Acura CL owners have reported 16 problems related to electrical system (under the electrical system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Acura CL based on all problems reported for the CL.
There is a major issue with the relay under the steering wheel blocking the fuel from the pump going to the engine. This also affects the security system as well as the rack and pinion. The vehicle security turns itself on and off as it pleases, often leaving driver/passengers stranded and sometimes with the alarm not shutting off. This is after having keys re-programmed and most parts replaced for a hefty price tag. Due to this, the vehicle will only start at times. I've seen several similar complaints and taken it to many costly mechanics. I paid $7,000 for this vehicle a couple of years ago but only got to drive it a few times because there is always an issue that can't be fixed.

My srs light is on, and always on, driving, in park, etc. However, my car has not been recalled. I read that if the srs light is on the system will not work, however the seat belt restraint in both front seats and side air bag indicator both work. Dealer should examine, determine problem and fix at no cost. My navi dvr system also works only intermittently. I have the most recent disc. Mostly it is a bunch of lines across the screen, black and white, sometime blue and white. I would say one in 20 starts the navi system works.
It is my drivers side window the window part in door that cause window to go up and down breaks at any given time it just happened again I looked in Acura forum where it's everyone is having problems same thing and the company new about the problem did it anyway and hoped no recall would come about. Now this is shades practice I went to roll my window down a bee was in car I was driving and couldn't just pull over on free way. My window broke again I got stung I'm swollen from sting and all cause couldn't roll down a window that should always work! I have had it with Acura.

Car was parked outside during summer heatwave. Interior was hot. Vehicle started with hesitation, ran for a moment, and then stalled and failed to start in the middle of a busy intersection. Crank, no start, was the final symptom. Occupants were nearly hit by a medium duty truck who had trouble stopping. After the car was hauled to a shady location, the interior cooled and it again started. Since that sentinel event, the car stalled or failed to start 3-4 times-- each time after being parked in the sun. Traced problem to a failed solder joint in the pgm-fi main relay under the dash. It controls power to fuel and ecu. The circuit board was not designed to tolerate the expansion and contraction associated with temp changes in the interior. A quick internet search reveals that many people are suffering from large repair bills for diagnostics and inappropriate repairs because this is an intermittent problem. Relay needs recalled! affects nearly every Honda / Acura since approx. 1998.
The car is stalling during operation and the immobilization system light blinks. I then have trouble restarting the car. I've switched keys, but it does this with both of them. This is identical to the description of the reason for a previous recall. However, the dealership said the effected parts had already been replaced on my vehicle and wouldn't replace them again for free.

The key for my 2001 Acura Cl can be removed regardless the position of the car's automatic transmission shift lever. In other words, the lock-out that should prevent this from happening in any position other than "park" is not functioning. This has occurred all the time over a period of several months and I understand this is a problem on other Honda manufactured vehicles. As a result of this issue, my car rolled into my garage door after I had shut it off and gotten out of the vehicle, having mistakenly left in "drive". Damage minor. I have an appointment with the dealer for repairs (he doesn't believe me). Since this is a potentially dangerous situation, a recall, or at least an owner alert, should be considered.
Srs indicator light is on and according to the dealer it was an error cod15-3. They told the consumer that it was caused by cell phone or electrical interference. There was a TSB which applied to error code 15-3. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer and they reset the sensor switch, this happened again the next morning. Do not know status of the airbag systems is not. The consumer did not feel that a cell phone could cause this type of interference.
