Lose Power Steering problems of the 2011 Acura TSX

I had returned home from visiting my daughter, and parked my car in my driveway. Thirty minutes later I returned to my car to drive it to town and the power steering indicator was lit up. I had lost power steering. Car is seven years old with 100k miles. I took it to Honda dealer since we don't have an Acura dealer. They quoted me 3k to repair. I said that was unacceptable. Short of replacing the engine in a car, no repair should cost that. I bought Acura because I thought they were reliable. This is ridiculous. Service person suggested I trade it in instead of putting that much into it. Are you kidding me!! so, I guess I will be driving without power steering.
