While driving I have no headlights. Had bulbs replaced but still doesn’t work. Can’t drive at night since purchased. Have only high beams but very low. While driving almost got in accident. Complaints are numerous on social media for 2014 Acura Rdx. No one does anything to fix problems. Acura dealer charged 129. 00 for headlights still not working and said no recall. This is extremely dangerous. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Recall on many 201-2015 Rdx because the headlights became dangerously dim and needed to be replaced. Same thing happened to mine, had it checked by the dealer today who confirmed. However, there is not a recall on mine but I assume many others are affected.

Lowbeam headlights: I have noticed myself and others have told me my Rdx headlights do not light your driving as much as other cars. I been told this for couple year but I rarely drive at dark these days. On Monday oct 2 I was driving home in naples florida at 8p and realized I could hardly see the road if there wasn't street lights aiding my view. Then on one stretch of road where there are not street lights and no other cars driving beside, I realized I cannot see the road at all unless I drive with my high beams on . So I drove home on high beams the entire distance and made it safely. I'm not sure of whether other cars could see me or not at night, so I know that this is a safety issue. After researching this problem online I quickly found conversations regarding how common this problem is on the Rdx around 100k miles. Well, now it seems I'm hearing and reading this everywhere the more I research. I called the dealer service and they want about $1500 to replace my 2 entire headlight kits. This is ridiculous price gouging when I don't have that kind of money and I have to drive unsafely or with high beams on at night which could result in a traffic ticket for doing so. I definitely believe my low beams are unsafe to drive at night and that they got worse overtime, not just overnight.
Headlights are very dim. At night, it is very hard to see the road unless I put the high beamers on. I've inquired about this with the dealership and shared my concerned on how this is a safety issue and front lights arent bright enough. The response "we are aware, it is common in that year and model but nothing we can do. " then proceeded to state it would cost $2k to replace. This clearly is a manufacturing issue with Acura and should have been addressed during quality control or something. At this point, I dont feel comfortable driving my car in the evening and it is unfair. It is a risk and safety concern for me, as the driver, and others on the road. If Acura is aware, why arent they fixing the issue? definitely not a consumer problem.

The headlights are so dim night driving is impossible. New bulbs and lens cleaning had no effect. There are hundreds if not thousands of complaints online about the projector headlamps growing dangerously dim on Acura's in this model year range. The car is not safe to drive at night and poses an imminent threat to public safety.
Starting around 100,000 miles I noticed the low beams were too dim. I replaced the bulbs twice which had no effect. I didn't have the money for new headlight assemblies so I tried to limit my driving to daytime, otherwise I had to use my high beams to see safely. Now my vehicle has 135,000 miles and the lights got worse to the point that it was a significant danger to drive at night and I narrowly avoided an accident. I searched online to see if anyone else was having this issue and the internet is full of Acura owners with complaints about this very thing. Acura knows about this and actually recalled the 2014 Rdx because of it, but not the 2015. I appealed to Acura to ask them to pay for the replacement of the headlight assembly and they said no, citing 1) too many miles on the car (headlights are not a part that should be susceptible to wear and tear . . . . . I had a Toyota with 300,000 miles that never needed a headlight assembly replaced. This answer holds no merit 2) I didn't have my car serviced by Acura dealership. I have maintained my vehicle to perfection through my own mechanic and would never pay the ridiculous exorbitant fees the dealers charge. Just because I didn't have my car serviced with the dealer doesn't mean I didn't take care of my car. 3) they don't recognize this as a safety concern. I'm incredibly disappointed at Acuras response to this. This is my first Acura and will certainly be my last. They have a known safety issue and they turn a blind eye to it. Would they only take action when someone is killed in an accident? Acura needs to be responsible and recall this make and model. And then they need to go back to school to learn how to make headlight assemblies because other car manufacturers seem to have figured it out. Maybe they should consult with Toyota.
Please refer to previous Acura headlight recalls, 14v323000 & 15v301000. I have the exact same problem with my 2015 Acura Rdx. Night time driving is dangerous. Since headlight low beam output is so low, have to drive around with high beams on. I have read a lot of the same complaints on Acura forums. Acura dealer offers to replace them but they can't. Headlights are on national backorder. That tells me it is a much bigger problem then they will admit. Please investigate this safety issue.
Unable to see with high or low beams at night. People flash their high beams at me meanwhile I can't see the road. I have 2 young children and I'm terrified driving at night replacing the bulbs doesn't work. Only thing I can find online says to replace the entire headlight because the reflective properties that headlights have wear down to nothing and eventually don't have the ability to reflect light and illuminate the roadway. That was my understanding of the issue. It's obvious that this is a safety hazard and should be a recall on the vehicle! how many people have to complain before this hazard is taken more seriously? does someone have to die in a car accident? this seems like a bit much and a lot of people being ignored! I bought this car around the middle of February and there hasn't been one night I've been able to see you while driving. If I went to the dealership at night to purchase the vehicle and had seen how horribly bad the lights were I would have never purchased it! Acura dealers really need to make this right and not wait for someone or someone else to be serverly injured to do something about a serious hazardous issue in their vehicles!.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Acura Rdx. The contact stated that the headlights failed to operate correctly and became very dim reducing visibility of the roadway while driving. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to flow Acura (4952 new centre dr, wilmington, nc 28403, (910) 218-7070) where the technician inspected the headlights and cleaned the headlamp bulbs. The visibility was minimally improved. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Acura Rdx. The contact stated that while driving at night, the low-beam headlights were dim. The contact had to utilize the high-beam headlights while driving. The contact called the local dealer but, vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the reflectors inside the headlight housings were defective and that the headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. The contact stated he was concerned about driving the vehicle. The contact researched the failure and located several forums with similar complaints. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
The headlight low beams are not bright enough. Night time driving on the road without street lights, the visibility can only reach about one vehicle ahead. For instance, we were driving 60miles/hour on I-94 without any street lights nor lane mark reflectors, we were unable to see 50ft in front of us. This creates a very dangerous situation. Photo were unable to provide since we were just trying to stay alive driving in the dark.
The low beam headlight are extremely dim offering no night time visibility without using the high beam headlights. The dealer has replaced the bulbs and adjusted the lighting and there is no improvement. The car has 80,000 miles and upon further research this is a very common problem with these 2015 Rdx vehicles. The car is not safe to drive at night. My Acura service department actually told me that these cars are known for having poor visibility. The issue is only when using the low beam headlights. This is a safety hazard and needs to e repaired by Acura.
Headlights are dull and makes it are to see at night. Changed out bulbs but did not fix the problem. Contacted dealership and was told it is a known defect like issue with the reflectors/mirrors within the headlight and was told the whole headlight needs to be replaced. Over $2,000 but dealership would give a discount. If Acura is aware that the lights are so dem at night that drivers can not see clearly, this is a safety issue they should take care of. This is ongoing problem since ive owned the vehicle and has gotten worse through the years.
I started to go to work earlier in the morning while it's still dark. My lights don't seem to be working. I had the bulbs replaced a couple of days ago and it still not much of a difference. I pray every time I'm driving at night because I can't see a thing and don't want to get in an accident. I took it to the dealer and they recommended I change the headlights which will cost over $2,000. I am so frustrated with this and I don't know what else to do.
The contact owns a 2015 Acura Rdx. The contact stated while driving various speeds, the low-beam headlights were significantly dim. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had worsened, causing her to drive with the high-beam headlights activated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlights needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that she had to pay out-of-pocket for the repair because the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
I have put three sets of headlights over the last 3 years in my vehicle to no avail. It is so dark when I drive now I can only drive while using high beams. I am told by the dealer the reflector has malfunctioned and I must replace the headlights reflectors. The dealer even replaced my headlights 9 months ago and never mentioned the issues.
It is a commonly known (with consumers) problem, that manufacturers choose to ignore. I have a 2013 Acura Rdx, that I bought new in December 2012. The vehicle has never been in any type of accident. The vehicle has always been maintained by myself, or an Acura/Honda dealership. My problem are the headlights. I can not see much with them anymore. I have never put any aftermarket led type or other bulbs, nor have they ever been altered in any way. I replaced the bulbs (with oem style) thinking it was the bulbs themselves, with the same results. In any inclement weather, especially rain, or with oncoming traffic, I see less. I understand oncoming traffic will lessen what a driver sees, but this is beyond normal. The lenses on my vehicle are also clear (not yellow from years of sunlight exposure). The vehicle is always garage-kept, when at home. From my research, the headlight reflectors inside the housing, deteriorate. This causes very little light to reflect in the right direction. If this is considered "wear and tear", I would fix this issue myself. But to me, I feel that this a terrible design, that Acura should fix. My inability to see while driving, is a hazard. I continue to maintain my vehicle as required. I have a different vehicle that was bought new, in 2003 and now has 230k miles, no problems. I maintain my vehicles well! I don't feel that I should have to pay several thousands to have the headlights fixed on my Acura, or to trade the Acura in, as a reason to get rid of a known issue. I have invested in the Acura, to keep it running at its best. When I bought the Acura, my plan was to keep it for 15 years or more, if possible. I am doing my part, as much as I can. I reached out to Acura, with no help. My only hope, is that this issue is investigated, and for Acura to help me with this safety design flaw. Thank you in advance gabriel colo.
Low beam headlights do not emit enough light to safely operate the vehicle at night. The high beam is necessary to see the road, road signs or any objects in the roadway.
The low beam headlights on this car are dangerously dim. I replaced the halogen bulbs twice and even did a third replacement using led bulbs. Nothing helps. I see many, many similar complaints here. This will cause an accident if something isn't done. It's clearly a problem with the vehicle. Acura has already recalled similar models. The need to do a recall on the 2015 Rdx too!.
The reflective coating on the headlight housing has disintegrated resulting in virtually no low-beam headlight illumination on the roadway, this defect has been gradual but the end result is an extremely unsafe driving condition. To drive with this condition requires the high-beam to be used, which is impractical in most driving situations. We have spent over $1600 to have new lamp housings installed; Acura/Honda refuses to admit the problem is a safety issue, but there are many many complaints logged in on-line car chat sites. This car should have been recalled and this very serious safety issue rectified. I have the failed housing s if they want to be examined.
The headlights are not sufficiently bright to light up the road or road signs. The dealer is familiar with the problem but doesn't have a solution to offer. The light covers are clear with no fogging.
Both driver and passenger low beam headlights illumination has decreased significantly to the point it is unsafe to drive at night. It does not provide proper lighting to illuminate road, road signs or other vehicles. The illumination does not change if vehicle is stationary or while driving. Veh. Has 125k miles and it appears its is a common problem with Acuras of this year and model. Bulb change does nothing.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the headlights needed to be adjusted. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Acura Rdx. The contact stated that while driving at night, the low-beam headlamps failed to illuminate. The contact replaced the bulbs. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and diagnosed. The contact was informed that the headlamps needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
My 2015 Rdx headlights are so dim that driving it at night is a major safety hazard. I have replace my bulbs 3 times and even upgraded them to led's and the problem dtill exist. I took it to my local Acura dealership and they replaced the bulbs and suggested I needed a new housing. They installed the new housing and it still isn't any better. I've spent over $1000 trying to remedy the issue. The dealership wants $2200 to replace the headlamp assemblies. When I purchased this vehicle I thought I was purchasing a luxury vehicle and not something that such a major issue in workmanship would go unnoticed and unspoken for by the company. I worry about the safety of me and my son due to the poor visibility that I am looking to trade this car as it is unsafe to operate after dark.
Both headlights are too dim to safely drive at night. I was pulled over by a state trooper for not having my lights on when they were actually on. Acura has a recall for this issue on the 2014 ilx. The 2013 Rdx should also be included in this recall.
My wife and I purchased our Rdx in 2014 and have enjoyed all aspects of the car except for the headlights. Ever since we have owned the car the headlights have been dim. My wife has not driven the car very much at night in the last couple of years but recently we have had to drive it at night and the headlights have gotten much worse. We just took it in for a quote and we need to replace them and it will cost in excess of $2700! I called Acura to complain and funny as it may sound but the woman that I spoke to said that headlights not working is not a safety issue and the headlights will not be recalled. I asked if I drive at night and crash because I cannot see if that was a safety issue and she still said it wasn't. I am perplexed that when someone comes out with a faulty product that the company will do everything in their power to save money even if it is at the expense of the individual that supports that company. It is hondas responsibility to take care of the issue but obviously they don't care. Basically at this point if I were to drive without the lights on I don't think that there would be much of a difference.
Low beam head lights are not effective, passes inspection but not adequate even with upgraded light bulbs. Passenger while sitting in passenger seat asked if lights were on during nighttime errand run. Unable to drive much at night and if it is raining or foggy at night then unable to use. Currently exploring using led light upgrade. Concerned lense may be discolored as well. Another Rdx owner told me they had to replace whole headlight assemblies due to damaged caused by oem light bulb.
I own a 2014 Acura Rdx and my headlights are extremely dim, making it hard to drive at night. The lights have been replaced and that didn't help. It has a newer battery and no alternator issues. I have seen online that customers are experiencing the same problem and that my car is not recalled for this issue. Other Acura vehicles have been recalled for the same thing. I have contacted Acura client services and they basically said my warranty is expired. This is dangerous and could cause me to have an accident. It seems like Acura doesn't want to take responsibility for this issue.
Condensation forms inside the headlights causing the lights not to work.
