Electronic Stability Control Problems of Acura MDX - part 2

I am writing because I just received a safety recall notice from Acura relating NHTSA action number : ea13002. My daughter was involved in an accident (she's ok!) where she had to swerve to avoid an oncoming car that had drifted into her lane rounding a left hand bend. Our 2005 Acura Mdx went out of control despite her attempts to control the vehicle, which she did after it had blown out two tires. Could her braking and swerving result in the subsequent over correction of our Mdx and be the result of the vehicle stability assist control module malfunctioning as described in the recall notice from Acura.

I had to put the car in park and press the gas pedal to keep in running. On my way to the mechanic the car accelerated really fast with a hard jerking motion. It cut off when I stopped at the street light. I turned the car back on and drove no more than fifteen feet when it started jerking again. I restarted the car and drove a few miles when it began to lose power and smoke and. I called aaa and got towed to a mechanic who told me I needed a new transmission. Which he quoted me $3,400 for a one year warranty.

The vehicle shows all trouble codes, vsa stability, trailer stability, all wheel drive, engine system. Error. Once code comes on loss of power and stability control.

On an unobstructed road no traffic in front the vehicle will apply brakes, activate seat belt restrains and signal that an object is in front when there is nothing. It is triggered by road repairs steel plates. Dealer service was able to reproduce but claims this is normal as per mfg technical department. This is not our first vehicle with collision avoidance system the other vehicle does not gets these error messages under wet or icy/snow conditions this could be very dangerous.

1st occurrence) during the month of March 2011, the car started jerking while I was driving. It would speed up then lose power. It was very hard to stop the car. I took it to a mechanic who put it on a machine that showed I needed a new transmission. I paid $2,800 for a rebuilt 90 day warranty transmission. Something must be be done to bring awareness to this issue along with reimbursing customers for having to spend their money repeatedly for issues that keep occurring. I need help in finding out how I can submit a claim for reimbursement to cover the cost of Honda's faulty manufacturer defect.

When crusing 20-30 miles, the transmission would shrudder or make loud gridding noises and vehicle would shake. Dealer couldn't duplicate noise and nothing was done until 2014. Transmission oil was changed and if problems comes back, they would change it. Problem came back and now makes trembling noise and feel it when reaching speed of 49 exactly and 1500rpm, during shifting gears and could get stuck. Dealer stated is normal sound. Now I have check engine light with code p0706, which is open in transmission range switch circuit probable cause. Searched and it seems that this year model, Acura Mdx 2006, has had problems with transmissions and no recalls. Car makes noise while this is happening while on the highway. Sometimes the truck gets stuck doing this until I accelarate or bring down the speed on the highway. There are many complains with this issue, an Acura has not acknowledge the problem. I am afraid to have an accident on the highway or the vehicle gets stuck trying to change gears.

Since about February 2010 the vehicle stability assist system will randomly activate during periods of prolonged highway driving. This condition usually happens on dry pavement and without warning. It feels like only the drivers side front brake is applied and the vehicle swerves to the right uncontrollably. The condition has nearly caused me to crash multiple times and is very frightening. I have had the Acura dealer troubleshoot the problem many times with no results. The most recent time this happened was early December 2013. I immediately dropped the vehicle off at an Acura dealer and the vehicle was diagnosed with a faulty lateral acceleration sensor. Unfortunately this part is not available at this time and is on indefinite backorder. This is a serious safety issue that has nearly caused harm to myself and other vehicles due to my out of control vehicle. I am now without transportation until Acura is able to get the part back in stock. Acura of America has refused to even log and file my complaint let alone assist me with this safety issue and hardship.

Auto damper system on 2008 Mdx stops working due to sensor problems in shocks/ struts. Auto damper system adjusts shock sensitivity to road conditions and has two modes, comfort and sport. When the system malfunctions the shocks/struts default to a given sensitivity. The danger occurs if the driver believes that he/she is in sport mode and the system malfunctions while driving it could cause a wrong interpretation of the road and potentially hamper the safety of the driver/passengers. My Mdx has had regular failures in the sensors, I have conversed with several other Mdx owners and this is a problem that occurs on a regular basis.
