I was driving down interstate 19, when the transmission started to fail, there was heavy traffic and my car going up and down on speed limit, 65-35 miles per hour. Almost had cars behind me rear end my Acura Cl, so I pulled over to avoid a sudden accident, the vehicle had just been in the Acura dealership for a minor inspection of a sudden noise in the transmission area. They advised me that it was starting to miss and did not mention not to drive it. A new traansmission costs $4700.

I purchased an Acura 2001 Cl type s 2 years ago and was not aware that the car had recall problems involving the transmission. On 02/19/08 my transmission started acting up. It makes a loud noise and will not go in reverse. I took the car to the Honda dealer in serramonte, CA. They refuse to fix the car stating it was repaired years ago. They said it will cost me $4,000. 00 to repair the car. I am still making payments on this car and cannot afford to repair it myself. I feel they should repair it because it had a recall issue. It is very unsafe for my 6 year old son and myself. . . Suppose the transmission completely fails. . We could be injured and even loose our lives. I do not know what to do now.
While driving transmission produced a Clanking noise. The part was replaced twice. However, the problem recurred.
There is a transmission problem with Acura 1999 2. 3cl. A heavy rattling noise comes when I drive the car 20-30 mph or when I try to accelerate from halt. The noise is sometimes so heavy and frightening, that I had to pull over my car on the shoulder for atleast 6-8 times. I went to the dealer, asking to repair, but he said that this is a problem with all 4cyl engines of that year.
