The contact owns a 2017 Acura Tlx. The contact stated that after depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact stated that the failure recurred numerous times while the vehicle was idling. The vehicle was taken to first Acura sales (16 highland Ave, seekonk, MA 02771) however, the mechanic was unable to provide a cause for the failure. The contact was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to speedcraft Acura (883 quaker ln, west warwick, ri 02893, (401)304-3100) however, the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code or duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
My car stalled while driving on the interstate at 75mph. It happened in may, July, and September 2019. While driving the vehicle lost power and would not accelerate. The tachometer registering the rpms dropped to 1,000 and stayed there. After pulling over, shutting the car off, waiting, and restarting the car, the vehicle proceeded to operate as normal. Many of the warning lights appeared during this incident. Finally, in September, my car was undriveable and had to be towed to the dealership. The determination was that the car needed a new engine. I'm still awaiting for the repairs to be completed at this time (November 13, 2019).

My car stalled for the second time on June 12, 2019. First time was March 31, 2019. Since I already got the recall notice (NHTSA recall 19v-060) before the first time, I took it to the dealer and they said they fixed the issue by doing a software update. However, even after the software update, it stalled again on June 12th, 2019. It looks like either a new issue or their software update did not fix it. There is also a possibility of the updated software having new bugs. In my car, the issue could be with the computer, or other electronics or mechanical defects which Acura has not been able to find out during my several visits to their service. This is because most or all features of the car have been malfunctioning eversince I leased it. Another big issue is, apparently, the car computer did not record the stalling that happened on March 31st. Therefore, it looks like my car has a bigger issue than just software. The car (2019 Acura Tlx) has numerous issues ever since I leased it in September 2018 and they all continue. I have taken it to the dealer several times and none of the issues had been fixed. All features on the car malfunction and cause distraction while driving. The safety features not only don't serve the purpose of safety, but malfunction instead causing distraction and are very unsafe. The car would have been safer without these malfunctioning safety features. Acura has not fixed any of these malfunctions, although I have visited the dealer several times. To top that the car stalled twice which is even more serious. Although, my appointment is for 6/24/19 (I could not get an earlier one since they don't seem to take it seriously), the customer service rep called me a few days after scheduling it and said she did not expect it to help. I will still keep the appointment, even though the rep indicated this stalling will be dismissed as nothing.

I have a problem with the transmission not shifting down and up a gear when it should. This happens at speeds 5 mph to 40 mph with gears 1st through 5th. A great example is when I accelerate from rolling at 5 to mph, press on the gas to speed up and it will not down shift from 4th or 5th gear to speed up, it stays in 4th or 5th gear at around 1200 rpms as it speeds up as to 40mph. Even if I have my foot to the floor it stays in that gear unless I use the paddle shifter to force it into a lower gear to speed up. I have had the car in Acura service twice now for this and about to take it in a third time for this. It has on numerous occasions almost caused an accident. Imagine turning to off a highway, seeing oncoming vehicles and when you hit the gas to cross you expect it to accelerate but instead you get hesitation to the point that if it were any worse you'd think the car stalled. This is in normal mode, when it is in sport plus mode this issue is almost non-existent. I bought the v6 for the extra power but at times it seems as if its only a 2 cylinder engine. This is absolutely a safety risk and will eventually lead to an accident. This happens at least once a week and is more likely to happen within 10 minutes of starting the car. This still happens even after taking it in for the fuel pump recall from January 2019.
I have had the vehicle into the dealer 3 times (Feb 2018, July 2018 and Nov 18) for the same problem. Each time the vehicle stalls and must bet into park and restarted when at a stop sign, stop light or stopped for road construction on the highway. The automatic idle causes the car to stall. In order to get it going must shift into park and restart. It is very frightening because it happens intermittently. This happens with no warning and presents a safety issue. The car is not safe and is a hazard.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Acura Tlx. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle stalled and stopped in the middle of the road. The entire instrument panel illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart, but stalled again at red traffic lights as the auto start feature malfunctioned. The dealer (Acura of avon, 75 albany turnpike, canton, CT 06019, (860) 693-6981) refused to turn off the auto start feature because it was against the law. The contact traveled to florida and had an unknown Acura dealer change the battery and check the fuel pump for a recall, but no failure was found. The unknown dealer advised the contact to press the ignition button every time and avoid using the auto start feature. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.
2 different times while driving i75( 30-45mph heavy traffic) and then i16 (55 -60 mph rush hour traffic) the car stalls all lights flash off then back on and dashboard lights up first saying breaks the transmission, stability control. First time tech said fluke low voltage, second said car down shifts to 4th gear and gets stuck.
The car has times where it stalls or hesitates significantly - this occurs worst in shifting from reverse to drive (there is a several second delay and then a surge forward), and there are hard shifts between 1-2 and 2-3 gears. There are also times where when coasting and you apply throttle, it is unresponsive. There have also been situations where the car downshifts very hard and lurches forward almost uncontrollably (this has only occurred in sport+ mode).
