1 Other Fuel System problem of the 2025 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 05/09/2026

Car engine turns off at a red light, by turn off I mean completely turned off, not just silent. And takes a couple of attempts to restart the car before the engine turns on again. This has happened over 5 or 6 times over the last 3 months, however yesterday (may 9, 2026) it happened twice within the hour. Luckily, I have not been involved in an accident because of this, but I'm concerned that it's easy to imagine a scenario where someone will be rear-ended. Please issue a safety recall for Acura to fix this issue.

2 Other Fuel System problem of the 2025 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 05/04/2026

While stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle had auto shut off normally. However when I released the brake and pushed the gas it unexpectedly stalled and shut off without warning. When attempting to restart the vehicle, it would not start again. There were no prior warning indicators or messages suggesting an imminent issue. This created a hazardous situation as the vehicle was disabled in an active traffic lane. After several attempts, the vehicle either restarted after having set the emergency brake. The failure appears to be sudden and without driver input, raising concerns about reliability and safety in traffic conditions.

3 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 04/25/2026

Car jerked badly on highway when trying to accelerate. It puckered to a stop after a few hours. But started in a few mins and we got home. Mechanic suggested that fuel pressure is low. No repair done. But problem did not surface again for a little bit. Now emissions problem light has come on. This is the third time in 4 months. Once again mechanic suggested low fuel pressure and also pointed to the recall. Writing to request being included.

4 Other Fuel System problem of the 2025 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 04/18/2026

We have had multiple incidents when the car is at a stop light with the idle stop not active, the vehicle engine will just die. The light turns green and the vehicle is not running, it will take multiple times pushing the start button for it to start back up. This has resulted in multiple almost rear end incidents due to other drivers assuming we would go when light turned green. More recently this weekend on a trip from columbus OH to st. Louis mo; stopped to get gas east of indianapolis, after pumping gas the vehicle would not restart. It took multiple tries to get it to restart; this happened again the following day at a stop during the day at a shopping center, we ran in to get subs for lunch, came back out, would not start, I have a video of the sound and flashing lights but I can't upload a video here.

5 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 03/29/2026

When I have already started to go in motion, for example when turning left, and I let go of the gas pedal and then press the gas again once I decide its safe to turn, my car doesn't respond to the gas for about a couple of seconds. This has also happened when I am driving on the highway and I am already in motion and I want to go faster to pass another vehicle, my car hesitates for a couple of seconds before it responds to me pushing the gas pedal.

6 Other Fuel System problem of the 2025 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 03/17/2026

Car stalls at idle. Auto idle does not allow engine to restart from stop. Creating dangerous situations when on highway traffic, traveling around town and more. 2025 Mdx, 21,000 miles Nov 2025 at 14,500 miles reported issue after experiencing intermittently for a few months. Filters replaced, software updated Dec 2025 issue still occurring battery replaced March 2026 issue still occurring starter being replaced technician at dealership did not seem confident that replacing the starter will remedy this issue.

7 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 03/13/2026

While driving my 2020 Acura Mdx a-spec at approximately 63,744 miles, the vehicle suddenly lost all engine power without warning while passing through a busy multi-lane intersection. The loss of propulsion prevented acceleration and forced us to coast across traffic lanes to reach the shoulder, creating a significant safety hazard. The engine would not restart. The vehicle was inspected on 3/17/2026 by lyle pearson Acura (boise, id). The dealership diagnosed catastrophic internal engine failure with the following findings: spun rod bearing in cylinder #6, excessive metal debris in the oil pan, and bearing seizure to the crankshaft. The technician stated the failure pattern is consistent with the rod-bearing defect described in Acura safety recall / service bulletin 24-001. Although my VIN is not currently included in the recall population, the confirmed failure mode matches the known defect. This suggests the issue may extend beyond currently identified vehicles that are included in Acura service bulletin 24-001 and NHTSA recall 23v-751. The vehicle has a salvage title from prior cosmetic damage only; no engine, drivetrain, or structural components were affected. The vehicle has been properly maintained with documented service history. This failure represents a serious safety risk due to sudden loss of power in active traffic conditions, increasing the risk of collision or injury. I request NHTSA review this incident to determine whether additional vehicles should be included in the recall and to assess the broader safety risk.

8 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 03/13/2026

I noticed a whirring sound while driving my Mdx. The repair shop investigated and noted that the bearing in my transfer case assembly is failing and needs immediate replacement to prevent total power loss to the propulsion system of the car. Current milage of the vehicle is 99,500.

9 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 02/07/2026

I am reporting a recurring safety issue following the Acura rod bearing recall repair on my 2019 Acura Mdx sh-awd. The original recall resulted in catastrophic engine failure and Acura replaced the long block assembly. Since that repair, the vehicle has repeatedly failed and returned to the dealership multiple times for the same issue pattern. Symptoms include: * “emissions system problem” warning * sh-awd, brake, and traction control warnings * strong raw gasoline odor * vehicle becoming undriveable/no-start timeline: * recall repair completed with long block replacement * vehicle failed again the next day * dealer repaired vehicle * vehicle failed again about one month later * dealer repaired vehicle again * vehicle failed a third time about one week later during normal commuting the recurring failures are accompanied by a strong gasoline smell, creating concern about fire risk and vehicle safety. I regularly transport children in this vehicle and no longer have confidence in the safety or reliability of the recall repair. The dealership has continued repairing the vehicle and providing loaners, indicating the issue is related to the original recall repair, but the underlying problem has still not been resolved despite multiple repair attempts. I am submitting this report because the recall repair has not resulted in safe and reliable vehicle operation.

10 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 02/01/2026

I was merging into traffic on interstate. The car lagged as if it wasn't getting gas. I pulled over to get out of traffic. Scary situation. Please advise!.

11 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 01/27/2026

Hi, vehicle experienced sudden loss of power and inability to accelerate while driving. Engine entered limp mode and would not rev beyond approximately 2,000 rpm. Vehicle became unsafe to operate in traffic due to lack of acceleration. Dealer diagnosed fault code p0087 (fuel rail/system pressure too low) and confirmed failure of the high-pressure fuel pump. Vehicle had hard starting, delayed throttle response, and multiple warning lights related to engine, emissions, and drivetrain systems. This appears to be a fuel system failure affecting vehicle safety. Acura previously issued fuel-system-related recall(s) for similar vehicles, and this failure occurred despite prior recall-related service. Repair cost is approximately $2,400. Failure resulted in loss of engine power and posed a safety risk, especially when attempting to merge or accelerate in traffic. Vehicle mileage is approximately 160,000 miles.

12 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 01/16/2026

I had a recall done by local Acura dealer, miami doral Acura, where they replaced parts that connected the engine to the car, they are like rods. I recently took the car to a mechanic because I needed to change the timing belt components and he advised me that one of the rods that were replaced failed. This means that the engine was attached by only one rod, the other rod was cut, not connected. I called Acura today reporting the issue with the recall, they gave me a case number 16125924, advising me that some one would get back to me. The same mechanic also advised me that the high pressure fuel pump was not working properly and that my car could stall while driving it and he advised that it would be dangerous to drive it without replacing it. The part he quoted me was around $700. I looked for recalls for this car with this fuel pump issue and found that Acura only recalled some VIN numbers and my car is not one of the VIN numbers recalled. I believe Acura has not recalled all cars involved with the pressure pump. I find it hard to believe that they are not aware of this issue affecting more of the 2018 Mdx model. The recall with the rods failed just a year after they replaced them. I had the rod recall done in 1/25. I cannot drive the car until I have the mechanic replace the high pressure fuel pump and fix the problem with the engine rod recall. Acura needs to be heal accountable and compensate owners that are dealing with the same issue I am.

13 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 01/01/2026

Hello, I am writing to report that my 2017 vehicle is experiencing the same issue that was subject to a recall on the 2016 models. Despite the recall being associated with the 2016 year, my 2017 vehicle is showing identical symptoms and concerns. This raises serious questions about safety, reliability, and whether this issue extends beyond the originally recalled model year. I would like this concern formally documented and request a review of my vehicle to determine whether it qualifies for repair, inspection, or coverage related to the prior recall. Please advise on the next steps and whether this issue has been reported or addressed for 2017 models. Vehicle details: year: 2017 I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your response. Sincerely, [xxx] if I get killed me or my [xxx] son, you all will be responsible. You made these faulty vehicles. [xxx] I'm have to get a lawyer involved if issues are not addressed. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

14 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 12/01/2025

Vehicle experiences dangerous throttle delay from a stop. When making left-hand turns across traffic, pressing the accelerator results in no response for 1–2 seconds. Vehicle hesitates while exposed in intersection, creating risk of collision. Issue has been present since low mileage and not resolved by recall repairs.

15 Other Fuel System problem of the 2025 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 11/23/2025

When the car comes to a stop, the engine will shut down after idling. This is by design. The problem is that the engine shuts off and does not start up again. This is very dangers when turning across traffic. I took the car in for maintenance and they said this is a known issue but there is no fix. The internet has many complaints and some people are having their starters replaced. This problem has occurred in other model years of this car. Please issue a recall and make Acura accountable for this known issue.

16 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 09/26/2025

Auto idle cuts off idling at stop light but when reengaged stalls the car completely. Must totally restart car before continuing causing back up in intersection and almost being hit. Happened several times, when I forget to turn auto idle off. New battery did not help.

17 Other Fuel System problem of the 2025 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 08/27/2025

Idle stop causing engine to shut down. This has happened three times! it’s very dangerous.

18 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 08/26/2025

When the vehicle stops and the idle auto-start/ stop engages, the vehicle will automatically go into neutral and cannot be restarted until the vehicle is turned off then back on. This has happened at both stop lights and on the highway and almost caused a very serious rear end accident.

19 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 08/08/2025

On Aug 8th at 3:32pm (81f and sunny), I stopped at a red light with the auto idle engine feature on. When I lifted my foot off the brake to drive the car, the car shifted into neutral and completely shut down and would not restart immediately. I attempted approximately 8 times to restart the car for 3 minutes before it successfully restarted. This poses a significant safety hazard for myself, my children, and others on the road. This is the 6th time this has happened and I have previously filed a NHTSA report # 11533671 with the same issue. Acura has been unable to diagnose and recreate the problem and is refusing to do any further work. It has been brought into their dealership on 3 separate occasions (July 2023, September 2024, August 2025). Prior to this occurring, there were no warning symbols, the car started fine without issue, and the battery has been checked and confirmed in working order.

20 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 08/02/2025

“fuel door stuck,” “no manual override,” “can’t refuel. ” as per Acura manual there is way to open a gas/fuel door/cap/lid when actual way of opening through electronically fails due actuators or some other reasons. There is a manual release pull cable behind a removable access panel in the driver’s side of the cargo area trim, near or behind the wheel well lining. Manual fuel door release is inside the trunk (cargo area) in case the electronic fuel door release fails.

21 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 07/20/2025

While driving on the highway this vehicle shifted into neutral and lost power. Once pulled to the side of the road, the vehicle was able to be turned off and re started. This happened to my teenage daughter without warning.

22 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 06/10/2025

I am writing to formally express my concern regarding a recurring issue with the auto start/stop feature in my 2020 Acura Mdx. This feature, which is intended to improve fuel efficiency, has instead caused unexpected and unsafe engine shutoffs while the vehicle is in operation. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has failed to restart promptly after the engine shuts off at a stoplight or in traffic, creating a serious safety hazard. The delay or failure to restart can leave the car temporarily disabled in active traffic, placing both myself and other drivers at risk.

23 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 05/24/2025

While driving at freeway speeds (70–85 mph), I experience a sudden and complete loss of acceleration when pressing the gas pedal fully. The vehicle stops responding to throttle input entirely for 1–2 seconds. To regain power, I must take my foot off the pedal for a moment and then press it again. This has happened multiple times and presents a severe safety hazard when merging, passing, or trying to avoid collisions. •frequency & reproducibility: this has occurred at least 3 times over the past year, under similar conditions. It is intermittent, but consistently happens during high-speed acceleration. •dealership response: I’ve reported the issue to the dealership, but they claim they cannot replicate the problem and do not consider it a concern. No resolution or inspection has been offered beyond a basic check. •why it’s dangerous: this issue could lead to a deadly accident if I’m unable to accelerate in time to avoid a crash. It creates a sudden and unexpected loss of control at highway speeds.

24 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 05/23/2025

My car has been going into neutral when in the autostop. The only way to get out of it is to turn it off and back on. It's incredibly dangerous. I almost got into a horrible accident. It happens suddenly and without warning.

25 Other Fuel System problem of the 2024 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

Vehicle will suddenly shut the engine off and shift into park, even when the auto engine shut off is not active. Typically happens when stopped at a stop light. You will feel the engine shut off, and the car shift into park. It is very scary and unsafe. It has also caused the vehicle to shut off and shift into neutral while it was moving, and the vehicle gave a transmission warning. It sounds very similar to NHTSA recall 25v-031, however, my vehicle was not included in the recall as it is not a type s. I took it to the dealership and they said that Acura has opened an investigation due to the number of complaints, but there is no solution yet. I have not other option but to dry the vehicle, but I am worried that it is unsafe and not good for the vehicle to keep stalling the way it is.

26 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 03/02/2025

My vehicle is showing the exact same symptoms that the 2016-2018 Mdx fuel pump recall is stating but my VIN number is not part of the vehicles being recalled. I reached out to Acura relations and unfortunately, they cannot provide authorization to repair my fuel pump even though my vehicle falls under the same years that this model is being recalled for. I went to an independent shop to try and understand what the problem with my vehicle is and I was told that the high pressure fuel pump seems to be failing and was asked why I have not taken the vehicle to the dealership for the fuel pump recall. Due to this issue I am unable to properly use my vehicle. If I step on the accelerator too hard, the vehicle gets engine misfires and immediately goes on limp mode.

27 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 01/28/2025

Car loosing power.

28 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 01/18/2025

“emissions system problem” warning light has lit up on dashboard twice. This was checked and found to be a faulty code both times however, the second time it occurred, it correlated with the sway bars needing to be replaced.

29 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 12/10/2024

There is a recall on my 2020 Acura Mdx and I have been going to the local Acura dealer to get the part for the last 6 months and every time I go they tell me they are still waiting for the part. Periodically, the vehicle lurches while I am driving causing a major back and forth tugging and jerking. This is very unsafe. I am demanding that Acura prioritizes my need to get this fixed. I do not know if the jerking of the vehicle is due to the recall, but regardless, Acura needs to do the right thing and send the part to the Acura dealership so I can get this fixed. No Acura dealer in my area says they have the part. I am on a "waiting list. " my car last did this jerking motion on 12.

30 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 12/07/2024

Upon startup the following warning lights come on and remain active: brake system problem, power steering problem, hill start assist problem, vehicle stability assist (vsa) problem, anti-lock break system problem. Additionally, intermittingly a loud grinding noise can be heard from the button of the vehicle.

31 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 12/04/2024

From a standstill, car often does not accelerate right away when accelerator depressed (even floored). Often times there is a significant lag between depressing the accelerator and actual propulsion, as if fuel not being injected (then car peels out from sudden injection). Last year I did internet research to find that my model year is part of a range of Acuras that share this problem. Today I received a recall notification for this very problem on an app. When I entered my VIN on the NHTSA website it said my car VIN was not part of the recall, but it is the exact problem described in the recall and my car is part of the described range of models in the specified date range.

32 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 12/01/2024

While accelerating, the vehicle to decelerated rapidly, the gas pedal became unresponsive when pushed down. Numerous warning lights started additionally, the vehicle shifted into neutral while the vehicle was being driven and would not shift out even after stopped. I was on a very busy 6 lane highway going 80 mph in thanksgiving traffic, my wife, 1 year old and 3 year old were in the vehicle. This appears to be a known issue from Honda, please see [xxx], et al. V. American Honda motor company inc. , et al. , case no. [xxx], information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

33 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 11/26/2024

The car is stalling on the highway. That very scary situation the dealer said they don’t have the parts to fix it. Also they said till the check light doesn’t come on they can’t fix it. I don’t know what to do.

34 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 11/20/2024

We received these recalls more than a year ago and after we called the Acura dealership they told us that there were not enough parts to fix the cars now and that they would give us a call when they had the parts, after two months we called them again and same statement, and same thing for 3 more times with the span of six months. Today after more than a year I called again and they are saying no part is available! since I am worried about safety I don't drive my car out of the city but it seems that Acura has no plan to address these recalls.

35 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 10/18/2024

There are two open recalls, and I have tried reaching out local dealer as well as Honda email, to get these repaired. However, I have been told that fix is not available. It has a year plus and I worry driving car with these issues ignored by Honda. Thanks.
