20 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2010 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 06/30/2019

My car jerks from the vcm module on the car usually when going around 40 mph especially when entering a turn( I drive mostly on a 2 lane highway) which makes me feel unsafe because it happens when it shuts down cylinders and jerks the car hard sometimes and gives a significant loss of torque. I recently purchased a Honda Accord crosstour 2010 with 72k miles on their 3. 5l v6 engine and was not informed about Honda being sued for their vcm module that shuts down cylinders. It ruins piston rings, breaks engine mounts, misfiring, burning oil, and last but not least bent piston rods all so you can get 1 more mile per gallon. I would like for Honda to do a recall to fix engines that are damaged and to finally give their buyers an option to turn the vcm off which is known to prevent those problems and make the car not jerk. I got 75k miles now and jerking has gotten worse to where I'm trying to find ways to turn it off. Thank you for your time!.

21 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/21/2019

My vehicle's piston rings are damaged and my vehicle is burning oil. I noticed that after checking my oil one day that there was no oil on my dip stick. I had just recently gotten an oil change less than 2 weeks ago. I check my fluid levels frequently due to I just purchased this vehicle about 3 months ago. I took it back to walmart where I had the oil change done at and they performed another oil change and replaced the oil filter, where I was able to watch them do the entire process. About a week and a half goes by and I went to check the fluid level and again the dip stick was bare. There is no indication of any oil leaking underneath the vehicle, nor is there any oil present on the ground underneath the vehicle after sitting overnight. There is no white smoke coming out of anywhere, no oil burning smell, absolutely nothing visible to see what might be going on with the vehicle. I took it to a mechanic that is in town where they did a thorough examination of the vehicle and stated that the oil burning is being caused by the piston rings. They are in their opinion faulty piston rings that have developed an abnormal amount of deb-re on them and they need to be replaced. I feel this is something that should be in the recall list due to this vehicle only has 104,123 miles on it and the pistons should not have to be replaced.

22 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2010 Honda Accord

09-2017 - 75,402 mileage -noise concern light on dash board: dealer said needs breaks($426. 32 I paid Honda), noise continues and dealer wants me to pay for a diagnosis. 02-2018 - 80,301 mileage - talked to service manager, took it for ride (same noise- light on dash boar). Manager said needs axels ($1,413) too much money. I took it other place to change axels. Same noise continues. 05-2019 - 97,386 mileage took to dealer because noise and light on dash dealer said no oil and based on what I told service advisoe - erick gomez- car missed the recall date for burning oil and needs piston rings that costs few thousands of dollars. Since that date I have to check the oil two or three times a week and pour oil if need it before the 2,500 or 3,000 mileage I told him that every time I went to Honda with the same problem they lied to me in regards of diagnosis of the problem and I was spending money, time, stress, frustration without results. The Honda dealer has been negligent and procastinates in regards of the recall on the car for burning oil. The problem was there and they were guessing on solve it, because they knew about other cars. On 10-10-2020 my friend was helping me to check the oil, I told him about my Honda problems and we decided to look on the internet about the recall. This is not my first Honda, on 2008 I bought at the same dealer a Honda Accord; I do not recall but I think was a 2007 that I drove for few years and I sold it without this kind of problems. The dealer has that file. I had a Honda civic - without this kind of problems. I bought Honda because quality and low cost repairs. I am a single 58 years old woman looking for justice. Piston rings stick and it causes oil to burn excessively. There are multiple campaigns that Honda knows about. Failure Date: 01/02/2019

While driving my 2010 Honda Accord crosstour on the freeway the engine light started flashing, I immediately took my car to Honda of stockton. They notified me that my car is burning oil excessively. Bank 1 pressure switch /bank 2 pressure code p3400 /p3497 vps stuck off both banks. Check engine come on and eco will not work they charged me $150. 00. Honda tested the vehicle and has evidence of the excessive oil consumption. I researched this due to them saying to fix this issue it would cost me $8000 and found there is an extended warranty add for this problem but the dealership says my car does not qualify. The extended warranty recall states that 2010 Honda Accord's qualify, but they will not make repairs for excessive oil consumption which has caused my catalytic converters to fail as well as my spark plugs and piston rings. I have researched and advised the mechanic this is called the vtc acuator and seems to be common in 2008 to 2011 Honda Accord's. The dealer instructed me not to drive my car it could catch fire and blow up and to contact corporate which is my next step.

28 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/01/2018

My Honda Accord 2013 has a burning oil issue. For every 3,000miles, my dipstick will only have 1/2 or 1/4 from the original top level. I noticed this problem last September 2018 when I to a road trip in fresno. When I checked my dipstick, it hardly had any oil on the supposed level. I dropped by a gas station and poured 1quart of oil and the oil level went up to 1/2 of the dipstick. If I did not put oil, then my car would have been running without any oil and could just stop any moment I was driving. I informed century Honda on 12/01/2018 about the problem and powertrain warranty was still in effect. As of today, it appears century Honda refuses to address the issue.

32 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2010 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/27/2018

Excessive oil burning - vehicle has less than 100k miles is burning oil. No dipstick reading for oil in engine (for every 3,000 miles driven). Car pings and no or little power from engine due to oil loss. Dealer test stated 1/2qt of oil used every 1,000 miles. Typical Honda oil change is every, 7,500 miles (per their manual) - if waited that long no oil would be in engine. Dangerous and significant issue - Honda stated it will not fix and stated 1/2 qt of oil burned every 1,000 miles is not excessive or significant !! - from a car owner, it is very significant. Compound this with the months and months wait for the takata recall for air bags issue - the Honda 2010 crv has significant issues. I have a CO-worker that has a 2010 Acura with 300,000 miles and oil loss issues.

Vehicle was taken for diagnostics and air bag recall. While driving vehicle kicked while on the freeway. Honda states oil was 3 quarts too low. Oil indicator was at 30% and never warranted low oil. Oil was added and I was instructed to come back once I have driven 1000 miles to see if engine is burning or consuming too much oil. 35 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2014 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/15/2018

I informed Honda about my car's oil system problem, and how the engine is burning oil at a faster rate than normal. I told them that I had my car checked several times at Honda in burlingame for this problem. There was no leaks, yet they couldn't determine the cause. They just told me to keep an eye on the oil gauge on the dashboard. At the 50% level it made a beeping noise and I had the oil checked. It was almost completely empty! therefore the oil gauge was useless. I wrote to Honda and told them the problems. They just told me to get it checked again and was unwilling to do anything about this potential hazard. Now I am concerned about driving this defective vehicle, and very alarmed that Honda is not concerned about this potential danger or their customer's safety.
