Summary Honda is recalling 273. 000 my 2004-2008 Acura Tl vehicles. Prolonged high under-hood temperatures may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate prematurely causing the hose to crack and leak power steering fluid. Date: 08/27/2020 my 2005 Acura Tl has a safety issue with the airbag system. The passenger dash has cracked on both sides of where the airbag is located. This issue occurred slowly over the course of about a year when the vehicle was stationary. As of a week ago, the red airbag warning light goes on and stays on (by the speedometer) when a passenger sits in the front seat. I have researched this issue and there are thousands of Acura Tl owners that have this same problem with the dash on the passenger side cracking and many have filed complaints with the NHTSA and have contacted Acura. Even though all of the other Acura Tl model years through 2014 were part of the takata airbag recall, for some reason the 3rd generation Acura Tl model years 2004 - 2008 have not been recalled due to the takata airbag issue. I have read that it may be due to Acura needing to remove the dash in order to replace the airbags, and that they don't want to incur the expense of replacing the entire dash. According to several Acura Tl owners, replacing the dash costs between $1,000 - $2,000 (for the owner) and doesn't take into account the safety issue regarding having the passenger airbag damaged due to the cracks in the dash and humidity getting in. This is a serious safety issue as the cracks could affect deployment of the passenger airbag, or cause it to deploy while driving and cause injury to the passenger or the driver. According to many posts I have seen online, this issue has been going on for over 5 years. Please investigate this safety hazard and notify Acura. Acura needs to take responsibility for this widespread safety issue.

2005 Acura Tl- parked winters, garaged, babied and all service completed at the Acura dealerships. Car has 141,000 on it and was near 50,000 when purchased (aspec package etc). Car has developed cracks in the dashboard from the windshield to the instrument panel, across the center speaker and now directly on the indentation where the airbag is located on the passenger side. Reached out to Acura for assistance ((attached)) and they said the car is too old and outside warranty to help me. Irregardless of the fact I have always taken it to Acura and one look at the cars exterior and interior *paint and leather interior* shows that this car has been spoiled. The dashboard is a known issue for this generation and even made the news from complaints. I am now concerned that the airbag will not work properly or cause harm due to the structural integrity of the dashboard being altered due to shoddy craftsmanship that is not being backed up by Acura I have also raised concern that the headlight assembly are both cracking and discolored. I have had them professionally *refurbished* but the dealership said that they need to be replaced as they too are a safety issue not allowing proper light to be illuminated on the highway due to manufacture defect- again -- car parked winters, just look at the paint and quality of the car that is 15 years old.

The transmission is lacking at any moment that happens to me in the middle of the street. No safe another car almost hit me. No safe . . . . My dash is horrible completely cracke and this definitely is going to affect the airbags in my Acura 2004 Tl. Sorry is the wors of worst . Yes I was driving going in to the gas station and car just lack I couldn't do anything after about 20 minutes. The car gets on gear again and I get in gas station.

I am the original owner of a 2005 Acura Tl with 49,650 miles on it. What started as a hair line crack on the passenger side dashboard is now a series of spider web wall of cracks all throughout the dashboard, in the past few months. As of late, the cracks have extended to the passenger side airbag area. And now the passenger side airbag light intermentinly blinks on /off both with and without a passenger occupying the seat. This is not an of wear and tear parts issue but a defective material issue by Acura. Furthermore, it is now a safety issue whether the cracked dashboard will play in the malfunctioning in the deployment of the passenger side airbag. I am in fear of getting behind the wheel of my Acura Tl now that airbag light intermittently switches on/off at random since the appearance of the cracks on the dashboard.

After owning the Acura Tl for 11 years, one day last week, I noticed 2 cracks in the dashboard on both sides of the passenger airbag. The car was parked on a city street. I am afraid that if the airbag deploys, pieces of the dashboard could fly out.

My 2004 Acura Tl dashboard on the passenger side is cracked on both sides of the airbag. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of the passenger because of the position of the cracks could possibly deploy the airbag and cause injury.

Taktata recall - have a 2005 Acura Tl that has been parked winters and inside a garage. Pampered, polished, Acura service always. Was driving down the road and noticed my dang dashboard has the crack that everyone is always talking about. I cant believe that a car of this price is having a dashboard crack. The dealership wants over 2000 to fix it. My other car is nearly 20 years old and not one blemish or crack in the dashboard and it too is a Honda product. C'mon with all the complaints and issues around the airbag do the right thing Acura and good will fix this thing or you will lose not only me but the other 4 family members I got turned onto Honda vehicles.

Cracked dash board. Three separate cracks. I'm positive this is going to effect the airbag deployment. Clearly this is a know issue. I'd suggest getting an attorney. The car has not been in any type of accident.

The dashboard in our Acura suddenly had a crack in it from front to back on one side of the passenger side airbag, then a few days later the same size of crack appeared on the other side of the passenger side airbag. This car only has a bit over 40,000 miles on it even though it is a 2005 and has always been garaged and well cared for. We are concerned because the cracks are on each side of the airbag, because they appeared so suddenly, and because this brand is part of the taketa airbag recall although this model year was not recalled. We feel this is a safety issue, especially after by sheer accident we discovered that there are many complaints about this same issue in this brand and model and year of this car. Another thing which concerns us is that this car was purchased and has always "lived" in FL. We are the original owners. The cracks appeared when the car was stationary.

The dashboard panel of my 04 Acura Tl is severely cracked. My concern is if in the event an airbag did deploy due to false sensors or even due to an accident, how much damage will this cause me? I understand that an airbag will annihilate the dash if activated and hopefully damages are minimal but that was tested with a dashboard panel that was fully intact. I'm a little concerned since I also have 98 forerunner and the dash panel is nearly emaculant. I feel there is a manufacturing defect in the plastic in these vehicles that should be recalled and fixed.

Dash is completely covered in cracks. I feel like this can't be safe with the airbags underneath the cracks. Also, whenever a passenger is in my car the airbag light comes on.

The passenger dashboard has huge cracks that extend to where the airbag is located. I have always taken good care of my car and it actually looks new but these cracks are manufacture defects. The cracks are more than 10" long.

As you can see, these aren't small hairline cracks, they are nasty a## long cracks all over. Each day the crack get worst and open. It dangerous because there is airbags under those dashboard.

I have a 2008 Acura Tl-s, it is garaged at night and I do my best to take care of it. The other day I developed two cracks running from the windshield to the glovebox, along the edges of the airbag. I didn't notice them until I got home last night, but they are quite noticeable. I have read about several other complaints o this happening to Acura's and I am wondering why and what can be done about this. Will this impact the airbag operations and maybe impact was a bad choice of words.

There is a large crack (roughly 10 in. ) on the left side of the dashboard. Below the crack is where the passenger air bag is located. Upon further research, this appears to be a common problem in Acura Tl production (2004-2007). Since the passenger air bag is located right below the crack, there is a possibility that the deployment may be compromised.

Large cracks have developed throughout the material used in the interior of the vehicle including all of the dashboard. I am concerned that this will prevent the airbag from properly deploying.

My vehicle has been garage kept since I bought it new in January 2006. In January of 2018, I discovered that the dashboard, where the passenger's airbag is located cracked. The crack outlines the shape of the airbag. I also discovered another crack directly in front of the steering wheel. The concern is that the airbag may accidentally deploy without being involved in an accident. In researching this problem, it appears that this is a very common issue with 2004 & 2006 Tls. My 2006 Acura Tl dashboard cracked after bad snow storm here. There are many cracks and the deepest is vertical alongside airbag. Acura is not standing behind their product and not correcting defective parts. The vehicle was stationary just never exposed to frigid weather. The car is not safe to drive not knowing when and if airbag will deploy.

My dash board keeps cracking over time in several places,new ones just pop upping up everywhere. This did not start until last year sometime around 100,000 mi. I talked to local dealership,Acura CO. And the manufacturer of their parts. They said they wont help me. This is not right. I barely drive anywhere. My car stays in garage and is very well taken care of. Never been owned/driven on the coast or FL,anywhere like that. I live in ms. All over the internet,on Acurazine,and youtube this is happening to 3rd gen Tl Acuras. Can u help me? the cost for a new dash is very expensive $3000. 00+. This is a faulty product on their part. There is no way they should get away with this or not make a recall. Prolonged high temperatures and/ or high humidity cause the dashboard to crack along the right side of the passenger side airbag. In a matter of days, the crack spreads all over the airbag area and dashboard. The material defect effects Acura Tls and Tl types from 2004-2008. Cracks in the dashboard can result in pieces of the dashboard being projected into the eyes and face of passengers once the passenger airbag deploys. The cracks allow moisture into the airbag module which can create the risk of a faulty airbag deployment or failing to deploy which can lead to sever injury or death. Passenger dash above airbag, is cracked. The crack began as a single perforation, coming from the windshield direction outward, directly above where the airbag is housed. One day to the next it just appeared. It began with a single crack in July 2017, now in Nov 2017, an identical crack lays adjacent to the first, approx. 6 inches apart. I use a sunshade whenever I'm not utilizing a covered parking spot. I've never left my car without a shade during any hot days (leather seats get far too hot to sit on even wearing pants, let along shorts or skirts). I've taken my vehicle into 2 different Acura dealerships, who've quoted $2,000+ to replace, with zero help from Acura since there's not an active recall. I've had to restrict all passengers to sit in my back seat, which according to my grandmother, "is disrespectful & demeaning". The perforations are looking more like the sealant used to close a hidden compartment (airbag?) has worn out, and the airbag is close to exploding. I planned to upgrade to an Acura SUV last month, but it appears I'm now forced to resell to the dealership for $2000-$3000 less than the 2 failed deals due to valid concerns. I just can't phantom how Acura refuses to recall an obvious defect in their workmanship that puts so many of their own customers lives at risk. So many complaints of the exact same problem, but the costly remedy remains my problem to pay for 1 way or another?! with the rapid rate at which these cracks are growing and threatening the integrity of what's suppose to be a safety device, I may not have a choice of how to handle this soon. I can't afford to fix it and eating it by trading it in isn't something I can afford either.

Over the last couple of months, a crack has developed on the dashboard. The crack continues to grow larger in size. The crack is running right along where the passenger side airbag is located in the dashboard. I am concerned that this is compromising the the ability of the airbag to not spontaneously deploy. I am nervous to allow anyone ride in my passenger seat. This car is garage kept - it does not sit in the sun.

My dashboard has a crack all around the location where the airbag is located . Not sure if the crack in the dash around the airbag is unsafe but I'm concerned about the airbag deploying. I notice on the internet that this has been an issue for a while and Acura is not recalling this to be repaired. I have owned several vehicle and have never had a dashboard to crack.
