1 Tire Blowout problem of the 2004 Acura TSX

Failure Date: 07/25/2004

While traveling on the interstate at approximately 65 mph, I ran over some road debris which caused my tire to blow out. I did check my owners manual and Acura does not warranty their $240 tires for that kind of failure. I then checked my michelin warranty booklet, which also stated that kind of failure was not warranteed. The nearest tire store did not have my tire in stock, so I had to put a non-oem tire on my car. While at the detroit auto show during industry preview day, I noticed a michelin booth. I inquired about my tire failure. Michelin stated that I should have contacted them at the time of the blow out. I stated, I read their booklet and it was not covered under warranty. They took my name and number and said someone would contact me. With in one week I received a call from michelin. They instructed me to purchase a new michelin tire to match my other 3 tires and send them the bill. With in one week I received a check. If they want to be contacted and will reimburse me for tires, they should put that in the warranty booklet.
