The dash came with a crack on the dash on the passenger side and in front of the center speaker. I seen this happened to other Tl the dash starts cracking from 5 to 6 year of manufacture. The the material used in the making is not resistant due to its design.

2004 Acura Tl defective dash - it was noticed dashboard cracks especially one developed where the passenger air bag is supposed to deploy. It is requested to consider this as a safety hazard, because it can affect the deployment of this safety equipment in case of an accident. Vehicle is parked most of the time inside a garage, so it cannot be explained why the cracks occurred.

I own a 2005 Acura Tl , which I happen to pay large amounts of money for this "luxury" car. Literally over night my cars front dash board had cracked. Its now has two large cracks on the front dash that are not surface cracks they actually are complete cracks through the dash from the very front,windshield, all the way to the other side,wood grain . One crack that happen to be very close to being on top of the front passenger side airbag. I have not been involved in any automobile accidents within a year, and the one I was involved in over a year ago was a minor fender bender. I have done research and thousands of Acura Tl owners have the same complaints and occurences that only have gotten worse resulting in several several more cracks to appear within a couple days to a month which concerns me. I am in fear these cracks and possible future cracks could result in my airbag sensors abilities to function correctly, which could lead to spontaneous release of them,.

The new vehicle headrest restraints are awful and most people, including car sales manaagers are turning their headrests around offering no support. While this may solve your insurance payout issue (bc turned around headrests negate payouts), it will not improve crash outcomes, which really should be your goal but is obviously not.

Several large cracks have appeared across the dashboard. It appears to be a huge complaint among Acura owners. The largest crack runs over the passenger airbag raising the question of airbag integrity and function. Such a widespread problem should be considered a munufacturer's defect and therefore be recalled and repaired by Acura.

Several cracks in my dashon the drivers side and passenger side. I am concerned about my air bags ejecting prematurely and causing an injury to me or my passenger.

I own a Acura Tl 2005 which I bought in Nov 2009 and last summer my cars dashboard developed multiple cracks. Now I am afraid if this will have effect on my airbags, I am noticing my cars audio already making some buzzing noise after the cracks. Please take necessary action on Acura and make them replace these dashboards, this being a luxury model they should atleast not put in cheap material.

Purchased a 2005 Acura Tl in 2008 from an acuar dealership. One year later the dashboard is cracking on the driver's side and on the passenger side near around the air bag. The crakcs started about about 3 inches long and are now a week later about a 12 inches long.

2004 Acura Tl severely cracked dashboard on the passenger side. I have 2 vertical cracks on the passenger side of my 2004 Acura Tl. The cracks were not gradual they both happened suddenly overnight. I have not had any accidents or collisions that may have caused this defect and am realizing that the problem is quite common amongst 04 Acura Tl owners. From pictures on online forums the cracks appear to be identical in all cases.

Multiple cracks in dashboard. Started small in length on passenger side of dash but now have extened and taken over the entire dashboard area. Also, the airbag light, both main and passenger, turn on and off intermittently.

The dashboard started to crack about a year ago and has continued to do so. Vehicle is maintained on a regular basis. Dashboard is continually treated with protective lotions, stored in a garage and parked in shade. There are now 5 cracks in the dash and I have found multiple owners that have experienced the same issue. This is a luxury car that has been well taken care of. I would consider this to be a recall issue.

My dashboard has multiple cracks resulting from no damage whatsoever. I have researched online and many other owners of Acura Tl models are seeing the same issue. I am concerned this will affect the airbag deployment system.

Cracked dashboard on Acura Tl 2005. The whole panel is cracking, I believe it may deploy the airbag system causing an injury or an accident.

Engine noise: a vibration and low buzzing sound in 5th gear caused by normal engine vibration at around 1,500 rpm, requiring a vibration damper near the rear motor mount. Also causing vibration on steering wheel at normal highways speed limits. And causing tires to cup and get bald. Very dangerous to drive on freeway causing steering to be very erratic due to vibration from front and rear broken engine mounts. Check-engine light: the check engine light may illuminate and a trouble code for the coolant sensor may be stored, but the problem is most likely a software glitch in the engine control module brakes: brake pedal may feel spongy or have excessive travel due to air in the brake lines requiring replacement of the vsa modulator. (2004-06) total repair cost so far. . . Item name repair cost a/c compressor $1,320 alternator $780 automatic transmission or transaxle $3,460 brakes $1,320 exhaust system $890 radiator $920 shocks and/or struts $3,200 timing chain or belt $1,050.

My wife went out to use our 2002 Acura Tl today after it sitting for a few days. The car is parked under a carport either at our home or office. She discovered that there was some kind of unremovable hardened liquid leakage around the shift lever that had ate away at the plastic parts around the shift lever and caused spotting on the leather. The rear view mirror didn't seem to have anything dripping at the time I looked but I could see there was an oval in the center of the mirror that when you pressed it, you could see there was liquid inside. I found a website searching for "Acura rear view mirror leaking" and now see this is a somewhat common problem. I also notice that apparently: 1. The mirror manufacturer (not Acura) will replace the mirror without charge but not including the labor 2. Acura seems to want to avoid any responsibility for this which I feel is wrong! 3. The damage to the car is permanent unless the plastic pieces are replaced and the leather is either cleaned or replaced. The plastic seems to be eaten away like the liquid was a solvent. The spots on the leather are not able to be cleaned (I haven't tried myself yet) according to what I've read. 4. The liquid that leaked is obviously not good for your health and as one person noted, got sick and confirmed the hazardous chemicals in the liquid.

Dash board cracks on right side area of air bag.

The contact owns a 2004 Acura Tl. The contact stated that the recall notice was not received until seven months after the failure recurred. She was concerned of the length of time that it took to receive the notification in regards to the safety issue. The failure mileage and recall number were unavailable.

2006 Acura Tl no longer fit to be driven because of the manufacturer's defective heating and cooling system breeding toxic mold and the procedures done to the car trying to repair it. The consumer stated the dealer sprayed some chemicals in the vehicles to try and mask the problem.

Dashboard starts to crack in the area around the passenger side air bag. You can see the shape of the air bag underneath the dashboard once the cracks start. The cracks continue to appear all over the dashboard out of no where. This vehicle has had no chemicals on the dashboard to clean it. The vehicle has been kept in a garage for a time away from direct sunlight. It has even happened on my 2005 Acura Tl that I also own. So this seems to be a problem with the 2004 and 2005 Acura Tl's.

The paint on my black Tl-s has been continually deteriorating since a couple months after purchase. Every bird dropping, road grime, hard water mark on my car seems to eat through 3 coats of meguiar's wax and take off the paint. Friends have witnessed how well I take care of my cars (witness my 10 year old Mitsubishi with no such problems and it was not garaged!) and agree that the paint quality on my Acura is extremely poor. I have been reading of other customers with similar problems and I believe Acura should have to send out a service bulletin to repaint those cars exhibiting this peeling, flaking, cracking, etching problem. I use a car cover and immediately wash off anything that lands on my car. . . . Often the contaminant does not wash off (bonds to the paint?) or just takes the paint off with it! talked to three Acura dealers over the years and no one will take responsibility. It's disappointing for a company my family has done business with for 18 years (7 Honda products so far). Never saw this problem on any of the other Honda / Acura products either.

Paint clear coat cracking and coming off "b" pillar on doors.

Car pulling to left, then right right from the date of purchase to present - 2005 Acura Tl. Actions taken by dealership to correct the problem include: 3 wheel alignments. Multiple tire rotations, replacement of all tires, and road pressure balancing of all tires. Problem still exists - dealer unable to correct.

2002 Acura Tl rear view mirrors - the mirrors are designed to have this tinting effect. Not exactly sure of the science related to this tinting process, but my mirror is have tinted and have untinted and shades in between. This is a safety issue and these things should be recalled. I've glanced on-line and there is some liturature about these mirrors failing and if they leak they contain a dangerous chemical. 1. To my knowledge, no specific event led to this equiptment failure. 2. The mirror's tinting problem is constant. 3. The dealers will replace the mirror for a subtantial cost to its consumers.

Vehicle experiencing intermittent problem with engine check light coming on. Vehicle been in dealer shop on three occasions, and problem still reoccurring. Check the engine light comes on intermittently but goes away after driving for a while.

Design of the instrument panel prevents consumer to see the instrutment panel while in the sun. Dealer/ manufacturer notified, and informed consumer that they do not see anything wrong, and nothing would be done at this time.

Customer states that she has changed her address and wants any safety defects to come to her new address*.

The odometer and trip odometer on this model of the Acura is virtually impossible to read during daylight hours because of the nature of the display. There is a safety hazard to the extent that it is necessary to remove your eyes completely from the road and stick your face close to the odometer in order to read it. On a recent 2,000 mile trip, I wanted to check my trip odometer frequently. It was very difficult and dangerous to take try and read the display. Sooner or later, someone will be distracted enough to have or cause an accident. I contacted the Acura division of american Honda motor CO. But they state they have no intention of addressing the problem. The idiot who designed the instrument panel display obviously never drove the car in the daytime. While this is not likely to be a major safety problem in terms of possible fatalities, it is still a safety hazard. And, this level of poor design should not be tolerated.

Design of the dashboard display is extremely difficult to read in daylight causing driver to remove eyes for extended period of time in order to see accurately. Mjs.

Center cup holder design is poor. When braking quicker than usual, cups tip over and spill contents into the shift mechanism. Contacted Acura and was told that they will note it for the next major redesign. I almost got into deadly highway accidents because of this and most recently I ended driving into a curb and damaging my alluminum wheel (don't know if it is still safe to drive with it structure strength wise). Durrinng a maintenance visit, I found out that Acura changed the design for 2001 and never notifies its consumers. I told the dealer about my last incident who then proceeded and gave me the peice from the show room car which I then I adapted to my car. Acura should fess up to the problem. I was lucky not to have gotten into any accidents and only ended with alloy wheel damage (which I now have to pay to replace).
