My 2003 3. 2cls Acura had an airbag recall in in 2016. My vehicle was supposedly repaired at this time. However, recently my srs light has been on requiring me to take my car to an Acura dealer. The dealer believes my steering wheel air bag has a faulty air inflator, which they Claim is out of warranty and may require me to pay $3000 to repair. I do not understand how the manufacturer of the airbag/inflator can avoid repairing this. Shouldn't an airbag last longer than 8 years? what if everyone had to replace their airbags every eight years?.

I have an srs light illuminated on my dashboard. Upon researching this, it is apparently a sensor issue which, when the light is on, indicates that the sensor in the seat - belt is malfunctioning, and this will keep the air bags from deploying. This of course is a serious safety issue. Also, in reviewing the warranty information, it states that all seat-belt issues are under a lifetime warranty. I'm wondering if you could provide confirmation of this. Thank you, randal steadman.

Unable to get the airbag replaced after more than 6 months of the recall notice. I contacted Acura and their local dealers but was being bounced around without any update in terms of parts availability or timing for fixing the problem. There was another Honda airbag related fatality reported today. Acura needs to take the airbag recall seriously after 6 months has elapsed.

I currently drive the car for work so if this issue isn't resolved soon it presents a big hazard to myself and others.

I have a recall on my airbags but the Acura repair shop does not have the part and it has been 6 months since I received the notice that their is a dangerous recall. What can I do?.
A recall was issued several months ago for my airbags. The parts are not available and I have yet to receive notification of the recall from Acura (I found out on the web). Previously, I had contacted Acura by mail and was told over the phone that I would have to pay for my airbags to be fixed when the first takata recalls happened in 2016). My car is without a doubt unsafe to drive. I've attached the original letter I wrote them based on our conversations. They do have my contact information! there is no excuse for the delay in notifying me or in repairing my airbags.

My dashboard started cracking on around June 14-16 2013. The car stays in the garage and not out in the elements. It started out with one crack and later a second crack appeared and got progressively worse. We think it is the outline of the airbags or in that area. Also, there is another crack located above the steering wheel on the driver's side. I called vandergriff Acura and filed a complaint online, but not sure where to go. As of yet, there are no recalls for dashboard 2004 tl Acura, but I did notice several complaints on line. This should be a recall. I am afraid the airbags will deploy and someone may be hurt. This need to be addressed ASAP.
My srs light turned on a few days ago, so I went into mullers woodfiled Acura in hoffman estates, IL. For them to diagnose the issue, they charged me $130. 00 and told me that opds control unit needs to be replaced and it will cost me Close to $800 with a managers discount. This opds unit had a manufacturers extended warranty which ran for 10years and expired sometime in 2010/2011. Now that it is out of warranty, I have to pay for this by myself. I did call Acura/Honda Client relations/customer service hotline and the customer service rep: [xxx] who opened up a case #[xxx], did assist me by apologizing but somehow did not even offer me a discount. I am very disappointed with Honda/Acura for this warranty issue because I did not replace this opds unit because my srs light never turned on, am I supposed to purposely turn it on before the warranty expired to get the opds unit replaced? I believe it should be replaced at least once for everyone that ever owned a Honda/Acura model that had a similar issue. I would appreciate it if someone could get back to me to direct me to right person that could assist me with this issue and/or open up a case against Honda/Acura to help resolve this issue. Thank you information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My son hit a pole and the air bag crushed him. He died! it ripped his aorta, his liver, crushed his lungs, head injury, metal in chest.
