. Vehicle was taken to the dealer , who was unable to determine the problem. Now while driving and applying brakes consumer could hear noise from "left front" of vehicle and anti-brake system (abs) engaged itself. This caused the car to "coast" and almost collided with another vehicle. Vehicle is on its third set of pads and second set of rotors. .
