My 2017 Acura was involved in a low-speed collision where it failed to stop in a timely manner, resulting in a total loss declaration. This vehicle had open safety recalls (including the fuel pump/rod bearing issues) that remained unrepaired for over 1. 5 years. Despite multiple inquiries, the manufacturer failed to provide a repair timeline or remedy. I believe these unresolved defects directly contributed to the braking failure and subsequent safety incident.

Vehicle displays two warnings under normal usage. First warning is emissions system issue and second is brake system failure. The vehicle runs completely normal and operational, however these two warnings flash on the vehicle. The parking brake indicator also flashes. Vehicle has been to dealership/shop for multiple repairs; around 3-4 repairs within two months with no resolve for the same warning/issue.

Purchased a 2023 Tlx aspec with telecommunication package from carvana. When I as unable to connect my device to the vehicle, I took it to my local Acura dealer per the limited warranty instructions. It was there after they removed the dash, we discovered the control device was missing and the bracket was missing and the coaxial connector that attaches it to the dashboard is broken. The cellular device was removed as well to avoid tracking. With the harness damage, the correct repair to the car with the low miles it has is to replace the harness and then replace the missing part and the bracket. None of this was disclosed at the time of purchase. I have tried reaching out to carvana and the only answer I receive is to email their fraud department, which I have twice.

Short description transmission-to-ptu splines, causing awd loss and requiring full transfer case and transmission replacement. Summary this drivetrain failure poses an unreasonable safety risk due to the sudden loss of awd capability, lack of alerts, and resulting instability. My experience is consistent with dozens of documented cases and matches the mechanical fault pattern already under federal review. Given the potential for severe loss of vehicle control, a full investigation and corrective action (including a recall) is necessary. Symptoms sudden awd loss loud bang or grinding only front wheels receiving power no warning lights safety risks loss of directional stability wheel spin under acceleration hazard in inclement weather cost & extent of repairs many cases require complete drivetrain replacement costing $13k–$19k. Prevalence 137k+ vehicles, NHTSA dp26?001 currently open.
The vehicle experienced vibration symptoms and stalled on the road. The day before it stalled, there were rattling noises which prompted me to take the car to the dealership the next day. I had just received the letter about the recall so I knew it was likely related. The car was towed to the Acura dealership but the dealership denied recall coverage, stating the engine number did not match the recall list. During the discovery process, it was later discovered that the engine had been swapped by the dealership in 2018 — a fact that was not disclosed to me at the time of my purchase. The installed engine still falls within the recall defect interval of 2015-2020 but they are resistant to repair. Upon initial inspection of the vehicle, the dealership found metal shavings in the oil indicating internal engine damage. The manufacture requested my oil change records suggesting that this was my fault. I presented the oil change receipts but they still refused recall coverage and the dealership requested approximately $5,000 for diagnostics, if determined my fault. If it is determined that the defect damaged the engine, they will cover the 5k. After several weeks of inspection and going through the manufacture recall process, the dealership determined the recall issue applies my car. However, due to the engine number not on the “list” they are denying my recall coverage. They are seeking $25k for service repairs. After almost 2 months of back and forth, I have been misled and misinformed. I am struggling to get my car repaired under recall.

On or about October 21–22, 2025, I brought my 2020 Acura Tlx (brown, 99,000 miles, VIN [xxx] ) to goodson Acura of dallas for a recall repair related to engine concerns. The vehicle was returned to me on October 24, 2025. Shortly afterward, the car began to lag and hesitate while accelerating. On November 3, 2025, while driving to a doctor’s appointment on the bypass bridge in morning traffic, the vehicle suddenly stalled and lost power completely. This created a dangerous situation in active traffic. I recently underwent surgery following a serious burn injury, so limited mobility made this stall especially hazardous. After restarting the engine, multiple adas and system-fault warnings appeared. I contacted goodson Acura and was advised to bring the vehicle in. Upon arrival, the service advisor confirmed the warning lights but required a $205 diagnostic fee despite the recall work. Acura client relations opened case no. Xxx and advised the charge should not apply if related to the recall. After waiting several hours, I was told the battery had died and that front camera/adas systems were returning codes. This stall occurred less than two weeks after recall repair and could easily have caused a serious crash or injury. I am requesting a full investigation into the recall repair, the stalling issue, and any related safety defects. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Warning lights for electric parking brake problem and emissions system problem simultaneously occurring with no definitive solution. Codes can be cleared by disconnecting battery and reconnecting but warning lights eventually come back on sometimes in a matter or days, weeks or month. There are no other issues that coincide with these warning lights coming on.

My car shuts off at idle without warning. No lights or codes. I’ve seen a fuel pump issue is the cause on other models like mine.
Car was stolen unreasonably easily. Car alarm did not sound, Acuralink tracking was immediately disabled. Car started and drove away despite keys being secured in a faraday box. Acura has a fatal design flaw in their hardware/software that makes theft of the Tlx extremely easy. Evidenced by numerous online complaints from owners like myself, as well as by iihs study on most stolen cars. Tlx appears as both the second and fifth most stolen car relative to average:[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
All of sudden I got electronic parking brake/emissions system problem today 08/26/2025 and hence reporting this and quick internet research shows so many people having same issue.

As I was driving my 2015 Acura Tlx the status indicator on the dashboard started flashing all sort of messages, vsa, transmission, park, so on and so forth. Atleast 5-10 different messages displayed and all sorts of warning lights showed up. The vehicle then shifted to neutral (n) and flashed n repeatedly. I was able to pull off the road safely but I was unable to put the car in park, drive, reverse. I was only able to use the parking brake and shut the car off. I tried turning the vehicle on twice and both times it was in neutral. After letting the car sit for 30 minutes I tried starting it again and at that point the vehicle was in park and only displayed approximately 3 messages; I was able to drive the vehicle again. I’ve owned this vehicle for 10 years and it’s gone into neutral once before. I’ve also had the vehicle display multiple messages while driving. The vehicle was drivable with the few messages and after a few days the messages went away and functioned normally.
High pressure fuel pump failure. Car not functional and every warning light started to light up. The car just was serviced for rod bearing (entire crank shaft needed replacement) and regular fuel pump recall replacement which took the dealership almost a month to complete. I spoke to Acura representative who indicated that when either of the fuel pump or high pressure fuel pump is replaced, the other pump could fail. I'm not sure why both of the fuel pumps (standard and high) are not both replaced as part of the recall if there is substantial damage as was my case. Also, please note that there is an active high pressure fuel pump recall on my car, just not my VIN.
While driving, my vehicle has randomly shut off mid-drive on multiple occasions without warning. This has happened both at low speeds and on city roads, creating a serious safety risk as the engine cuts out without any dashboard lights, alerts, or codes. I lose power steering and acceleration, which could easily cause an accident if it happens at higher speeds or in traffic. The issue is intermittent and unpredictable, making it difficult to reproduce. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership multiple times, but they have been unable to replicate the issue or find a cause through diagnostics. Honda has advised me to tow the vehicle the next time it happens, which is unreasonable given the uncertainty and safety risk of being stranded. At the time of each incident, there were no warning lights, error messages, or unusual noises. The vehicle has restarted after turning it off and on again, but the underlying cause remains unknown. I have opened a case with american Honda, but no resolution has been offered beyond repeating the same inspections that have already failed to diagnose the issue. To date, neither the manufacturer nor the dealership has confirmed the issue or replaced any parts. I am deeply concerned about the potential for this to happen in a more dangerous situation. I am reporting this to NHTSA in hopes that this issue is investigated and resolved before it leads to an accident or injury. Cause of issue: unknown. Vehicle available for inspection.
Nothing collision accrued with this car.
Recall still listed as unrepaired after completion dear NHTSA, I am reaching out regarding an outstanding recall listed for my vehicle, even though the repair has already been completed. I took my car to an authorized dealership to have the recall service performed, and the repair was completed. However, the recall still appears as *unrepaired* in the NHTSA system. Because of this, I am currently unable to obtain a vehicle safety systems check certificate, which is required for \[registration/inspection/other—insert if applicable]. Could you please assist me in updating the recall status or advise me on how to resolve this issue? I can provide documentation from the dealership confirming the recall service was completed, if needed. The VIN# for my car [xxx] thank you for your assistance. Sincerely, vtek motorsports [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I was driving on a main road stopped at an intersection and my car suddenly stopped it shifted my car to neutral I had to restart the car and drove home . I went online and started reading about that problem comes out to be it’s a fuel pump recall . I then look up my VIN number and it says that there is no recall for it but I find it hard to believe because it’s having the same exact symptoms . Thank you have a blessed day.
The backup camera on the rear simply went blurry one day, it’s now impossible to see out the camera. It worked one day then failed the next, this is a safety hazard now. I think these cameras should be required to always function. This is the camera on the trunk. It’s unsafe for me to see when back up.
Car was parked with emergency brake parking on. Returned a few minutes later and couldn’t move the car. Mulitple errors popped on the dash board and the navi screen. Reset the ebp and even disconnected the battery to try and rest it but nothing happened. Although still starts, my car won’t still move and I had to get it towed to the repair shop.
All lights turned on randomly during drive. Replaced battery 2x seeing it was a common issue in my year Acura and also newer models. Still have the issue occuring. All lights from transmission error to lane keep asist ect.
Was driving in the car for a while and the dashboard just turned off. Could not see speed or any other safety controls.

My vehicle was stolen from apartment parking structure. Car was locked and both keys were with me. Thieves were still able to get in my car and start the vehicle without the keys in less than 5 minutes. This problem has been happening all over the country try with Acura specifically. Just the other day at work another 2023 Acura Tlx was stolen. I tried to speak with Acura and they said theft has increased and thieves can steal the car in seconds. This is a huge issue and Acura refuses to do anything about it such as updating their security hardware/firmware. The issue is all over the united states. Now for my new vehicle I need to install a 2000 dollar security system because Acuras vehicle security is horrible.

I've received the recall notice for my car about 2 years ago. I've tried to schedule time with the dealership to get it fixed but they just keep telling me they don't have the parts or I have to wait till something "bad" happens first for them to prioritize me. This seems really unsafe and bad practice. I've reached out to Honda and they have open a case to review this but has not gotten back to me since. The car has stall once and a few times during the engine shut off while stopping, it takes a moment for the engine to come back, not normally like when I got the car. There has been a few time that there were cracking noise while I was driving. I stop driving the car as much as I can to avoid an accident happening. Please help me get some resolution with Honda, it's been almost 2 years.
Hi, I’m having issues with my fuel pump / engine and I seen online there was a previous recall for this issues regarding my year make and model but when I search my VIN it’s not included? not sure why when I’m having issues related to that exact recall. I believe it can be related. I took it to Acura and they want to charge me 5,000 dollars for repair. I have a 2018 Acura Tlx 3. 5 v6 which is stated in this photo attached. Can I get some more clarification please? I’m having all issues notated on the photo. Regarding car idle, fuel issues, stalling and more. My car slid into neutral while I was driving twice! super scary. When I took it to Acura they diagnosed everything that was in the recall? not sure why my vehicle isn’t included when it’s very obviously related.
Nothing has happened. I just can’t get the Acura dealership in my area which is jackson mississippi jackson Acura. They do not return calls at all and I would like to get my recall on my 2018 Tlx repaired. I contacting them about 3 to 4 months ago. Just recently contacted them again for two weeks straight and no one is responding at all. I’m not sure what is going on with this dealership or the management but again I’ve left several messages for chelsea, her supervisor and the manager of that store. The address: Acura of jackson 800 adcock st. , ridgeland, ms 39157 service phone number (844)362-6839.
All the dashboard lights began blinking on the dashboard while I was driving about 30mph. The steering wheel began to get stif. I pulled over immediately and the steering wheel locked completely. I turned the car off and back after about 10 min and I was able to drive home. Luckily I was only 5 minutes away. I took it to the Acura dealer and after it was inspected they said it had to do with the steering however nothing was replaced or fixed. They advised me to let them know if it happens again. This is the first time it occurs however I’m afraid to drive this car especially on the freeway if the same incident occurs it can cause a major accident.
Per the note on this website that says "if the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please contact the NHTSA . . . " regarding manufacturer recall number yhg / NHTSA recall number24v-064, when I made an appointment with my local Acura dealer, they told me "the manufacturer does not have the parts and the remedy available for that recall, so we will not be ble to take care of it. If that was what you were coming in for, I will have to cancel the appointment. They have not given us an eta as far as when the parts will be available, and normally when they are available, they send their clients a letter stating that they have become available. ".
My wife and I had just turned into kroger's parking lot and I was looking for a parking space, we were probably going 15~20 mph. The car suddenly accelerated on its own. I was able to put on the brakes and slow the car down before we hit a pedestrian and/or other cars in the parking lot. We were fortunate that we were on an open stretch of parking lot, this may have turned out really bad. We drove around town after this happened and stopped and restarted the car several times. It has not happened again today.
The contact owns a 2016 Acura Tlx. The contact stated while driving 25 mph, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned on the hazard lights. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove to the residence. An independent mechanic had diagnosed the vehicle at the residence and informed the contact that the high-pressure fuel pump (hpfp) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 19v060000 (fuel system, other); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
Vehicle keyless access control unit malfunction and makes car alarm goes off as it triggers an ignition problem common problem in most Acura/Honda newer models.
There was a recall issued on Nov 2023. The manufacturer has informed me about this in Jan 2024. After that there is no update. In other words, its been 6 months and mfg still haven't fixed this. Based on what I read on the description of recall, this issue can be serious (stall of engine) which is not safe and also can get expensive if it happens. So, I am raising this complaint hoping you will look in to this and make manufacturer act on this sooner.
My car alarm keeps going off. It happened last week overnight 3 times (12:30, 1:30, 2:30) last week and a week later again overnight.
Emissions system problem/electric parking brake problem.
My vehicle was stolen due to a jammer that copied my car keys information. I have it on video. It was addressed to Acura and Honda about the vulnerability for past 3 years and they ignored it. I now am a victim of a stolen vehicle because of this vulnerability that was not acknowledged.
The transfer case blows up and which causes the all-wheel-drive system of the car to go away and the car becomes from wheel drive which changes the way the car drives and makes it very dangerous. The car has a lot of oversteer and this is very dangerous to highway roads.
