Add auto high beam problem to the above adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and collision mitigation. Suddenly got several warning popups and persistent warning lights on related to the identified issues. We just replaced the battery a few months ago, and didn't have any of these problems until this week. Now, it happens every time we start the vehicle. We did the recall software upgrade. I suspect these problems are related to that software upgrade. Many people online report identical problems without solutions. Please advise re next steps for how to resolve.

While driving the car, several warning lights turned on all at once, saying that the following components were disabled: lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and collision mitigation braking system. Not being able to use these features is more dangerous, not to mention that the warning lights associated with their disabling are distracting (making it likely that, if a more serious warning was flashing, it would not be noticed by the driver) and cannot be turned off without an expensive replacement. Yes, the problem was confirmed by a trusted mechanic (the warning lights will not turn off so it's not hard to confirm), who indicated that the radar camera needed to be replaced. No, the component has not been inspected by others. There was no warning of the problem.
Front windshield camera went bad due to overheating. When malfunction it gives multiple warning lights, everything that has to deal with front windshield camera does not work. Ive hearing multiple and multiple stories online and in person that they too is affected by camera malfunctioning. There needs to be a recall on it as it is affecting way too many people. My car is a 2019 with only 47000 miles pretty much still new. Parts plus labor and camera calibration is $2200.

I drove my car in the morning and parked it in the lot for about an hour. After I came back and started my car, the following multiple safety systems displayed on my dashboard at the same time: - lane keeping assist problem - collision mitigation system problem - road departure mitigation system problem - auto high beam problem - adaptive cruise control problem when I took it to the dealership on the same day to diagnose this, they came back and said it was an internal failure with the camera and quoted me around $2200 to replace and recalibrate the camera. These lights just came on out of nowhere, I had no repairs or modifications with my windshield and there were no accidents of any sort. This appears to be a widespread problem among 2020 Acura Mdx vehicles with similar camera modules. A malfunctioning front camera can prevent the vehicle from automatically braking or maintaining lanes, hence increasing the risk of collision. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the front multi-purpose camera system on the 2020 Acura Mdx for potential defect and safety hazard.
Dear Acura, my Mdx is showing many lights on the dashboard (lkas, acc, break system, cmbs, rdm) associates with the code u3000-49 and all those features are deactivated due to the failure mentioned. I was searching on the website for this error and found many Acura Mdx oweners experiencing the same issue which apparently the windshield lane departure camera. Honestly, Acura should take a look into this since this issue is getting worse and those are safety features on the vehicle. Regards,.

The front camera failure. Needs replacement. Camera apparently is used for the acc , lane departure assistance.
The lkas and parking systems will randomly decide to cease functioning and express error messages. The car has not been in an accident.
The front camera mounted near the rear view mirror stopped working which caused several systems to fail. Acura was slow to respond and was not able to complete the repair because the camera was backordered for several months.
I was driving to work yesterday morning- busiest time of day on probably the busiest road in our area. My car started freaking out randomly. It popped up numerous errors. The steering wheel locked up. The brakes weren’t working well. I had a car behind me. Thankfully they were paying attention because they were very close to rear ending me. But they dodged me. I finally jerked the wheel and got it pulled over to the side of the road until someone could come get me and take me to work. There could have been a different outcome. After being hit head on in February of this year, this incident was not good for my ptsd!!!! my anxiety has been through the roof since this incident with a car that I bought six months ago! as soon as I can trade this car off and get something else, I will be. We still don’t know what it’s wrong with it. We are going to have it towed somewhere on Monday. This was a major safety risk for me and for the others on the road!!! if my kids had been in the car, I would’ve been even more upset over the situation.
Uknown acc, lkas, brake system warning lights intermittently come on. Started around 25000. More persistent now. Dealer advisor checked windshield/wiped over where the camera is and since it was not on at the dealership no problem found. Just stated the camera is funky sometimes. Vehicle has 59000 now. Not sure exactly what components are effected but the safety features of the vehicle no longer work properly such as the breaking warning.
My 2020 Acura Mdx is throwing up multiple dashboard warnings related to the camera sensor—involving systems like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, collision mitigation, and road departure mitigation. These systems rely heavily on the multipurpose camera unit mounted near the rearview mirror. I took it to my Acura dealership service and they concluded it's the multipurpose camera unit that's causing all these dashboard warnings. They are charging me $1800+ for a new one to be installed. I have researched and googled this issue online, and there were hundreds and hundreds of comments from Honda car owners that have faced this issue, especially Honda and Acura models made in 2019-2020. Many have bought a used camera unit for approx. $150 online and got it installed & calibrated. Others have said that this camera unit is so hot to the touch since it's located under the windshield. I agree with a lot of these Honda/Acura owners that this malfunction of this camera is a safety issue for the car drivers and others around them since these codes just pops out suddenly making the drivers so nervous during driving. Also, these cameras under the windshield get so, so hot that it could also start a combustible hazard. These units should be encased in a heat-tolerant case/cover and not metal.
On Saturday [xxx] I was travelling on [xxx] from orangeburg to atlanta. I did was not using cruise control but the system was enabled. Enabling the cruise control system on my automatically enabled the lkas(lane keep assist) feature on my car. On at least two other occasions, specifically going around corners at low speed, I've had the lkas system grab the wheel and steer the car aggressively to the left. On these prior occasions we were travelling at low speed and the road conditions were questionable as in striping of the roads were not clear. On [xxx], the road conditions were optimal minus being a little wet due to rain. The lkas unexpectedly turned the wheel hard to the left going around a corner at 55mph and into oncoming traffic. Before I could regain control of the vehicle it veered into a ditch, across a culvert and landed in the ditch on the other side of a driveway. If not for sheer luck both I and the oncoming driver would be dead and the car destroyed. I am taking the car to a dealer tomorrow to have them inspect the lkas. There were no warning lamps, message or any other alerts prior to the lkas taking over the steering. Upon coming to a rest and recovering, I inspected the vehicle and found no damage save a deflating front tire and was able to drive the car back to atlanta. I do not have dashcam footage of the other occurrence of the lkas malfunctioning but I did have a dashcam in the car and running when this latest incident occurred and if possible I will attach it to this complaint. Prior to submitting this complaint and contacting a dealership to have the car inspected I did put in my VIN and research if there had been any recalls on the lkas system in my model year vehicle. I can confirm that there were not but there had been recalls for earlier versions of the same vehicle. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Got multiple warnings, systems don't work: collision mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping asist, road departure mitigation system. All those additional systems designed for safety are no longer working. The front camera failed, as confirmed by the dealer. Part is available for inspection.
The front camera responsible for forward collision warning and lanekeep has failed. The camera has part number 36160-tyr-a02. It failed on it's own but it could have been alot worse if it failed before a collision occurred. The dealer and independent repair shop said it was the camera code u3000-49 and this was an out of pocket repair. The symptoms include having these error messages on the gauge cluster. Adaptive cruise, lane keep assist, road departure, collision mitigation, and auto high beam problem. At first it would intermittently show up but then after a while those errors would not go away.
Front camera not working triggered multiple warning lights on.
While operating the vehicle, multiple driver-assist warning indicators illuminated on the dashboard, including lkas (lane keeping assist system), acc (adaptive cruise control), and cmbs (collision mitigation braking system). The systems either disengaged or functioned erratically during normal driving conditions. At times, the vehicle failed to maintain lane position, abruptly disengaged adaptive cruise control, or displayed collision alerts when no obstruction was present. Now it is constant. Safety impact: the failure of the lkas, acc, and related systems can cause unexpected loss of vehicle assist functions, leading to abrupt speed changes or compromised lane control, increasing the risk of collision if not promptly corrected.
Lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning all stopped working and received error codes. Dealership stated camera was faulty and needed to be replaced at my cost. Continued issues with electrical systems where the car alarm will go off intermittently, and vehicle will not lock unless manually locking. Dealership stated Smart control unit needs to also be replaced at my cost. Part number for control unit #38320 was issued by Honda motor company service bulletin 21-055 for their Honda ridgeline. Acura dealer will not honor since part number does not specify Acura. Part issued in service bulletin is 38320-t6z-a11 (Honda ridgeline) part needed to be replaced by Acura is 38320-trx-a11. Other service bulletins related to original issues: 20-015, 19-005, 23-008, and 24-022 and safety recall report 23v-751. Dealership is still placing responsibility of repair of defective parts on car owner.
While at a stoplight, my car notified me of many sensors having "problems" from my understanding, it relates to the front camera located on the windshield. I am unable to use these additional safety features since the problem arose earlier this week. Had this gone out while I was driving, my family and I could have been fatally affected. My cursory research online shows this is a recurring problem that customers need to address independently. All expenses are paid from their own pockets. There were no warnings prior to the system's failure. I have not taken my car in yet for this to be addressed. I am frustrated that this is a known issue with no proactive solution by a brand I had trusted.
While driving the vehicle and while it was in motion, I received a wave of faults. The power steering, lane departure, brake system, brake hold system, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, trailer stability, and adaptive cruise control all failed. Consequently, the steering wheel locked completely while the car was in motion. I couldn’t steer at all, and the car was in motion! I informed american Honda and the dealer, who informed me that “they had never heard of such a problem”, and that they were “unable to duplicate the issue” when the tow truck brought it into the shop.
2019 Acura Mdx a-spec started up the SUV and the following appears on the dash: acc problem collision mitigation problem lake keep assist problem auto high beam problem battery has been replaced and issue still exists. Cruise control does not work at all. "break problem" light remains lit.
Driving in rain and multiple systems failed at once without any reason. Car indicates brake systems, lane assistance, power steering, collision mitigation, stability control, etc all indicate problems. No reason for it to all go out at once.
Forward looking camera failed at 62k miles, it won't communicate with the computer according to dealership diagnosis on 11-18-2022. Replacement cameras are on backorder, with no availability date. Vehicle is available for inspection. The issue directly affects forward collision, lane departure and cruise control. It no longer warns me if approaching something too quickly. It no longer tells me if I drift into another lane or corrects it. Cruise control stopped working as well. Distracting lights and beeping when driving, says windshield needs to be cleaned on instrument cluster. Issue began in mid 2022. According to my research, failing cameras seem to be an issue. Replacement camera is approx $1500, plus the labor to install and align.
Observation 1: lane-keeping assistance is unreliable and the results of its operation are highly variable. In optimum conditions (daylight, wide lanes which are clearly marked; good contract between lane markings & pavement; no more than very gentle, wide-radius curves), this feature will do one of three things when the vehicle starts to drift from the middle of the lane: (1) the feature will gently steer the vehicle back to the desired position, (2) the feature will exhibit a warning by vibrating the steering wheel and allow the vehicle to change lanes or (3) fail and do nothing -- without any warning whatsoever. One never knows how the car will react but it certainly cannot be trusted. Observation 2: when driving in light traffic or no traffic conditions the vehicle will occasionally brake aggressively. This was observed to occur on multiple occasions. Two situational examples which have been observed several times: (1) four lane roadway inside city limits; speed: 40mph; I was gently braking to stop behind a vehicle stopped at a traffic light; car applied brakes rapidly nearly causing a rear-end crash as the vehicle behind me did not anticipate the Acura's action. (judging from the hand signal I received I believe the driver of the vehicle behind me though I was administering a "brake test" -- a common precursor to "road rage. ") (2) driving on a two lane country road at 50-55mph; no other traffic within hundreds of feet in any direction; vehicle brakes rapidly for no apparent reason; my attempt to accelerate and over-ride the "safety feature" was unsuccessful -- eventually the Acura stopped this action and I was able to resume desired speed. Important to note: at no time during these incidents did braking occur to avoid a crash or minimize damage. These were uncommanded operations that actually increased the probability of a crash. These events occurred between 11/21 and 03/22.
At different times, either with my wife or I driving the vehicle, we will receive error messages on the dash indicating that various systems are inoperative. These involve the lane keeping assist system and the braking system. I also believe that the cruise control does not function when these messages appear.
Engine light on stating: lean code, all wheel drive systems problem, emmision system problem. The vehicle was moving when it came on.
