When at a complete stop at a stop light or stop sign and ready to press the gas to accelerate, there’s a delay for the car to even start moving. It doesn’t want to go when pressed on. Which can cause the person behind me to hit the back of the car. It nearly came to that. There’s sudden fast movement when accelerating to get the car to move forward. It’s been happening numerous times where the gas pedal isn’t recognizing the acceleration part. I’ve read plenty forums about this issue with this vehicle and still not enough complaints for a recall? can we look into this as this is a safety issue. The car won’t accelerate when you want it to.

This is a complaint about the defective tpms components in this vehicle. I sent a copy to Acura and Honda client relations and to the dealer (montano Acura). [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My 2025 Acura Mdx randomly turns off when in auto stop/start mode at stoplights and I have to restart it. After it happen twice, my husband took it to the dealer, and they could not find anything wrong with it. It happened a third time and this time the dealer kept it for a week. They found nothing so their system doesn't detect problems well. I had their loaner, a 2025 Mdx a-spec. I was driving the vehicle into a parking space at my office which faces a 4-lane highway. My foot was on the brake, and I was 2/3rds into the space. Suddenly the car lunges forward, revs up and takes off over the curb, over 3 bushes and down a sloped hill into the highway. I could not stop the vehicle! my hands were on the steering wheel and my foot on the brake as I was bracing for impact with another vehicle. Thankfully there were no cars in the lane! as I entered the right lane a car passed by me. The engine then revved down, and I was able to gain control of the car and pull into the parking lot. I have met with the managers at the dealership. They still cannot find what's wrong with my car as the computer doesn't show anything. They have run a test on the loaner car as well and said they could not find any issues with it either. They are calling in an engineer to inspect the loaner car. I or someone else could have been badly injured or killed! I feel the Mdx a-spec I was driving is a deadly vehicle, and I do not want this to happen to anyone else!! there were no warning messages or problems prior to the incidence my hope is that there would be an investigation into this vehicle and into Honda/Acura to see it there is safety issues with their vehicles. The photos are of the area the incident happened. The dealer has the vehicle. Thank you, angela rogers.
Front sunroof panel spontaneously exploded while driving on the interstate highway. No impacts or other things touched the sunroof. Vehicles behind had to avoid large portions of the sunroof panel. Flying glass made it dangerous to quickly leave the highway. This is a 2024 Mdx with less than 30,000 miles. Never been in an accident before.

Car engine sometimes does not restart when the auto start-stop feature is engaged. Car engine is also sluggish to restart when it does work. My local Acura dealer evaluated the car on 10/15/25, found battery was low. Battery was replaced that day, and things seemed okay for about a week. Today (10/21) when I was stopped at a traffic light, the issue returned and my car would not restart after going into auto start-stop. The car had been on for about 30 minutes. When I tried to restart the engine, it took three tries before finally turning over. Fortunately, this has only happened thus far for me at stoplights, but safety could definitely be impacted if the engine does not turn back on and the car needs to be maneuvered quickly. No warning lights or messages appeared prior to the issue. This started for me about 3 weeks ago. No accidents or known issues with the car prior to the issue. There does not seem to be a predictable pattern to the auto start-stop feature failing.
Heard a loud “pop” while sitting in parked car. Radio volume spiked up and the passenger side of windshield was shattered. Clear defect in installation.
When driving and the stopping the auto start/stop feature does not rengage and the car places itself in park and becomes disabled and difficult to restart. When driving on a major highway when I was in traffic the car shut down, put itself into park and would not restart upon removing my foot from the brake. It then gave numerous error messages and would not respond to any commands. Traffic started moving and cars were then needing to go around my disabled vehicle. It finally responded to me trying to restart it. We had the car checked the week before it happened due to it being slow to re-engage when the auto start stop would be used. The dealership reported that there was nothing wrong. Brought it back after is was disabled on the highway for 5 minutes and they are still saying there is nothing wrong if they do not see it happen themselves. It is a danger to drive.
During three separate incidents, my vehicle’s engine unexpectedly shut off without warning, twice in the middle of moving traffic and once while idling in a drive-thru when the engine idle stop/start feature was engaged. In each case the vehicle did not immediately restart, leaving me and my family exposed to oncoming traffic and high-speed vehicles, especially once while exiting a highway. The malfunction appears related to the engine’s idle stop/start or fuel/ignition system, but no specific component has been identified; the vehicle remains available for inspection upon request. Although I reported the incidents to the dealership, they stated they could not reproduce the problem and therefore could not repair it. . No warning lamps, error messages, or other visible symptoms appeared before or during any of the shutdowns, the engine simply stopped running, so there was no advance notice before the failures occurred.
On multiple occasions, after coming to a complete stop, the engine shut off as designed but then failed to automatically restart when I released the brake pedal or pressed the accelerator. This left the vehicle completely disabled in traffic until I manually restarted it by shifting into park and pressing the ignition button. This failure is unpredictable, occurs without warning, and poses a significant risk of collision, particularly when stopped at busy intersections or in heavy traffic. I contacted my Acura dealer, who confirmed that this issue is a known concern on 2016–2020 Mdx models and that Acura has issued technical service bulletins (such as 23-001 and 23-002) and a warranty extension. However, even after updates, the problem continues to occur, and there is no permanent remedy at this time.

The auto start feature on the vehicle has been failing. When you come to a stop the engine’s start feature enables but when proceeding to start moving again the vehicle stalls out and will not restart right away. The vehicle must sit for about 30secs or after two tries in order to restart up. It has stalled out on me while in traffic on the highway, at traffic lights, stop signs. My most recent experience was me being stuck at an intersection unable to move for an ambulance and firetruck in route to an emergency. This issue has put my safety as well as others at risk many times. I have voiced my concerns many times with the dealership but they state there is nothing wrong with my auto start feature nor any other issues that can contribute to this. Any help with this issues is appreciated.
While driving our sunroof exploded. There was a loud pop, I thought a tire, my grand daughter thought a gun shot. We pulled off the road to find the sunroof had cracked down the sides and the back and a crack diagonally. We were traveling so we taped it up and when we returned home took the Mdx to the Acura dealer.
The hazard warning switch on my 2011 Acura Mdx technology & entertainment package VIN [xxx] sticks. It is due to a manufacturing defect and not because of normal wear and tear. That is a safety concern because when it is pressed and sticks, such as when giving the right of way to an emergency vehicle, or in bad weather, it not possible to make it unstuck while driving, and requires a screwdriver to pry it back to unstuck position, and if that option is not available then the stuck hazard switch will drain the battery when the vehicle is shut down. Please refer to enclosed Acura servicenews article b15070c. On 8/9/2025, for my service at hendrick Acura, I requested this known safety issue be fixed. I demonstrated by pressing the hazard switch that got stuck and required a screwdriver to unstick it. But the dealer unreasonably wanted me to pay $99 diagnostic fee to troubleshoot an obvious issue and even when I showed them the Acura servicenews article b15070c. So, I was forced to confirm the issue indirectly myself. On 8/11/2025, I ordered a replacement hazard switch part number 33510-stx-a02 from another Acura dealer contemporary cars, for $37. 02, per enclosed, even though it was a waste of my money. I swapped out the hazard switch and as expected it still got stuck. I have enclosed two pictures of my diy diagnostic. I then searched for replacement dashboard center panel online from the Acura dealers, but I am unable to find any available. I then contacted Acura client relations on 8/25/2025, and they opened a case # [xxx]. Kevin from Acura client relations called and stated that b15070c does not apply to my VIN. But I disagree because b15070c states for 'affected vehicles' - "2010-13 Mdx (all trim levels except base. " hence, I am contacting NHTSA to ask Acura to cover my VIN as a saftey recall, and either provide me a replacement center panel that does not have the same manufacturing defect, or ask hendrick Acura to replace it free of cost. Thank you. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information a.

My 2023 Acura (VIN# [xxx] ) has experienced two separate incidents of sudden, total power loss while driving. In both cases, all dashboard warning lights came on, including the brake light, and the vehicle reduced speed to 20 mph and would not accelerate. The first incident occurred while I was driving on a 55 mph expressway, creating a major safety hazard. I had to maneuver to safety in high-speed traffic. The second incident occurred under similar conditions. The dealer has been unable to resolve the issue. I am filing this report to document the safety risk for investigation. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The geniuses at Acura / Honda quit installing siriusxm in the 2025 Mdx and instead relies on the user's cell phone paired to the "radio" to get siriusxm. My issue is that it cuts out when my cell phone doesn't have a clear view of the siriusxm satellite. Sometimes it continues when reception improves, but most times I have to reboot the sirusxm app on my cell phone. This quite dangerous in traffic and definitely is not a safe action. I'm quite ready to change cars because I don't want someone to get hurt because of this design flaw. This has been happening since I bought the car in January but is getting more frequent with the foliage on the trees.
I have experienced the vehicle not unlocking when the key fob is near(in my pocket) the vehicle and my hand is touching the door handles. The vehicle is designed to unlock when the key fob is in close proximity while hands are on the handle. This is a safety/security concern because in an emergency, the vehicle does not function as it is intended to.
Vehicle is getting errors for emssions controls, parking brake, and sh-awd system faults all at the same time. Car will still function normally and codes will go off and come back intermittently. Also while reading the codes it will get a u3006-16 code for low voltage on the ecm. Confirmed battery is good under load test and alternator is charging at 14. 2 volts.

I been having deceleration problem and shut down unexpectedly problem with my Acura Mdx 2020 truck. I can be driving my truck normally and out of no where my truck would lose power slow down and eventually shut off completely. I avoided like 5 car accidents with this incident happened to me. I have bring the truck to Acura and they are not fixing my problem. I am scared to dead to drive my own truck. I always drive with my kids in my truck. Please help I don’t know what else to do. This truck is going to get me in a nasty car accident and I can even lost my life. Back in 2024 in September I was driving on 78 on my way to jersey city, I was driving like 65 miles, my truck slow down lose power and eventually turned off. Someone almost hit me from behind. On Wednesday July 02/2025 I was driving like 20 miles approaching a red light to stop once I press the break pedal my truck completely shuts off. I needed to wait like 1 minute or 2 to turn on. Also on Thursday July 3/2025. I was on my way to the hospital with my kids and my truck turn off completely on a burger king drive through. That day I took my truck again to Acura to check on it. They told me nothing was wrong with my truck.
Phone: 862-452-2998 VIN: 5fryd4h51hb033714 vehicle : 2017 Acura Mdx dealership: dch montclair Acura, bloomfield NJ 07103 warranty: extended warranty active previous case 1526905 subject : formal complaint-dashboard errors and inadequate warranty support dear Acura client relations, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding ongoing dashboard error messages in my 2017 Acura Mdx and the poor handling of the situation by both your customer service and dch montclair Acura in bloomfield, NJ. The errors occur intermittently during my work commute. When I contacted customer service, I was told by case manager (andrew) on 6/11/2025 @ 1:08pm that nothing could be done unless I brought the vehicle in while the warning lights were actively on. This is unrealistic and dismissive. It is not always possible or safe to divert immediately to a dealership and I do not believe that Acura expects its customers to drive around hoping a warning light stays on long enough to be seen by a technician. I understand that modern vehicles like the Mdx store fault codes even after warning lights disappear. That is the purpose of diagnostic equipment. Denying a warranty repair based on whether a technician witnessed an error live undermines the value of the extended warranty I paid for raises serious concerns about safety and accountability. I plan to visit dch montclair and attempt to schedule an appointment in advance. I expect a full diagnostic scan to be performed, with no fee applied unless the issue is clearly outside of warranty. I am requesting the following: a complete diagnostic of stored fault codes, regardless of whether the dashboard errors are active at the time of service. Full written documentation of the findings and action taken a clear explanation of any charges and why they would apply under my extended warranty. If this matter is not resolved appropriately, I will escalate it through the bbb.

Acura Mdx sunroof explosion striking my wife face and glass going into my kids 5 and 3 car seats. The dealer nor american Honda are not taking accountability for it.
My car has been going into neutral when in the autostop. The only way to get out of it is to turn it off and back on. It's incredibly dangerous. I almost got into a horrible accident. It happens suddenly and without warning.
The passenger windshield behind the driver's seat smelled of smoke and exploded the car while driving. This model has had multiple of the same problem with other cars and refused to identify and fix the problem. I have been informed by Acura that it's an out-of-pocket expense and not covered by warranty because it's not yet under recall despite several occurrences.
2017 Acura Mdx. Earlier this year I suspected something was wrong with the car so we took it to Acura in weir canyon to get it checked out. They figured it was the throttle body so they replaced it and then about 2 weeks later the engine had a catastrophic failure. I was driving the car coming out of the freeway and right before I turned right the engine made a huge noise. We tried asking Acura for goodwill assistance but they did not offer anything at all because I bought the car used. I always took the car for its maintenance while the time I've had it. Acura then quoted me for around an 8 thousand dollar repair and then took it to a mechanic and they said its better to get the whole engine replaced at that point and so I did. I've always had Honda cars my whole life and they have been nothing but good but this was something different. I saw that there was a lawsuit going on and a lot of people has had the same problem with there engine specifically the connecting rod bearing which is the problem my car had.
Multiple system warnings lights on dash appear indicating multiple systems issues including possible loss of power. See video first occurrence- August 2024 - dealer said it was due to software that needed to be updated. The repair was completed. Second occurrence - may 2025 - dealer has car for over a week and is unable to find the problem. No codes were stored so they say they can repair it. Honda says it’s the dealers problem I have the last occurrence on cell video but I’m unable how to upload as it’s not jpeg.
I was in traffic on a major highway during rush hour, and my car went into neutral on its own in the middle of the highway. I was unable to put it in drive, restart it, turn it off or do anything else. The car truck behind me almost hit me and other cars were honking their horns as they changed lanes and drove past me. It was extremely frightening and unsafe as my car sat there without moving, on a major highway, in the middle of rush hour, at 5:35 pm. This happened before and I reported it to the dealership in 2024, and took my car in on three different occasions. In November 2024, less than a year after I purchased the certified pre owned car, it shifted into neutral twice within 20 minutes while I was driving intown, and again later than day as I exited a highway. The third time, I was able to get a video of it on my phone. The dealer said they could not reproduce the problem but fortunately, I sent them the video that shows the oil, battery, abs, acc, brake, road departure system, tire pressure, lkas, brake system and other lights were all on. They said they addressed the issue then. This time around, in April 2025, they told me that they were unable to reproduce the issue but that it was because my battery tested low. Nothing was mentioned about a battery in November when the battery was still under warranty. Now they are saying it is the battery. There were no warnings before the car stalled. This is concerning and very unsafe. I cannot upload videos to this report so I have uploaded a few screenshots from it.
This is a known issue with Acura that they have not addressed. The software cannot be updated due to a flaw in their design. The dealerships cannot even update the software since it is designed to only be updated via a wifi connection, which does not work. This is critical, because the 2025 Mdx is actually a major departure from prior years in how the brakes and other functions operate. When I brake, it is very rough and uneven and the engine revs and surges the vehicle forward. Only a software update could possibly fix this, but this is not possible, due to the lack of any access to the car's electronics. Quite frankly, Acura marketed this vehicle to be vastly superior to prior year models, but they cut out various features (including a hard wire connection to the electronics).
I stopped at a red light and when I went to pull of the car cut off. I had to restart the car to pull off. This is the second time that this has happened.
About maybe 2 months ago my tailgate open light comes on. When the exterior light is left on when I get in the car. . . It will go out but the tailgate light open will come on while driving and you will a ding then the light comes on while drive ng. As a result the car alarm. Goes. Off several times. I have checked the tailgate and it is closed I have taken it in but they can't find the reason why this happening. I have been on other forums and this appears to have been a problem. With. Other Acura 2008 Mdx,s.

Keyless access unit shorted and triggered alarm and drained the battery.
My Acura Mdx 2020 had an issue in which the automatic start-stop system sometimes not manage to start the engine after stopping.
March 21, 2025. I made an appointment to the closest Acura dealership (sterling mccall Acura sugar land, TX) for the two recalls I have on my 2020 Acura Mdx. They were not able to accommodate with my timing request. Since I reside more than one hour away, I am not able and willing to drive so many times for this issue. I've asked them to fix the recalls today, as I have 3-4 hours free. They were not able to and offered me a rental car to keep until the problems are fixed. Due to my location and timing consuming to drive to their location (the closest to me), I refused. When I bought my brand new Mdx I trusted the brand, and now they are not able to provide a covenant solution to me. I am very disappointed.
I was stopped at a traffic light and my car just shut off for no reason. I had to keep trying to start it but it wouldn't turn back on. I finally got the car to completely turn off, sat a couple minutes and then restarted it. Thankfully I was able to get it back on before the light changed again.
My Acura Mdx 2016, when stopped in traffic or at a red light will randomly shut down or switch to neutral. It started 2-3 years back. This has happened frequently last few months. Last time I was stuck in the exit of a parking garage blocking the exit. After around 20-30 mins the car decided to start on its own. I took the car directly to a dealer who found no issues with the car. I had the battery replaced recently with a new battery upon searching the internet, I found this link where each person is describing the same issue [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Vehicle make/model/year: 2019 Acura Mdx component affected: forward collision avoidance / lane departure / adas (front camera system) summary of issue: I am filing this complaint regarding a recurring and dangerous issue involving the front windshield-mounted camera on our 2019 Acura Mdx. After purchasing this vehicle and driving approximately 5500 miles in las vegas, multiple critical safety warnings began appearing on the dashboard, including: •“collision mitigation system problem” •“road departure mitigation system problem” •“lane keeping assist problem” •“adaptive cruise control problem” these warnings occur continuosly. The warning lights won’t turn off, resulting in the complete shutdown of essential advanced driver assistance systems (adas). Safety concerns: this camera-related failure disables major safety features designed to prevent accidents. The driver is left without automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, or adaptive cruise control. This is especially dangerous at highway speeds. Acura has not issued a recall, despite the widespread nature of this problem and documented cases in other hot-weather regions. Service experience: we purchased the vehicle used from a Cadillac dealership. The issue began approximately 3 months after purchase. A mechanic confirmed that the front camera system is likely malfunctioning due to heat exposure—a known problem with this model. Why I’m reporting: I believe this is a safety defect that should prompt investigation. Acura appears to have issued technical service bulletins (tsbs) but has not taken action to proactively notify owners or issue a recall. This defect compromises driver and passenger safety and puts others at risk.
Electric parking brake light and emissions system light popped up at the same time. Replaced the battery the lights gone immediately for weeks, but reappears again. Disconnected the battery and reconnected it the lights gone for one month and came back again. Search online there are a lot of similar situations. The dealer replaced parts but the issue stated. There must be some malfunctions of the ecu or something else.
