I was driving down hwy 101 in oregon state in the rain. I was accelerating because I had just turned onto the highway, I got up to about 60 mph whe the car started dinging as it does when you open the door with the keys still in the ignition. The vsa light, as well as the engine, oil, abs and battery lights all started flashing on the dash and the car turned off. The steering wheel locked up and I had to throw it in neutral, turning the key back and forth from the off position to the start position to get it to unlock right before I crashed into on coming traffick! there has been nothing wrong with the car other than routine maintenance an absolutely no signs anything is wrong with the car. It has 168436 miles on it and has been religiously maintained. There is a serious problem with this vehicle for something like this to happen. I've owned hundreds of cars and never experienced anything like this happening, ever!.

I was told by a mechanic that this 2006 Acura Tl I bought from joe's garage here in clovis CA was a car I do not want to be driving. Now when purchased from joe's garage he stated he put engine didn't say new or used, he also said the car was practically brand new because previous owner was a high school kid who assume he cracked his radiator and was not the problem, but the kid bought a new car and left Acura there since. Since the purchased I had nothing, but engine problems told joe never responded I did my own research come to find out joe's business licensed was suspended and that where he got my car Acura to pass smog of course was a smog business already being investigated for passing car illegally. So I took my Acura to Acura dealer here in fresno CA I was told all motor mounts were cracked so they replaced all motor mounts and installed used motor charging me $7,000 at that time I was in the process of suing joe's garage however since I have had no car emotionally distress because I paid $2700 for Acura trusting this business man come to find out its salvaged vehicle now you can understand how frustrated I am not including the losses in my life back to back not been able to just mourn rest etc because of cruel business companies intentions. I'm not asking for much all I want is for you to give Acura dealer here in fresno CA the ok to make sure my car is or passed the safety and drivable test making sure everything on car is safe to drive at no cost to me. I have grandkids who are my world and I need to have a good reliable car for them nathan here at Acura dealer called me yesterday asking me if I had money, I said no I will file my taxes and see but I honestly feel and would appreciate your help on closing the two companies for good and release my car to me at no cost.

Intermitten problem with brakes becoming soft/spongy. I have taken my vehicle to hondaa and a few local shops no one could identify the issue but confirmed brakes rotors were good and no leakes. After searching online I found many people experiencing the same issue which seems to be a known issue Acura is aware of. . . . There seems to be a problem with the vsa modular failing which is leaking air into the brake line and causing spongy brakes. This is sooooo dangerous as it happens out of no where im driving normal and suddenly it feels like I have no brakes. The spongy brakes cause a lag in stopping and if for some reason I have to suddenly stop I would be unable to. . . This symptom last sometimes minutes, hours, and days with no reason and then brakes return to normal. Im afraid to drive my vehicle as this is dangerius and a safety issue. Acura should issue a recall as this is putting lives in danger.

My car has been automatically shutting off while driving. Bringing my car to a halt, not a full on stop but to the point my wheels lock up. Sort of like im slamming on my brake but I can't press my brake. I lose power steering, the entire car shuts off. Then I have to try and restart it, but it won't turn over. Sometimes its just for a few minutes. Other times im stranded for hours. A few times its been days. After it dies and I turn the key off and then back on but not over ill have power. I have a kid and we've been stranded on an on ramp with cars going 60 all around us. The car just randomly shut off in the middle of the road. There's a lot of traffic around these parts and we were stuck, not even being able to get out of the vehicle with the cars going on each side of us. Ive done some research and ive seen thousands of other complaints about this issue since 2002. Ive had 3 different mechanics try to figure out what the issue was. Have had my car at the shop for weeks at a time. A few times even the mechanics couldn't get it started, and it had to sit for 3 days before it would start up again. The check engine light is on and all 3 different mechanics have fixed everything thats came up. After this started happening ive had to replace brakes and rotors several times. My car started shifting way to late. And feels like its starting to slip. This is a safety hazzard. Especially in larger cities.

Power steering hose oil leaking, accelerator pedal may bind, driver frontal air bag inflator may explode, 2001-11 multi-model airbag inflator recalls , pressure monitoring and regulating systems. Transmission oil is leaking all the oil in 4 days.
My transmission ran out in freeway and it almost killed me I need a recall.
Tl the contact owned a 2009 Acura Tl. While driving out of a parking lot, the vehicle did not stop when the brake pedal was depressed. As a result, the vehicle drove over a curb and crashed into a tree. The air bag deployed and the engine revved and did not stop until help arrived. There was no warning indicator illuminated. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was damaged and towed by aaa. The vehicle was declared totaled by the insurance company. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that nothing could be done since the vehicle was totaled. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
We got an April 2019 letter for an important safety recall which came too late! my car was totaled in a accident in which both airbags deployed. It did cause hurtful pressure on my grandson's chest with an emergency bill over $500 and 2 days of losses wages. Ok for which we had no compensation. Car was in motion on highway street in which the other party was ticketed on an illegal u turn.
Takata recall.
I have a phone to a 88 Honda, 94 Honda 99 Acura each of those vehicles have had problems with the air condition. I'm in the process of searching for a new vehicle but I will never buy another Honda due to the air condition problems unless there was a guarantee that you guys will stand behind the air conditions.

Hi I'm wanting to complain about this year Acura making models breaks because in the winter time when you go to press the brakes and start the car the brakes are completely frozen. Also wanted to complain about the headlights the headlights get dull and dingy with wear in tear and get very dull causing it to be very hard to see at night as well as the body all the molding on the top of the roof is peeling off the chrome trim molding please look into this further. My car is a daily driver I drive it everyday I get it a car wash every other day but that should be no reason for the top chrome trim on the roof to start peeling off and be coming undone from your car.

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Acura Tl. The contact stated that while turning the vehicle on, the vsa warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was turned off and restarted, however, the vsa warning indicator remained illuminated followed but the illumination of the abs system warning indicator. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vsa module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 116,220. Djr.
Car will no longer function properly/ poor driving.
Vsa modulator control unit on 2006 Acura Tl is leaking air into the brake system making the pedal soft which can lead to poor braking and cause accidents. I narrowly escaped an accident a few weeks ago. Acura has known this issue for long time and has even published a technical service bulletin (07-041) but has not recalled the vehicle to replace this part. This has been an ongoing issue with a lot of Honda and Acura vehicles but there has been no enforcement. Nhtsa should look into this issue and force Honda/Acura to recall these vehicles.
I had to slam on my brakes today to avoid hitting a car. The abs kicked in like it should and I heard the clicking of it going on and off. I stopped in time but noticed when I step on my brake now, it goes about half way down before they start to engage. Ii did a search and found the following TSB 07-041. This is a safety issue! Honda is recalled the odyssey vehicles for the same issue. It is a known issue in 2004 through 2006 Acura Tl and no action is being taken. This is the second instance at 64000 miles. The first instance was at 25,792 miles (03/10/08) and Acura replaced the vsa modulator. Various online blogs report others having the same issue.
Abs kicked in when braking on an icy downhill. This is the first time abs has ever engaged on this car. After releasing the brake pedal, brakes became extremely soft and travel much farther towards to the floor before brakes engage. Pumping them does not return brakes to normal operation. Research uncovered a technical service bulletin (TSB) with Honda/Acura aware of this problem. Acura service bulletin 07041. It appears this should be a recall given the danger this poses (loss of braking power). Recommendation is to replace $900+ vsa modulator. Ridiculous.
I've now experienced three incidents with my vehicle's braking performance in very cold temperatures (-10-0 degrees f). When starting the vehicle the brake pedal is extremely hard and the stopping performance is greatly reduced. Upon pumping the brakes for a while the pedal will suddenly soften and braking performance is completely restored. I've now experienced this same issue on the highway after driving the vehicle for 10-15 minutes and exiting onto an off-ramp. While traveling at highway speeds and attempting to slow on the ramp again the pedal is extremely hard and stopping power is greatly reduced causing me to pump the brakes until the pedal suddenly softens and braking is again restored.

On every cold morning about 40 degrees or colder. When starting the car the brake pedal is rock solid then turns to normal. Took to dealership in spring and they changed out the brake fluid. No problem until the next fall when temps hit 40s at night. A few times there have been a very brief grinding sound while the pedal softened.
Several time my right brakes have completely locked up for a few seconds with no warning. This cause car to veer off to the right nearly causing an accident. This has happened multiple times and can be recreated.
I was trying to make a stop at an intersection and there was a car in front of me. I slowed down and when I attempted to make the stop and placed my foot on the brake the car began to accelerate. At this time, I hit the back of a vehicle which was stopped in front of me and did very little damage as I was traveling only at 12 mph. There was more damage done to my vehicle than to the other party because he was driving an SUV which sat up high and it damage my hood and pushed the front of my vehicle in and broke the vent and radiator.
2005 Acura Tl. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle brake malfunction. The consumer stated his wife to the vehicle to the dealer, to determine why it would suddenly brake on its own and loose power while driving in city traffic. The vehicle shuddered, braked harshly and the throttle response was nearly non-existent. The technicians at the dealer, ran a diagnostic test on the vehicle and decided to replace a brake switch. While returning from the dealer, the vsa light once again activated in the same manner as before. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, where they drove it for a while, but they were not able to duplicate the problem.
I was driving down the highway at ~60+ mph in traffic and tapped the brakes. The car lurched and almost came to a dead stop (I later learned that the automatic transmission had shifted into 1st gear). This happened 2-3 other times as I tried to move over and get out of the traffic flow w/o being able to fully deploy the brakes. I had to "coast" to a stop. The force of the lurch was enough to throw me forward in my seat. I feel very fortunate that the airbag didn't deploy and that I was able to move to the shoulder without incident. The loud clunk that the car made when this happened made me think I had hit a huge rock or something in the road. Beyond scary. I am the only owner of this car and it has been 100% maintained by the dealer.
I was applying the brake due to stopped traffic ahead of my car. As I did so, the car accelerated rather than slowed down. My car contacted the left rear of the car in front of mine, and as I tried to straighten out the car, it again accelerated. Veered to the right, and struck the stone wall of the bridge on the shoulder of the highway. According to the police report, there was a malfunction with the throttle mechanism. "officers witnessed, when starting the vehicle, the rpm indicator quickly rise to approximately 5,000/5,500 without any pressure applied on the gas pedal. The floor area did not exhibit items, including the floor mat, which would potentially be the cause. ".

Turned corner in large center city and hit a construction large pot hole and/or obstruction on the left rear. After completing turn onto a narrow one-way street acceleration increased, brakes did not work, engine could not be turned off, gears could not move. After going through two major intersections without accident I kept pulling on the emergency brake. The car slowly stopped and was then perfectly normal. Could use the brakes, shift, etc. I parked overnight in a garage. Had the car towed to dealer the next day (7/21/12), where it is still unresolved. Dealer said car is ok, but is now being analyzed by Acura corporate engineers. I had three other people who were in the car at the time, including my wife, who will not ever go into this car. The car was only 10 days after purchasing.
I was driving approximately 55 mph on a busy street. Without warning and without any direction from me, the cars right front brake engaged for a short period of time (seconds) and the steering wheel jerked to the right. The incident corrected itself quickly and the vsa light comes on and stays on. It is a very scary experience. In the beginning, it only occurred once every week or two. The frequency has steadily increased over the past year. At this time, it occurs about every other time you drive the vehicle.
With my foot on the brak pedal when coming to a stop the car accerlerated. The car lurched fprward.
Upon keyless ignition, engine continues to race even though gas pedal is not depressed. When applying brakes, engine continues to accelerate, and gas pedal seems to stick even after foot is removed from gas pedal and placed on brake pedal. This happens intermittently without any warning, and speed doesn't seem to come into play. I am afraid to drive this car with this condition. It has happened when I have other people in the car, and now they refuse to drive with me for fear that I am not going to be able to stop. It happened 4 times last Thursday evening 9/1/11 on the NJ turnpike going north after the toll at 16w going west to route 3, past the meadowlands. Traffic was heavy because of an nfl game, and was moving very slowly (no more than 20 miles an hour). When gas pedal was released to reduce speed, the engine was still accelerating, even after the brake was depressed. I drove defensively making sure that I stood well behind the car in front of me to allow enough of distance between it and me to stop. I have owned other Acura vehicles and have never experienced this problem. It is hazardous to drive this car - both to the driver and other cars on the road. I had it towed to the dealership where it will soon be checked by the manufacturer. I had recorded this situation when I brought the car in for service on 6/20/11, and the manufacturer could not find anything wrong. In retrospect, it seems that sometime when I was going from one speed to another, the transition to the higher speed was not smooth. Note, I never use cruise control, nor the manual shifting. Updated 11/17/11.
My fuel pump is knocking, shaking, causing my car to cut off, and causing the vhs light to come on which is a signal that my brakes are being effected. The staff at carland Acura played games with me on the phone when I told them there was a recall regarding this problem. They kept putting me on hold and transferring be from one department to another. The manager, eric, argued with me stating that their was no recall on the fuel pump/fuel system because he had already researched it. Can someone help me with getting my car repaired. I have small children that I have to transport in my vehicle. Can someone make a dealership, Acura, or Honda accountable for my vehicle so that I can travel safely.
The contact owns a 2005 Acura Tl. The contact stated he has soft brakes when slowing down. The brake pedal goes to the floor and it takes longer to stop the vehicle. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer. The contact just bleeds the brakes himself. The Acura manufacturer was not contacted. The VIN is unknown. The failure mileage was 44,500. Updated 11/16/10.
I bought a set of dunlop 235/45r17 sp sport signature tires in febraury, 2008 -- and replaced one of them in September 2008 due to unrelated issue. In early July, 2009, only about 17 months after I bought after I made my intial purchase, and less than a year after I bought the replacement 4th tire, the sidewall began to deteriorate (on the newer 4th tire) and the tread began seperating from one of the other 3 tires. Had my mechanic (doing a brake job) not noticed the defect, I could've easily had a blow-out and serious injury. I took the car into the tire store when I bought all 5 tires. They inspected the tires and found that all 4 were defective. They called goodyear/dunlop (I spoke with mary in the customer service dept. ) goodyear/dunlop acknowledged that all 4 remaining tires were defective and initially demanded $200 to replace all 4 of the defective dunlop tires (which I originaly paid $1,000 for). Eventially I agreed to pay $120. 51, but I still think I got screwed. Meanwhile, there's no recall notice, but clearly these are defective tires.
I have noise coming from the brakes since I got the car. .
