The car periodically loses power while driving. In traffic this has caused some very scary and hazardous incidents while vehicles zoom around us or as we attempt to make it to the shoulder of the road. We do not get warning lights when it happens. The dealer (cincinnati columbia accura) has confirmed the fuel pump safety recall but has done nothing to fix it.

I was driving down the highway today at 70 mph and all the lights illuminated on my Mdx. It began to struggle to keep speed and eventually shut down once I was on the service road. I was extremely scared and nervous that I was going to be involved in an accident or the car was going to blow up as it started bouncing up and down while I was still on the highway.

We have a 2016 Acura Mdx and it has automatically shifted to neutral 3 times (twice while driving on the freeway and 1x yesterday while driving on the street at normal speeds) in the last 2 months. On the Mdx dashboard, it will display "emissions system problem" and then display "stop driving when safe. Transmission problem. See manual. " however, the car will automatically shift to neutral within seconds. My children's lives (7 y/o and 5 y/o) were placed in danger as a result of this system failure. I have contacted the Acura Honda recall specialists and client relations representatives. The car is being diagnosed at cerritos Acura dealership at the present time. A case number has been filed since our VIN shows no recall, despite it having recalls for other 2016 Acura Mdxs.

My 2017 Acura Mdx died on me 3 times in the middle of the street last year 2024, July. All the warning lights got turned on the dashboard all 3 times. Car staled and could not turn it on right away. I managed to turn it on and after few seconds turned its self off. It felt like fuel injectors were not working properly or fuel pump. I tried few more other times and got turned on and drove it home. Next day all the warning light went away. Day after, I drove it to grocery store and on stop light same thing happened. I decided to take it to Acura dealership, on the way there all the warning lights turned off by it self. They could not find that anything is wrong with it.

Upon turning right, the car lost power, degraded acceleration as if someone is holding and pulling the car to move forward. The traffic behind me expected me to cathup with the speed on the road but due to loss of power and engine hesitation I got honked and was luck to avoid a crash from behind on a busy road. Acura dealership in dallas dont have parts since a very long time. They have pleant of new cars to sell but not repair.

Two recalls outstanding from November 2023. Parts not available to fix the problems until April 2025.
I received a letter from Acura in January 2024 regarding the engine crankshaft recall. I have called the two closest Acura dealerships in an attempt to get this fixed. The last that I was informed today by a dealership is "the part is expected to arrive in August, and we are booked out until December". This put me at getting this repair fixed at one year after Acura sent me this letter admitting the crankshaft issue. My vehicle has stalled sporadically while driving for the entire two years that I have owned it. The letter from Acura states that this recall can cause the "rod bearing to prematurely wear and seize, causing engine damage which may cause the engine to run improperly or stall while driving, increasing the risk of fire, crash, or injury. I would like Acura to fix my car or put me and my family in a safe alternative.
Acura mailed me details about NHTSA recall 23v-858 in February 2024. However, the letter stated that parts won't be available until over half a year later in the fall of 2024. While I understand that it takes time to develop and produce parts, a half a year wait seems like an unusually long time to have to wait while my vehicle is considered unsafe by NHTSA. This makes it seem like Acura is prioritizing producing parts for profit over safety.
See attachment for detailed explanation.
Mil is displaying the following dtcs: p0441 p04f1 Acura dealership is stating TSB - 21-081 does not apply to my year, make, model vehicle. Is the information I am receiving accurate?.
I have a recall on my 2019 Acura Mdx for a faulty fuel pump. I have called 2 different dealers in my area, the first said they wouldn't have the parts to fix the car until December 2024 at the earliest, the second just stated that they don't have the parts. It seems to me this is quite a bit of time to be driving with a suspected faulty fuel pump. It is April 30,2024.
I have three recalls on my vehicle. I am trying to get them serviced and the Acura dealership is stating that they do not know when they can service the fuel pump because they haven't created/issued any parts. They will not let me book to service/fix the connector rod bearing before August. I am concerned with the safety of my vehicle due to these recalls and not being able to get them fixed ASAP.
Acura Mdx 2016 sh-awd with 113366 miles diagnosis according to warning lights. Dtc test certification codes: p0301 misfire no. 1 cylinder p0306 misfire no. 6 cylinder p0300 random misfire p0420 catalyst system efficiency below threshold b1 recommendation was that the catalytic converter be replaced. All these codes were identified under Honda's TSB 20-100 dated 2/2021 on odyssey, pilot and ridgeline models where ah extended warranty to 10 years from date of purchase or 150k. These v6 engines are pretty close to that of the 2016 Mdx. Is there a remote possibility that these dtc codes could exist in Mdx v6 engines when an issue arises similar to those in the Honda vehicles? these dtc codes appeared 24 hours/37 miles after a routine oil service on 3/26/2024 at advantage Acura of naperville with a perfect inspection report. The malfunction occurred in the vicinity of mcgrath Acura of westmont on the following day of 3/27/2024. The concern is if any of the emission system components were damaged during the routine oil service. Advantage Acura have in the past installed brake pads backwards on my Acura tl 2010 for which I do have proof.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? - periodically after auto start stop system activates (vehichle shuts down after stop). When the brake pedal is released and vehicle attempts to restart the engine stalls and is shifted into neutral. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - unk has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? - no, this is an intermittent issue, this has occurred a few times (6). Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? - no, email sent to service department. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? - parking light, brake system light, oil pressure light, battery light.
Nhtsa recall number 23v-858. Honda/Acura still have not fix my car supposedly due to they are short on the fuel pump part.
The dealership is refusing to fix the issue citing that the parts will not be available until fall of 2024. My vehicle is unsafe to drive.
While driving the vehicle at highway speeds the accelerator pedal became unresponsive. Additional force on the pedal pushed it to the floor with no response from the engine. After letting off the pedal while trying to pull the vehicle over to a safe location along the road, a press on the pedal from fully released, caused the engine to rev up and propel the vehicle again. This has happened 3 times but is very random, and not easily reproducible. It is a very unsafe condition when it does happen as the vehicle loses speed, and the driver no longer has speed control!.
On February 7 at 2:30 I came home, and my car was unable to turn off. I’ll try several times to turn off the car by pressing the on and off button. While driving back to work, the car change gear from being in drive, and it went into neutral while I was driving. I was able to pull over and I was able to turn off the car by pressing the button. The entire dashboard lights came on with all the different symbols . I was able to exit the carr. I told my car to a local repair shop. This was a very frightening experience, especially when I was driving, and the car went into neutral it could’ve been worse.
Received recall notice Feb 2024 tried 3 times to get fixed no fuel pump available yet this is a safety recall issue and should be fixed immediately please help expediate this urgent issue.
Received a recall notice Feb 2024. It is now 9 months later and manufacturer has said they have no eta when parts will be available after multiple calls. They are vague with the issues. Told if I think I have the issue, I can bring my car in for diagnosis. If they don't find the problem I have to continue to wait and they will charge a diagnostics fee for troubleshooting. I am concerned I have an unreliable vehicle that could fail at any time. I think 9 months is more than reasonable to have a recall fixed and replacement parts manufactured.
While driving on the highway, at highway speeds, all dash lights came on and the vehicle immediately lost power coming to an abrupt stop. We were able to limp the car to the side of the road. It was ultimately determined that the car’s fuel pump had gone out. The fuel pump was replaced by Acura, and covered under the initial manufactures warranty. However, it’s rather suspicious that our car is not included in the recall given that the fuel pump failure is identical to the open recall for our same make and model.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? - immobiliser system. Yes, available. May be repaired by local mechanic unless I learn from you to defer such repair. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - the inappropriate activation of the immobilizer system (at least I think that's what happened) caused the vehicle immediately to become unnamageable. All lights off, motor stopped, no power brakes pr power steering. No way to give warning to other drivers. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? - the identical behavior has occurred about 6 times, once on busy us 101 through downtown oakland, CA during rush hour. The car will be towed to a mechanic's shop later today. I have no history with this mechanic's shop. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? - no. It is my inference that the immobilizer system activated while at speed due to description in the owner's manual of the appropriate behavior of the immobilizer. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? - no. The first appearance of the "green key" light preceded the entire shutdown by only a few seconds.

While driving the car started to loose momentum and began stuttering until finally stopping abruptly and applying the electronic braking system. All warning alarms were illuminated on the dash. I was not even able to pull over completely off the road either putting me and my family in danger from not being off the road. Acura dealership service center informed me it was a bad high pressure fuel pump located on the engine block itself. There are recalls for this exact part neginnibg from 2018 on the Acura Mdx model. My model is a 2017 making me wonder if the recall should include earlier year models of Acura Mdx.
Dealer refuse to fix the recall on vehicle because car from canada ?? has full warranty on car . Product update : vehicle may not restart after auto idie stop . Service department said had to talk to district manager .

After starting the engine, when attempting to slowly accelerate, the engine almost dies or hesitates to respond to accelerator. Dangerous situation.
The engien keep stalling, prolem accelerating jurky transmisión and this is the only car I have to go work I take the highway everyday I am cosern that something can happend to me.
We have two stop sale safety recalls on our 2018 Acura Mdx that have gone over a year without being addressed. I have contacted Acura and the dealership multiple times. Acura refers me to the dealer and the dealer refers me to Acura. Apparently there is no accountability for important safety recalls. Would appreciate some help from NHTSA.
I put premium gas all the time but the vehicle seems to consume excess amount of fuel. Not sure if the computer is has issues with the readings or fuel pump has an issues.
My wife went to the grocery store and turned the car off. And upon doing so the car started smoking and she opened the hood and it was on fire. She opened the hood and put out the fire.

While preparing to enter the expressway my 2018 Mdx stalled and various dashboard lights came on. My family and I drifted into the median while nearly being hit by passing car. It took about 10 minutes before the Mdx became operational again. I took it to a local mechanic when we arrived at our destination. They couldn't locate any issues or "bad codes. " since that incident my fuel mileage and shifting has begun to deteriorate. Entering traffic and trying to pass cars has become difficult while driving. I have called Acura and a local dealership in charlotte, nc. Both failed to provide next steps that didn't involve spending money to fix an issue that based on feedback on various sites and ntsb site is a common issue.
Car has two unrepaired recalls. ( please refer to your site)fuel pump is never available, needs to be ordered. Recall related to engine bearings, crankshaft and other essential parts has not been repaired to any Mdx in puerto rico. A year and a half after notifying recall the dealer informs that Acura is developing a tool to diagnose damage. No date to repair situation is available. Permanent damage to engine can be in progress while original warranty expired during waiting period and private extended warranty will soon expire. Possible solution may involve engine replacement, separating engine from transmission, gaskets, seals and other related parts not included in the recall. Both recalls are a safety concern. Your assistance is appreciated. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I have been trying to get the two recalls fixed for several months with the dealership telling me they don't have the parts and they would contact me when they get the parts in. No one contacts me, I call to find out if they have received parts. Recall, 23v-858 and 23v-751.
Rod bearin system and fuel pump recall expansion system.
Sometimes when we step on the gas petal, the car does not move, and when we press harder on the gas petal, the car suddenly takes off very fast. We have almost been hit by other cars many times because the car does not move when we press the gas petal.
This vehicle has an “integrated” gas cap where the fuel filler door acts as the gas cap. I can’t believe Honda engineering did any testing with this system since about 75% of the time when I fuel the vehicle, the nozzle gets stuck in the filler neck & the neck usually comes off the vehicle entirely when attempting to remove the fuel nozzle. This problem has been well documented on Honda/Acura forums for some time and I cannot believe Honda has not issued a recall as this represents a significant safety risk, not to mention potential emissions issues.
