1 Carrier/rack problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2019

2018 Acura Tlx unexpectedly and for unknow reasons initiates an emergency (sos) call, one of which resulted in a 911 call to nys police. This has happened almost half a dozen times. We didn't keep track at first but now know to do that. Most times this happens while the car is moving. Nothing unusual about the car or the weather or anything we can think of that would initiate this. The car has not reported that anything is wrong. On one occasion the car called sos and when Acura person didn't get a reply from the car they called 911. Ny state troopers responded. The car was stationary in our driveway and had been for 12 hours. One of the troopers fell on ice covered lawn trying to get to the front door. I have asked Acura for the call logs so I can provide to the dealer with the exact date and time of these calls. 16 days after my written request I still have no logs. When this happens, it is a very scary experience. The two displays indicate sos in large red letters and the map lights up with the cars current location in 10 digit coordinates. Then someone comes over the speaker to ask if we are okay. This would be reassuring if we were in the ditch on the side of the road or incapacitated but going to the grocery store and it is going off has scared my wife at least three times. This has happened to me when I was driving too. Acura client relations has been zero help in getting the logs of times. Additionally, I think there is a systemic problem because Acura placed the concierge and the sos buttons very close to the garage door opener and overhead lights. We have, on two of three occasions pressed the button by mistake. On all those cases we told the person calling we made a mistake. All other times (which we don't know because Acura hasn't given them to us yet) the car initiated the call all on its own.
