Suspension Noise Problems of Acura RDX

There is a horrible clunking noise coming from front when driving or turning (possible passenger side). It doesn't matter what your speed is. It sounds like it may be the suspension or struts and it's so bad that it sounds like my front end is falling apart. With only 2400 miles it has gotten worse and worse. Dropped it off at the dealers this morning and service tech drove it around building to come back and say how bad it sounded. He says he hasn't ever heard this noise. Also, the rear, when breaking and accelerating has a popping noise during take off and stopping. Both noises are getting much worse to the point my husband said that I could not drive it out of concern for safety until this issue is fixed. Seems crazy that you would already experience issues like this in a brand new $50k car.

While the vehicle is in motion the suspension / front dampers are making clunking and popping noises every time you go over a bumps, potholes or turn on unleveled road. The suspension parts were replaced by the dealership and the noise has gotten more prominent.

On October 30, 2020 I leased a 2020 Acura Rdx (awd tech) from springfield Acura, 243 route 22 e, springfield, NJ 07081. On November 11, 2019, I bought the car back to springfield Acura. I was hearing a scraping, crunching noise from under the front of the car when going over bumps. The technician diagnosed and discovered the noise was coming from the front suspension and made necessary repairs (a copy of service report is attached). A few days later the noise returned and again I bought the car to springfield Acura on January 6, 2020. According to the service report (a copy of which is attached): . . . �there is no fix for the current issue . . . �. As of this date, the car still is making the same scraping, crunching noise. I purposely leased a new vehicle in order to avoid spending time and money on repairs. This vehicle is brand new and has been served twice and still not fixed. Taking time to bring the car back to the dealership has caused undue hardship the car I leased from springfield Acura has a known defect and was not disclosed to me at the time of my lease of the vehicle. Springfield Acura should be obligated to replace my current vehicle with another new 2020 Acura Rdx (awd tech) after it has been deemed that the same problem does not exist.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Acura Rdx. While driving at unknown speeds on uneven pavement, there was an abnormal clucking noise emerging from the rear of the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Acura of limerick (77 autopark blvd, limerick, PA 19468, (610) 495-5888) where it was diagnosed that the rear suspension shocks needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 09313264. The manufacturer stated that they would split the cost of the repairs. The failure mileage was 36,000. The VIN was not available.

Acura has a rear suspension issue with many of their SUV's but is trying to avoid issuing a recall because they're too cheap to do the right thing. The rear shocks have a defect which results in a clunking noise in the rear of the car. Acura has acknowledged the problem but won't get off their rear ends and fix the issue. My car has been sitting at Acura in denver colorado for over three months and their hands are tied because Acura doesn't seem motivated to fix the problem promptly. There are thousands of these cars waiting for replacements all over the USA and others Acura owners that don't even know this situation is going on because they are being misled and Acura is intentionally trying to keep this under wraps.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Acura Rdx. The contact noticed an abnormal clunking noise in the rear suspension. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to walser Acura of wichita (10850 e 13th st n, wichita, kansas 67206, 316-341-2288) where it was diagnosed that the rear shocks needed to be replaced. The contact stated that another technician stated that the rear and upper dampers needed to be installed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 55,000.
